  • Its easy for them to change tires, they change out tires after each moto race... Im trying to change my rear tire and its taken me 35 minutes to get one side off, now im trying the 2nd side, and the tire will not budge enough to pull the tube out... my eyes are creeping to that air cutoff wheel..... :/

  • Two opposing rim locks that is....far as starting 180 dgrees from the rim lock

  • What if you have 2 rim locks?

  • He needs a Riiiiiicola!!!!!

  • Man that's some soft rubber! Nice vid. Learnt a few good tricks. Thanks

  • its a LOT easier to take off that un used tire from the rim than a tire that's been ridden for a year and is really stuck on there good.

  • @SkinnySkinch So true, but I still managed to get mine off. Small bites. I was trying to take too big of bites and it gave me trouble. I used this vid to change my front a year ago and it was cake. The rear not so much. Still a helpful video though especially for a beginnier to changing tires like me..

  • i tried doing it and my tire would not budge i did everything

  • Rim locks hold the tire from spinning around the rim. Not from popping off in a hard impact. The inner tube alone will not keep the tire in place

  • Fucking tires, wish me luck, im about to go change my tire. And it doesnt look that soft haha.

  • ... Yea... Not so easy.

  • You make it look so easy , I give you props I used all the same tools and step by step what you did , I feel like a retard, I cant do it. I guess practice makes perfect lol

  • that was very helpful. i changed my tire today, took me 2 hours and lots of f-words, some scratches on the rim, but hey, it was a great ride after.

  • 4:18 FAIL...lol seriously though man your a badass i've had nights where i've cut the old tires off...lol

  • sick intro song.

  • yeah i cant even barely budge my fucking tires

  • What the hell kind of fake crazy heated silly putty tire is this idiot changing? I'm half way through my first tire change, and I want to murder this man and then murder him a second time.

  • photoshopped !

  • I restore vintage Japanese enduro's, they all have rimlocks, I've trashed many a tube, this video has shown me the light, 1 in 5 tubes with 2 rimlocks i still seem to bugger up, but before they were impossible, and single rimlocks are a snap, I even use tiny 8" spoons and no bead buddy (but I plan to get one when my supplier has them again)

  • What doe the rimlock do? whats the purpose?

  • @QualityAirsoft basically it just holds down the bead of the tire and prevents it from slipping off the tire if impact is hard enough

  • @QualityAirsoft or anything else tat may result in the tire coming off the rim

  • Always nice to watch an expert do his thing.

  • Very nice set of videos. Not as easy as he makes it look, but he's the expert.

  • thanks popped about five tubes

  • thanks , helped a lot :D

  • He forgot to say "I'm just making it look easy. It's actually a motherf***er."

  • @frickinjim so fkn true. i nearly killed myself doing it. was a bitch and a half

  • TOPMAN! NICE VIDEO :) CHEERS

  • That tire has like one ride on it.!?

  • uhuhuhujnh

  • I call bullshit, 19inch tyre on an 18inch rim

  • Comment removed

  • ummmmm do all racing bikes have the rimlock like that or is afternarket idk....

  • @dakota9309 They all have them

  • I don't know if this guy has extra soft tires or if i have extra hard or im just doing something wrong (pobably the last). I took out all air from the tube and then i tried to get the tire to loosen from the rim. This guy pushes a little with his hand, i jumped on my tire and it wouldnt loosen from the rim. And pulling out the tube, holy crap. Trying to hold up a tire stiff as rock with one hand and pull out a thick tube with the other one. This is hard as hell

  • @KawasakiRider91

need to loosen your rim lock up?

  • @TheRonaldo156 did that, the tire was like glued to the rim even tho it wasn't

  • wtf, the tir looks brand new.

  • You missed a biggie step dude and it cost me!!! My rims were permanetely badly scratched. You have to use a rim protector or your rims apperance will be ruined by terrible scratches which he obviously does not care about. BAD JOB HERE

  • It took me longer to watch the video than to change the tyre. Normally it take me an hour or so to change the tyre. And I love the window cleaner as tyre lube love it !!! This is going to help me heap when I'm out on the trail with my mates, where some one always gets a flat

  • rememebr people he does this every day for if not 2-3 times a day for pros

  • What is this guy fucking magic or something? Why can't I do it.

  • That is the coolest thing I have ever seen

  • if you have a tire iron in your car with the flat end, they work way better than a flathead screwdriver... just as good as a tire spoon if not better

  • You can get tire irons at any motorcycle store but this guy has a soft ass tire or he is a weee bit good at it

  • ok I really don't think its that easy! but it looks easy for this guy.

  • how much are tire irons and where can u get them?

  • he forgot to bust his knuckles, throw up his hands and say 'fuck this!! godamn tires..'

  • @djn00nan So true!!!!!

  • @djn00nan HAHAHAHA So true....

  • I can get a tire off that quick no problem. Getting it back on with the tube in properly is a different story.

