Go Bama!

  • Good stuff- coming from a black 17 year old. I am not insulted by the confederate flag because I understand that it is about heritage, just like most other flags.

  • Alabama = The Best Haromic's EVER, I had the honor 2 meet then, they are like the Statler Brother's. They are humble and LOVE the fans. Even if it is 4 i vid LOVE the come back ( tour ?? )

  • i never realized just how much of "old alabama" by brad paisley is taken from alabama songs

  • Confederacy = freedom, independence, racial superiority, beautiful white women and great food . . . don't like it? Get the hell back across the Mason-Dixie Line.

  • @Jmes96 i know my place as a woman. That place is to be a damn good mother to my children and give them the love and respect that they need. If anything you need to learn your place as a man. Until you can grow up and tell me you know what it's like to be a parent and a southerner then you need to hush your ignorant mouth up. show some respect to a woman. You're gonna say that to the wrong woman face to face and she won't take it and beat you down like you so rightfully deserve.

  • Roll tide roll!!!!! That's all i have to say!!!!!!

  • I am REBEL proud..I will not defend or explain anything. My family fought and died under it and for it.

My Beloved Southern brothers and sisters families did also. WE know the truth and I'l be damned if ALABAMA is getting thrown under the bus. The only good thing about it is those who try to guilt and shame us. Only anger us with their hatred and ignorance. WE are SOUTHERN and PROUD. WE are a good people. A caring, loyal and fighting people. Thats all you trolls need to know. God bless

  • I grew up playing the violin and was so jealous of the fiddle skills in a lot of Alabama songs. Especially when that tempo kicks up at 2:40. I always dreamed to play like them. Would always listen to this song along with Tennessee River, Song of the South and of course If You're Gonna Play in Texas (you gotta have a fiddle in the band). Year after year I never got close. Alabama is the best.

  • cowboy17evi I understand why some will see it as a racist, it has been a long hard road you maybe younger then many people my age whom have seen the bad part but, this is now and not 1940 or 50's it was hard and many people do not know the terror that flag had for many people of different color but i am glad you have spoke up and said it it pride and we all have a flag that sounds and show for each one one god bless young man

  • Love this band! Grew up with this music. <3

  • I sang this at choir.

  • @CanAm85 all my ancestors were slaves at one point.. you dont hear me whining about it, suck it up n quit bein a bitch!!

  • Roll Tide!!!

  • I grew up on this music and i still listen to it today, what i would to be a kid again, the good old day!!!

  • I grew up hitting rocks down by the river. Everytime I hear this song I go back there. It is one of my favorite memories growing up. It was my time to just be natures friend.

  • Probably the greatest country music band ever! It was good to seem them on the ACA tonight, performing this song! They're as good as they ever were and would love them back in country music.

  • Comment removed

  • only true southern people know what that flag means

  • You dumbasses! That flag doesn't mean ur a rebel and/ or a rascist. It simply means your a southerner and FUCKING proud of it. Fucking morons...

  • some mighty tasty country music right here.

  • Alabama is still the greatest country musice group. They still are very popular and their music speaks for itself.,

  • Why do people like the Confederate battle flag so much? The CSA only existed for four years, and they lost the war (plus, you're not really a "rebel" if everyone else is doing what you're doing). To me, it is a symbol of defeat. What is it they say about "don't look back, look forward" ? Oh well...it's here to stay. These are some good tunes though...

  • @madtexan89 becuase that flag stands for the south

  • @madtexan89 ever get your ass whooped by a bully as a kid? did you wanna at least stand up defiantly and spit in his eye even if you couldnt whoop his ass? maybe now you understand the significance of the confederate flag...

  • @voivode24

Right, so is it for the slaves that were bullied for centuries?

  • C'MON, ppl, the flag means your a rebel, nothing more!!!

  • people know a day dont know what good ol country music is...now thats ashame!!!!!

