  • Only Classic Game Room can make a 3 minute review of a plastic box with 2 buttons. :D

  • lol The shape in the center on the back of the controller looks like the diagram in that dude's dream in Explorers.

  • how did he know about it?

  • OMG!DOES THAT STILL WORK?

  • Isn't the original game Boy like holding a plastic brick?:-p

  • i found this in my basement. i found the odysessy 2 system with the voice bvox 2 controllers and a bunch of game in original boxes!@!!!

  • @lugia756 dont throw it away the games bozed cost like $50 ea minimum

  • I live in Europe and here its called Phillips G7000 (or C7000 Phillips Odessy and alot of other names. At the G7000 we dont have the power button but the ridges are less sharp. After some time Magnavox began making the Odessey 2 (G7000) with the capabillety to unpluck the Controller.

  • how many controllers did you mark as "Best controller ever made"?

  • i wonder does the detachable version uses a serial port

  • hey check out my review of the magnavox odyssey 2

  • Hardwired eh? Maybe thats where nintendo got the idea for their Famicom. After all they licenced the Magnavox Odyssey 1 to sell in japan anyways.

  • It's not a very good control pad if you can't hold it in you're hands.

Although it would work well if it were to rest on a flat surface without being moved. But that is the problem.

  • @Dimitri0809 not if you stack it on some books, then you can rest as if its on the table. and if its a heavy book it wont slide so much and being elevated you have more grip on the controller and can weigh it down on the book

  • that would be funny if there was a odyssey2 oon ebay that didn't have the comtrollers.lol!

  • You clan unplug the controller, there are 3 screws on the bottom of the system, unscrew those remove 1 screw holding the controller wire in place and voila. U can plug in another just like any other system so a hot chick with her clothes off could do it ;-)

  • That's still less convenient than the traditional plug.

  • It looks like a decent controller, with the only issue being the foolish inclusion of that star-shaped thing which limits diagonal movement at times. Other than that, I can see myself putting up with the thing.

  • Why the hell did they make the controllers attached to the console? That's a massive flaw in an otherwise pretty damn sound design overall. Things like that annoy me greatly.

  • Yeah, me too. I have an Odyssey 2 system and it has the connected controller, but I know they made certain models that the controllers had a 9 pin connector thing, so some of the models did have removable controllers. Interesting at best.

  • Well that's inconsistent and irritating. What possible reason was there to not make the controllers removable? Maybe cost-cutting?

  • @Tryzon Well, didn't seem to hurt the sales of the Famicom(Japan's version of the NES)

  • ha! 3:02, the dogs like WTF?

  • i pwn KC Munch

i just bought the odyssey2 and 9 games for $14. its so fun!! 10x better than my 360

  • where?

  • a used furniture store in my town

  • hahaha my first video game the best =D

  • Is this controller better than the Atari 2600 Controller? It looks like it.

  • you can't unplug it, BUT you can desolder them :P

  • Every person who watches this video HAS to read the description.

"You see, they can't be unplugged. No matter what. Not even hot chicks with their clothes off can unplug them because they don't have plugs. Even if the girls are on swings or dancing on the bar, they can't do it."

  • The video description is hilarious.

  • heh pretty cool controller. I've never seen it before even if its like a brick that thing looks pretty sturdy and the joystick definitely has some spring.

  • COOL

  • eu tenho um desses! =]

  • WOW, I had an Odyssey, fun times.

  • I have seen this with atari-style plugs (not compatible),in a gray version, and a version with the 'star' position notches(always loved that) was a diamond instead. They rarely break, my first 2 still work!

This controller IMHO, was better than the 2600 (stiff as hell) the Coleco (tell me you never got your fingers scraped between the 'mushroom' top and the body...I won't believe you) the Intellivison (the disc was pretty bad for fast control, and you stopped moving when used the number keys!!)

  • wut do u do if ur controller breaks

  • You can unattach the controller on the inside. You just have to open the console and they can be unplugged. Magnavox also made another version with removable controllers on the outside.

  • that dog is awesome

  • mrmangoo thats a magnavox odyssey 2

  • May I ask what is that Console??? and what is so great about it, I have never heard about it.

  • That console is the Magnavox Odyssey 2

  • It's the Magnavox Odyssey 2, not like its in the title or anything.

  • I know that and you don't have to be so mean about it.

I was just saying that I have never heard of it!!!

  • HEY I am not a kid, and I don't want to get in a bug heated debate here so please let us just leave it at that and I respect your Comments.

  • there is a version that had removable controllers,

  • That's one sexy controller. I personally like the ridges but it's an aquired taste.

  • Hell yeah wires rule. That would make me feel like I got value for my money.

  • good thing about all teh wires, if someone trys to steal the maganavox odyssey 2, you can use to the wires to tangle up and even strangle the robber :D

  • LOL

  • Looking forward to some game-reviews!

  • do you have magnavox odyssey 1

  • Awsome

  • 10 years later Atari must have still been feeling the heat from the Odyssey 2, they released the Jaguar with its crazy multi-button abomination!
