Sick and tired of 4 channels of tripe? Now with Digital, you can watch 15 times more tripe than you had before !! Still not satisfied? There are now 12 channels of Pure Radio Tripe including Tripe FM and BBC Radio Tripe! Missed the last showing? Try Tripe +1, miss that? How about Tripe +2, wanna see it before everyone else? More Tripe has everything you need!!
There is a pretty massive divide between the technically savvy and the positively clueless. Luckily a nation of grumpy housewives can easily convince their husbands to buy and setup a new telly or digibox. For hotels though I imagine its become a bit like the IT business. Fitting hundreds of boxes is not quick, easy or cheap!
hotels have a head-end, so they only need one box for each off-air channel, and then they pump that back up (in analog) to the rooms, and no re-tuning is needed.
Yeah, all they have to do is press a button...most channels in the US and the UK have had a digital alternate for quite some time; many for almost a decade.

Parts of UK only.
I will get Channel 5 and the first digital channels in June 2012 and some won't get them until the end of March 2013.

Its quite funny because digital in the UK has been running for a good 10 years now, its not like its something that's just suddenly begun.

In the US, the government is giving out coupons for people to buy the boxes with.
It's weird that they just switch it off. You'd think there would be a countdown or something.