  • ive loved this song since i was 5 and i still love it now im 17 and it taught me how to be yourself and not care wut ppl think bout u its ur own opinion of how u look u dont need to rely on others to tell u how to live or how to talk or anything else like tht

  • The flag is a part of our heritage in the south. You dont see us bitching about blacks or mexicans or anyother group waving their national flags,do you?

  • um I have a question, theres a song im trying to find, havent heard it for years, has a grandfather clock or clock ticking away lyric, any ideas? I believe its alabama

  • @cowboy17evi

Are you lost son. Me and my folks from the NORTH don't take to kind of yours around here!!!lol we love whores and drugs thats what makes america so great.

  • @fresnomenace301 im from canada, and personaly, i hate whores and drugs, and anything gang afiliated, call me square, but thats what ya get from a true bred back woods boy.

  • I keep thinking of this Georgia commercial for a country station, with the Mount Rushmore Presidents singing this song. For the life of me I can't recall the call letters, but by the same token canNOT get the image of four of our finest belting this out. And who better than the original Mountainous Men, George, Jeff, Ted and Abraham? :-)

  • love it i grew up listening to Alabama, 1 of the greatest bands ever thanks for posting

  • this is a classic song go alabama

  • Hey, this is getting intense...everybody needs a laugh. Check out my parody of Alabama's Christmas in Dixie, "Christmas at Wendy's" on You Tube.

  • how gives a flying fuck about the flag. you're on this video page to listen to the song. not the damn flag.

  • The civil war had nothing to do with black people or slavery so there is nothing offensive about the C.S.A. flag.

  • This is what's wrong with America!!!!!! People bitching over something like a flag. If you don't like it, don't fucking look at it!!!!!!

  • you have a huge fight over a flag, really? grow the hell up.

  • let people believe wat they want to believe i mean really

  • @jmess96 your discusting not to beleive the king james version, you might as well be walking around blindfolded, without guidence, if you read the bible closeley youll notice not one contradiction,i hope you change your mind,God will bless you if you have a little faith

  • This is without a doubt THE best Alabama song. They don't make country music like they used too, now all we have is garbage like Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood.

  • @cheetahman91 amen to that

  • This flag isn't about racism of any kind. It's about Southern Heritage. The History you were taught especially in your Northern schools have that liberal ideology that make the main conflict about slavery and it was more than that. This group is merely singing about some of this Heritage. As far as throwing in the religious debate it has nothing to do with this music video, but I'll play. This country was founded by Christians like it or not that is our History.

  • i love this song!!!!!!!

  • hahahahaha rebel flag in video pic = all comments related to it... even though this is a song, not a flag.

  • u got to love this!!! yee haah

  • When I was a kid some high school students came to my school and sang this song and danced for us all, we loved it! But it was more up bet then this one is a bit more spirted

  • If you don't like the confederate flag suck it up and get over it. There's not a Damn thing you can do about it. This musics 100x better than nigger rap. You can't even understand what the coons are saying. That's not music. It's retards trying to act like there so cool. Stupid coons

  • I remember listening to thiss with my grampa going hunting ....them were the good days miss u grampa

  • you know what i hate, people cry and complain that oh, theres a confederate flag on this video, that symbolizes something bad from 150 years ago, i mean come on, you wanna bitch about something, complain about the rap videos that have drive bys in em, or music videos that talk about pimping hos and selling drugs, you wanna complain about something, complain about that, not some shit that happened 150 years ago.

  • @cowboy17levi to me the confederate flag is heritage and not racism.

  • @americanpatriot176 dammmnnnmn Right Brother these ignorant fools don't konw any better .... they'll learn when the shit hits the fan ....

  • Comment removed

  • @lakebay972 not just to blacks but to ignorant people who dont know history

  • @americanpatriot176

Your heritage is Old Glory unless you are proud of trying to secede from America to keep slaves...

  • @americanpatriot176 i heard its illegal to fly the confederate flag... thats bull shit...

