Bear grylls just has a different outlook on his show, it may seem like he needs a camera crew to "survive" to everyone else, but i bet you anything, bear grylls could survive in a more harsh environment for a longer time than survivorman could ever. Bear was in the SAS, i think he has a lot better training than some old canadian hag who does absolutely nothing on his show.
Les Stroud has more skill than Bear Grylls. Les dont need a camera crew to get him out. He dont need help from people to get out of trouble. Les has to place cameras 100 feet away from him to get a good shot, then retrieve them right after. Bear Grylls on the other hand... He has a camera crew. He couldnt catch a salmon, and used the camera crews salmon that they had caught. Bear Grylls wish he could have the skill Les Stroud has.

Man vs Wild isn't 'fake' moron, it says at the beginning of the show that some scenes are set up and Bear only shows you what you can do in the wild to survive.
And I highly doubt he sleeps in a hotel all the time when he's out there.

You may say that Suvivor Man is more realistic (I disagree, because in a survival situation, you wouldn't be carrying a bunch of cameras with you), but Bear is definatly tougher. He wrestles crocs, kills snakes, he eats bugs and insects raw. Survivor Man once ate a worm.
The cameras dont even help him in any way and it hinders him. survivor man has eaten rotten fish, killed a snake then ate it, trapped rats to eat. youd just be suicidal to wrestle a croc in a survival situation. and why go around eating stuff raw when you have the skill to make fire and cook it so you wont get worms or die from s#!^^!%g yourself to death from some infection.

In the episode where he is in a desert (I can't remember which one) he sleeps under a tree with an old nest in it. It isn't untill day 5 that he destroyes the nest, because he thinks that there may be a cobra in it, whick means he was sleeping under it for 5 nights. He also didn't start settign up anything to get water untill day 3/4.
Once you "get out" of your origional spot you may find that your in a worse aria than you started at. Plus it lessens your chances of being found. If you use your head and just build a shelter, find a water source, and find a little food(like les) you wouldnt have to do the incredibly desperate things bear teaches you. Thats only if your right about to die which should be 3 days at the worst
