  • So fabulous! Just beautiful!

  • I wish it would play long T_T

  • I can't get over the muscle development. Impressive. Amazing. Such strength and grace. And wow, such muscle and form.

  • one word sums this up.. WOWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!

  • Brilliant, and lets not forget the great muso's and song writers of the day who helped make scenes like this showstoppers. Blessed are we to have had a "Golden Age of Hollywood".

  • Carol Haney!!

  • no room for mediocry, that's what i think of fosse's works.

  • I lovelove.love this video. I have hit the replay 3 times already and the night is still young.

  • I keep re-watching it! They are obviously very well rehearsed, yet they make it look like they're dancing it for the first time.

  • For 1953, WAY ahead of its time.

  • luv this!!

  • okay, at 0:38, does that move have a name? i want to learn how to do that so bad, i love it!

  • AMAZING...!

  • @SL1999 Thank u !!

  • 0:19 They have VERY nice stage leaps...I swear that it is one of the most EVIL moves in a dance.

  • I am IN AWE of his talent!!

  • Carol Haney was SUBLIME !!!

  • This whole movie is of a quality far higher than anything that could be achieved on screen today. From the amazing Italianate sets, to Fosse, To the amazing Howard Keel ("Were Thine that Special Face").

  • @hyperion30000 Agreed!

  • amazing!

  • Fosse's dancing with Carol Haney. I've been watching Pajama Game - after Fosse got mega attention from this Kiss Me Kate moment, he was given PJ Game to choreograph. Carol Haney is a supporting actress and does a lot of dancing, including her spotlight moment in "Steam Heat." However, in the Broadway production, Haney damaged her ankle and understudy Shirley MacLaine was performing when the Hollywood scout was in the audience & she got the Hollywood contract.

  • This is very cool.

  • why did she scream at the beginning?

    lol

    I love 1:03

  • @yrti0121 I think that's supposed to be the sound effect for him sliding in. :)

  • S U P E R

  • omggggggg i jus realized tht the bollywood movie hum aake hain kaun has a song pehla pehla pyaar which has parts of this choreography in it.....LOLLLL.....never knew tht...

but this one is pretty good

  • I'm disappointed that the whold dance sequence wasn't shown; it is one of the best numbers I've ever seen. Johnny Cassada

  • wow wow wow, amazing! and 0:51 definitely reminds me of the Thriller dance a bit

  • awesome..i love how he inspired Mj and all the way to Beyonce :D.. and now me..lolz the arts is a beautiful thing

  • The woman he's dancing with is Carol Haney who was the original 'Gladys Hotchkiss' in the Pajama Game. This is also the role that introduced the world to Shirley MacLaine, who replaced Ms Haney when she broke her ankle. If that hadn't happened MacLaine would never have been recognized by Hitchcock and wouldn't have been asked to do 'The Trouble with Harry', her screen debut.

  • gives me chills every time i watch it, great dancing

  • Did Fosse choreograph this or just perform in it? It's different from is usual style. It looks really Gene Kelly-esque to me.

  • He choreographed it. Ann Miller saw them both performing it during break at a rehearsal and gave him his big break. This is all him :)

  • It is classic Fosse surely. You could see all the elements that madehis unique style here. Amazing how young he started.

  • It does look Kelly-esque! I think the woman dancing with Fosse was Gene Kelly's wife, or later became his wife... I know she was in KmK, but not positive this is her.

  • Actually, the choreography for the movie was done by Hermes Pan, noted for working with Fred Astaire.

  • not this sequence. He let Fosse choreograph his own section.

  • So I heard.

    Happy Hallowe'en.

  • @altodivo you can tell by the change in style between his duet and the others, it has Fosse written all over it x

  • @davislipman It is not difficult to recognize Mr. Fosse's choreographic style, nor that of Mr. Pan.

  • @Juliaflo; Pan was the official choreographer for the film but Fosse and Alex Romero were uncredited assistants. Too bad Fosse and Astaire never worked together!

    BTW, Pan plays the sailor.

  • @YouzTube99 Hermes Pan was NOT the sailor in "Always True To Your Fashion".

  • I saw this movie and fell totally in love with it! its the best one they have so far of Kiss me Kate and deff one of my favorite movies!! grr but I cant find it anywhere.. and I wish they would have the songs up "Tom Dick or Harry" and "Too Darn Hot" by: Ann Miller.. Any Idea where I can Find those???

  • "Movies Unlimited" will send it to you, Amazon might have it, or any big dvd store would be worth a try ... but definitely "Movies Unlimited".

  • the dance over the dance, a complete description of a real talent i love BOb

  • WOW back when show dances were good. any aspiring dancers out there, please, work for these standards! we need you!

  • I watch this at least once a week. It's very motivating.

  • cool as hell. Brilliant. Bob Fosse was a genius. I wish Ann Millers Too Darn Hot number was posted still. It was taken down! Too Darn Hott and this Bob Fosse/Carol Haney dance are my favorites.

  • They don't make them like this anymore. Just brilliant.

  • They don't make diddly squat today. Who, in your gut-gut feeling, would be able to recreate this?

  • Sadly to say....Disney, in the spirit of their High School Musical stuff....*sigh*

  • Masterpiece.