  • @yellowgroove yeah thats bull. when we go to the beach we fly a confederate flag and an american flag high and broud so the kids dont get lost

  • @yellowgroove I got a battle flag in my house and in my yard. Its actually illegal to deface it here in Florida, we also have one of the biggest ones in the country flying on I-4.

  • @NARproductions at's what i'm talkin bout

  • @americanpatriot176 hell yeahh

  • @americanpatriot176 The confederate flag has ALWAYS been about heritage.

  • @cowboy17levi hell ya

  • OOPs too late i already played it!! i live in the mountains!!!

  • I'm a city boy not a country "redneck" but I LOVE this song! I hate how so many people think country is all about "trucks, drinkin,' my dawg dyin and my wife leavin' me" when it's not.

  • the confederate flag means south and proud not rebal thank you goodnight

  • shut the fuck up n be nice n jam put to the great music n stop bitch damn n being racist

  • lts not the real confederate flag, its the confederate BATTLE flag. just saying

  • Some one please show me one racist lyric, because i can point to several degrading racial remarks to little wayne, but no one gives a fuck about that huh? Dummassssessss

  • I love this song! I remember my grandpa used to listen to this song religiously =] As for the confederate flag, it actually existed prior to the civil war.....So dont see how its really racist....and I think since slavery has been done and over for more then 100 years, we can just get over it now.....dont hear the Native Americans bitching and they were enslaved on their own land so zip it

  • Look if your racist or have a problem with the flag dont watch it and this @FeArhsma21 or Tazz007416 who ever wrote it if you came up to my truck "yes that a confederate flag hangs from" talkin all that shit you would get somethin upside your head shut the fuck up you aint nothin but a little bitch who probly livesin north dakota somewhere

  • @awesomeadam31 spoken like a true uneducated, unarticulated, and misguided soul. I am not someone's little bitch, and I would most likely do more harm to you than you have ever received. However, I would never stoop to that level and inflict harm agaist my fellow human because he has been misguided. I pray that you will seek Jesus and remember that his final commandment to us all was that we love one another just he loved us.

  • @Tazz007416 hey fuck you last time i checked i didnt come on youtube to hear a prayer meeting. no saying anything against christ. i believe, it just there is a time and place for all of that. so get the hell off the page and the only reason ONLY reason you say you would hurt me is because your on the net.

  • @Tazz007416 and also im guessing your black, if you take the flag as racist why did you go through all the trouble to find a song with the flag in it, if your where a christian you wouldnt even say anything you would turn away, so quit attacking everyone your not going to magically make them like niggers. Not alot of people do . lol

  • @awesomeadam31 I really shouldn't dignify such an ignorant comment with a response however for your sake I will make an exception. No I am not african-american. I like this song and hence the reason why I chose to listen. Are you aware that the "n" word is defined as an ignorant person? You may want to look into a mirror as the reflection is truly the "n" word.

  • why did ya cut of the spoken part at the beginning

  • Thank godness I am Canadian where racial divides are few and far between. Because of sin in our lives we do not live in a perfect world, however God reconciled us through his incarnate son Jesus Christ. Christ died on the cross at Calvary because of our sins. His final words were `father forgive them for they know not what they they do.` Music surpasses all boundariies of the flesh and enlightens the soul (the Godly spirit). Love one another as Jesus commanded as he loved us.

  • @Tazz007416 dont you all hate french canadians

  • @notabanana2 One word answer NO

  • @Tazz007416 You draw into question my moral values based on the misinterpretation of a symbol and top it off by preaching about a religion that says it is a-ok to practice the very act that you criticize me for. You are the definition of stupid. I'll save you the time and go ahead and throw you a few scriptures, retard. Leviticus 25:44-46, Exodus 21:2-6, Exodus 21:7-11, Exodus 21:20-21, Ephesians 6:5, 1 Timothy 6:1-2, etc. Those must be parables, huh?

  • @sheddingdeadskin "Throwing" scriptures at somebody and calling them a retard in the same sentence? Something about that doesn't fit at all.

