  • Sorry, I don't think that you understand the meaning of the word HUB.

A hub is the center where many things meet up.

Think of a hubcap. It is at the center of the wheel.

The city of Boston is called, The Hub because all roads lead into it like the spokes on a wheel.

A single card reader therefore is NOT a USB hub.

A USB a is a device which you plug into a single USB port which then multiplies the amount of usable ports. Ususally at least 4 ports.

  • Please don't disgrace the actual geek girls out there, that is not a hub. It is a card reader only!

Maybe I should do a video for you about the differences between hubs and readers

  • isecond dnnd1 that is not a hub its a card reader

  • That would be always be called a card reader.... also these days you can usually just use a standard mini-usb cable without needing any software and it's much more compact and versitile than a card reader.

  • Not a hub...

Sometimes called card readers? No, ALWAYS a card reader.

A hub allows multiple USB devices to be plugged in, however you do share bandwidth of the one USB port that the hub plugs into.

Yes you called it the correct thing a few times, but you called it a hub a LOT more...

  • hot geek

  • thank you for teaching stupid people how to use a computer

  • Uhh a USB Hub multiplies USB ports... A card read is correct.

  • A USB hub is a device that allows more than one USB devices to be connected to a single port on a computer. She later also called it a USB card reader and that is the correct terminology. A USB hub is NOT the same as a USB card reader!
