  • It's a piece of AUDIO equipment. That means we came to this page to LISTEN to it. That fact that there is NO sound demo of the thing tells us either you're hiding something, or it's a piece of junk. I was gonna buy this thing, later on today, when GC opened up, but obviously you're already rich and don't need anymore customers... oh, well ...

  • I agree with the angry guy above: why the heck would you not A/B it? Telling us "I used it" tells us nothing, as we are not familure with your mic or the rest of your signal path.

Listing the connections is all you do here, one glance at a picture of it tells us that.

  • My experience: It sounds fine with a relatively high output mic, and a relatively loud sound source. But on quieter sources and / or with lower output mics (most dynamics) turning up the preamp gain leads to audible hiss. This is of course true with any preamp running near the top of its gain range, but it seems like this pre needs to be run cranked more often than others I own which have similar published gain specs. YMMV. 2 channels is definitely a useful feature in some situations.

  • it doesnt matter if we dont hear you talk at all..as long we HEAR how the preamp sounds....damn!!

  • What an aggravating voice, Sounds like a tin robot. So much for any experience with 'sound'.

  • I want it! It's perfect for my set up...

  • these things are noisy... mine has a real annoying mains hum on it... very low but audible.. tried removing the screen and it goes crazy...

  • every fucking preamp video i watch they dont show how it sounds wtf, would it kill you to plug a fucking guitar into it or a microphone so we can hear it. sorry for bitching guys but this grills my nads.

  • @ganjaking187 The voiceover was recorded using the pre-amp. Please keep clean language on your posts though to prevent from having your comment removed.

  • @LastStopReviews what mic was it recorded with?

  • @xubxub Shure SM7B

  • @LastStopReviews

He's right, though. Audio examples would be nice, there's little to none on this product. Not neccesarily your fault, but still enough to cause major butthurt on the internet.

  • you know the music at the start whats it called can u download it?

  • @XxiCrAzXxi It's just apart of the free music in iLife, so i don't believe you can find it online anywhere to download.

  • Hey great review! I feel like a dummy for asking this, but is the point of a preamp tube make your vocals/instruments sound stronger and cleaner?? I'm not really interested in the vocal part cause i only record guitar and bass, when i'm recording i just feel like my guitar sound doesn't have enough power to it, I already spent alot of time tryin for find a good setting so would buying this help my sound?

last question XD I know what phantom power is but what are the other 3 buttons do?

  • @YanmingYuMusic The other 3 butons are Phase Flip, Hi-Pass Filter, and a 20 dB Pad,

Phase flip is something you won't have to worry about unless you have dual mics on 1 instrument

Hi-Pass Filter will exponentially roll off all audio signal below 80 Hz

20 dB pad is to remove 20 dB off your audio signal.

  • @YanmingYuMusic A Pre-Amps main purpose is to futher amplify the audio signal. When it comes to power you definitely will receive more signal to your mixing board. One thing I always recommend is to test out multiple amps before purchase. Every amplifier, and every company will have their own sound, this is the reason many professional musicians will swear by one brand over others. You'll find some companies will give you a clear sound than others, and some will give you more presence than other

  • sleek design :) great review as always

  • Hi, you mentioned that the bluetube can be used for voice work or home recording, but how would you connect this unit to a laptop? I'd like to use for podcasting. Thanks!

  • @dooley078 The easiest way would be to pair this with a USB audio interface. I personally use the M-Audio FastTrack pro and have very few issues with it.

  • love the videos...it's so professional

  • nice review nick

  • Are you planning on doing the sleek by 50cent headphones in the future?

    Cause that would be awsome!

  • @snoopydoggydog I had not planned on it, but i'll try reaching out to that company to see if i can a review unit.