  • @Destroyoman The words "retard," and the scriptures weren't in the same sentence. Logically speaking, if you detest something that was a big part of the religion you practice and your religious doctrine says it's all right, but you insist on using other parts of the doctrine to instill beliefs that are solely yours, as they are not expressed in the book itself, something definitely doesn't fit. The confederate flag doesn't represent slavery, but many parts of the Bible do. Couldn't be clearer.

  • @sheddingdeadskin No, but you called someone a retard and told them that you were going to throw scriptures at them in the same sentence. Also, none of the other stuff that you said made any sense to my comment. I never said anything about slavery, or the flag.

  • @Destroyoman Your comment to me was in regards to my rebuttal to someone else. In that context, it makes perfect sense. Your initial comment held no weight as the scripture means nothing to me, so I tried to elaborate in hopes that you would understand what the back and forth was. Maybe I should start drawing pictures.

  • @sheddingdeadskin No, actually it doesn't I was making a comment on regards to that one sentence, not the whole rebuttal. So, therefore it made no sense. I wasn't siding with anyone in the argument and had no idea whether you had belief in the scripture or not.

  • @Destroyoman I guess I have to break it down, again. The guy said that the flag symbolized slavery and went on to say that if I supported slavery, he would pray for me or some bullshit. He, then, went on to spout Bible verses. If he would have read the Bible and a US History book, he would know that one advocates and the other doesn't. He had the two backwards, so I showed him the scripture that shows that the Bible says slavery is a good thing. He made rash remarks in an ignorant manner. There.

  • @sheddingdeadskin Okay, there's no need to break it down. I don't care what he said, or what the argument was about. That's what I'm saying.

  • @Destroyoman Then, your initial comment was redundant.

  • @sheddingdeadskin Yes, that's what I was getting at, is that I had misinterpreted what you meant in the comment.

  • @sheddingdeadskin Before you call someone a "retard", please take a look in the mirror. Firstly, your bible references are clear examples of humility which we are all to practice. Secondly, I had further clarified my statement that the confederate flag is symbolic of slavery, similiar to the manner that the swastika is symbolic to the genocide of the Jews. It is obvious that you lack formal education, and I ask that you read and comprehend what is written before responding with ignorant comments

  • @Tazz007416 A whole paragraph and you've said nothing. Reiterating nonsense doesn't make it any truer. If it was humility for people to be slaves 2000 years ago, why was it different 200 years ago? The northern colonies had slaves, as well, but did they adopt the Confederate flag for that purpose? No. The Swastika was a symbol of good luck for thousands of years before the rise of the Third Reich and is still used in Hinduism. When people were being sodomized with Coke bottles, nothing changed.

  • @sheddingdeadskin

you know what else is TRUE? You have horrible grammar structure and spelling. P.S. "Truer" is NOT a word!

  • @superswimmer91 It's called an inflection. Also, I was implying that his statements were false, so, to ponder "what [else] is TRUE," would lead me to believe that your reading comprehension skills aren't up to par, anyway. Everyone's a critic, I suppose. Nonetheless, it has no effect on the argument as my point remains valid. If you would have taken the time to read the Bible verses and a little US History, you would see why any further debate is redundant.

  • I love music irregardless of its orgins. Why must not degrade humanity in order to make such isolated and ignorant comments in regards to the basis of a wholesome song and in turn divide the human race. Bottom line we are all born under the grace of one God and one saviour Jesus Christ. We are all created for a Godly purpose in the name of Christ. Please do not dishonour or disgrace that purpose. In the name of Jesus I pray amen.

  • @Tazz007416 Trust me I honour God and our Lord Jesus Christ on my knees by my beside each morning. I love God and his children beyond what words can speak. I truly disrepect hate in any form. So much I interpreted your original comments as hate filed. If that was in error then I truly appologize. If not then I pray that you will bow to Jesus and confess your sins and regard him as our ONLY lord and saviour.

  • This is one of the best country songs ever play me that Country music

  • Greatest Country band of all time by far!

  • @KMAwithCapitalA Bluegrass

  • white power

  • @MANDABEYAR25,,,U SHOULD RUN FOR PRESIDENT,, GOT MORE COMMOM SENCE THAN THE WHOLE DURN BUNCH...I WORKED ALL MY ADULT LIFE ,ALOT OF THE TIME TWO JOBS JUST TO TAKE CARE OF MY 3 LITTLE BOYS,,,,AND THE IDOITS NOW WANT TO CUT ALL WE HAVE WORKED SO HARD TO PAY IN AND GIVE THEMSELVES RAISES,,IF HE WAS WHITE I'D SAY THE SAME,,,AND BACK TO THE GUYS,,, AWWW ,,ALABAMA IS THE VERY BEST BAND '''EVER'' SONGS THAT JUST MELT MY HEART,,AND I'VE BEEN A FAN FOR A LOOOONNNNGGGG TIME!!!!!!!!!

  • you know, i remember watching Alabama get its big start on star search- a program similar to american idol. this brings back memories. music is great to listen to. for those of you having socio-political debates or idealological discussions- take it elsewhere. and to those of you who don't even know the difference between the words your and you're- GO BACK TO SCHOOL YOU MORONS!

  • hey guys keep it down im try to listen to good music :)

  • DIXIE!!And Randy is a douche.Love Jeff tho.

  • why is there all this political crap on a good ol' alabama song that sings about MOUNTAIN MUSIC! really...? does he say "nigger" no.. does he say "i want slavery" no.. there is nothing in this song about race.. they are FROM ALABAMA so they have a rebel flag in there.. so what.. nothing about this song is supposed to be about race.. people just need to quit being so god damn sensitive. it's a FLAG! it's about great music and good times! SO SHUT UP!

  • @baggettvictoria No one on here said he said 'nigger', incidentally. Stop insulting those who you THINK are against you and actually CONFRONT their views. You make large and sweeping generalizations about those around you from minute distinctions and incidents that are actually just spur of the moment, and not as dominant as you think. Alabama is an awesome and influential band, regardless of the current discussion(s) though. Live on.

  • @baggettvictoria Although I agree about your point of togetherness, you are forgetting one major point in the fact that the Confederate flag represents salvery. This was the basis the US civil war. Let's say for instance under modern day law that caucasion individuals were ruled as salves under the Stars Stripes and Banners, and a subsequent civil war broke out on that basis. Would caucasion individuals not feel slighted by the show of that flag?

  • @Tazz007416 Are you semi-retarded? The confederate flag represents cultural preservation and the 13 original colonies. The war was more centered around nationalism and economic divide than slavery, because, after all, the north had slaves as well and Lincoln only wanted for slavery not spread to new states. The slaves were mainly of african descent, not caucasian. Slavery has existed in all of written history. The bible condones slavery and even the cruel punishment toward them.

  • My opinion medicade should be for people who need it!, but your right obama probably get america out of the debt that bush put us in.

  • anybody who dosen't like this isn't worth even talking to let alone discussing right or wrong with. they'll never get it and thats fine with me!

  • i kno man i dont see why people hate rebel flag? like seriously american flag isnt hardly anything to me. seriously like black people get away with so much stuff just cuz they say it racist an seriously pull up them damn pants shit!!!

  • @alecfosho Stop acting as if you're a persecuted minority. Look around your area. There is more 'love' (not 'hate', which seems to be the WORST of all things possible, yes?) for the Rebel flag than you think.

  • I knew about Alabama a few years ago, but I have to admit that Brad Paisley made me get into their music. I really love this song!!!!

  • It's heritage not hate. But I do hate a ignorant n!gger, Ha!

  • @viceorvirtue1022 your a dumbass I Hate an ignorant white person...How many black people have died in this war FOR your sorry ass...

  • @ktbgfp Like 1 in 5 soilders are black....

  • @Kidwitha12gauge im not writing this stuff someone is on my account messing with stuff

  • Im from oklahoma an if u even look at a nigger its harrasment but they can jump you an thats ok? An they say we are racist yeah right. an i would have a prob with them if they werent so vulgar toward women, i got in a fight with a nigger the other day about that

  • Okay can someone explain to me why people are posting hate comments and comments about racism on a video that is just a song. You people need ti chill out if you don't like the song than don't listen. If your racist keep your hateful comments to yourself not everyone believes the same way you do. You people need to quit being so negative and try being positive for a change.

  • 43 people are cityslickers...

  • im a racist who hates niggers

  • STFU niggers.

  • I love that every string of comments on youtube ends up a debate. ITS A FUCKING SONG KIDS.

  • @DirtySanchezLives so true is just a song only words cant hurt you .....maby your egos but nothing else

  • @DirtySanchezLives it's not just a song,,,, it's an anthem!

  • It annoys me that people think the Civil War was fought only over slavery.

  • @1234REEB1234 well technically it was about states rights vs federal authority but if it wasnt for the issue of slavery the whole states rights thing probably wouldnt have manifested itself in such an extreme way.

  • @1234REEB1234 States wanted their Own Rights, your right slavery wasn't the only reason.

  • I really have no use for people who cry racism. They are racist themselves for just saying it. Get over the Rebel flag. It doesn't mean what racists think. Being from the South doesn't make you dumb or racist. Be proud to be from the South. The North owned slaves too, but it all gets blamed on the south. Check your history folks.

  • @131greeneyes Hell yes! Thank you! Finally someone who gets it! Man its great to be from the south! All these people on here tryin to put us down need to take it somewhere else!

  • black people are so worried about race and being offended by everything, its time to stop trying to get along and start being proud to be white again. i just wanted to hear some real country music and i have to read comments from dumb ass people so i had to leave my opinion to. rebel flag flies proud here in indiana.

  • really you say were gonna burn when more than half our prisons have mostly blacks just saying get over your selves

  • On May 3rd this year I seen Brad Paisley at the Grand Ole Opry. He brought Alabama with him and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen cause they both are awesome bands

  • A bit of advice: If you have hate in your heart, let it out! I don't try to hide that a) I am a racist, and b) i don't give a rats ass if the rebel flag or my opinions offend you. I hate niggers!

  • @Jmess96 yes but when u say stuff like that u wonder y poeple as in whites die im not black im white and spaish so trust when i say this being hateful give u a free ticktet to hell have fun burning <3

  • @avrilrcks76 I will and I'll be sure to watch Obama and every other nigger burning with me

  • @Jmess96 Obama has help us he better then the last. The last stood there while America fall from being the country everyone wanted to go to but know were in a 14 trillion debt to other coutry's do your homework he help the ecomony grow and he getting us out of debt it going slowly but its better then nothing

  • @avrilrcks76 This Is Country Music Not Politics!!

  • @avrilrcks76 Bush helped this country more than Obama ever thought about. Bush didn't give speeches and watch Congress fall apart like obama. Bush took action.. Not all his plans worked, but atleast we saw effort from him.

  • @Jmess96 yea he helped claiming he would help kids but he didnt help them he disapproved of gay rights he thought whatever he did was right not caring for fcats or what poeple thought

  • @avrilrcks76 First off your arguments are all over the place. So you support gay rights? Some people don't. Bush was one of them. He did care what people thought, but he also looked at what EVERYONE thought, unlike Obama who just pushes his own agenda.

  • @Jmess96 actually you need to get your facts straight. bush got us in more debt than ever before. obama is trying to get us out of debt. i'm a little country girl and i believe obama if given the chance could be a great president. and fyi i'm a white girl as well. stop being a bigot against a president who could very well get us out of debt. it might take a few years but i believe he could do it.. he wants to keep medicaid and all that stuff to help people. congress wants to fuck everyone over.