  • i would storngely advise not to use duck tape as a rim tape it holds moisture inside and makes the rim weak, causes hole from corrosion and can also cause cracks due to weakness. best to use a rubber rim tape. factory race teams have alot of money behind them so they dont care if they destroy a rim

  • his shirt isn't even dirty ...

  • Great instructions. I bought all the tools shown, followed the instructions and it was easy.Thank you!

  • jesus! That tire is used? Ill take it! I could use that for a year!

  • Schopinski has the best method and makes it look easy. I followed his technique and got it right the first time!

Other videos "teaching" how to change a tire seem retarded compared to this video. It's fun to watch them struggle with 2 tire irons when you really need 3.

When I went to buy tire irons, the guy in bike parts said I only needed 2. Seems like Doug Schopinski is one of the few guys on youtube that know how to do it right.

    Thanks for the videos Doug.

  • Great video.. Saved me 50 bucks from having the local stealership do it.. I don't have tire spoons, but it worked just as well with car irons :) Just need a bead buddy to make it go a little faster next time

  • Thats a quick dismount...

  • well time to get off my lazy ass and give it a try

  • That's a pretty good guide, thanks made my tyre change WAY easier.

  • good vid, changing my tire should be very easy now!!

  • Loose balls?

  • Rubber balls. From the tube rubbing up against your tire and galling it up.

  • do small dirt bikes have rim locks because I'm trying to change the tire and tube on a PW 80 and cant find one

  • i just tried doing this..... my tire is tubeless and i was useing a screw driver "even though you told us not to" and i her a phssss of air coming out. do tubeless tires still have tubes??? :(

  • @runescapepart There is no tube if its tubeless. Your just hearing the remaining air inside the rim and also tire will breath if you break the bead with your screwdriver and suck air inside and the psssss sound is probably you pushing down on the tire and air coming out of the stem. No problem keep going.

  • well i have a crf150f and i looked it up and it was tubeles.. bought a tubeless tire. i just hope im right :/

  • Yes, they do. But they are a small tube that sits tight to the rim -- it presses against the bead of the tire to hold it. I guess you figured out not to use screw drivers...

  • Yes......sometimes. Like on a supermotard tire, the tire will say "tubeless" but yes, there is a tube in there. If it has spokes,-there's a tube.

  • Nice vid!

  • if i dont have tire irons what can i use?

  • These (all 3) are really worth watching if you've never changed a tire before. I watched them several times and then went out and changed the tires on my KLR 650. I kept telling myself "This shouldn't be this hard." When I found myself really grunting, I went back inside and watched the video again. I would discover that I had missed some little trick that made all the difference in the world. Thanks for the info. You can tell he's changed more than a few tires.

  • wow, that's a really good way to take the tire off at the last part, pull both beads outside the rim and then it just slides off. The way I did it would scratch the hell out of the rim :p

  • oh my god try it without the stand it SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • just put the tire and wheel on top of your old tire, good stand there

  • @dirtdude232 I do it with a 5 gallon drum full of water or sand instead of a stand =)

  • Also anyone know the song at the start?

  • sweet this guide makes tire changing soo much easyer :]

  • Met this guy at the San Fran Races! JERK!!!!!!!!!!!

  • me and my uncle can change a tire in less than 4 minutes

  • you must be very proud

  • @projectspillman you mean your uncle can and you watch? haha

  • dude wat r u talking about

  • I am a beginner at changing tires so I have always heard of this but what does a rim lock do?

  • It makes it so the tire doesn't slide around the rim when your riding and break the stem on the tube.

  • thanks

  • me and my friend were trying to take off my dirt bike tire and tried for an hourand i was getting so pissed then i decided to go on youtube this was the first video i saw half way through the video it helped me soo much and it ended up taking me 2 min when i went back and tried awsome video helps alot recommended!!! A+++++++++++++

  • I watched this a couple of times and decided to give it a try. To my suprise its not that hard. Obviously its harder than he makes it look, but it was worth it to me to save $40/tire to have the stealership do it

  • yess. thank you =) now i can change my tire and know what im doing haha

  • wut does he mean push the bead down?? what is that and what part on the wheel is it? thanks

  • nice thanks

  • awesome :P im going to make my own tire tools tomorrow and hopefully i wount break the tube when im changing it.

  • would not recomend those MP spoon tire irons if you are rookie.you will break them and they are $16-18 bucks a pop!!$20 bucks will get you three good steel ones.practice and ride safe.

  • Puta cara complicado da porra...vo pedi pro "Louro pe de espatula" com seu martelo de borracha mostar como troca um pneu em 2 min... esses americanos sao fodas....

  • That's not how you change a tire. He's suposed to be flailing around on a nasty garage floor with those cheapo 8" irons the rest of us have.

  • @ichykawa Exactly right! I do it with six feet of telescoping on my bar though, and still fail horribly. :]

  • Must be nice to have all the specialty tools in the world. Do they have instructions for people that cant run out and buy tools whenever they want

  • i bought a used crf100f and i need to get the tube redone. i think the previous owner used too much"Fix-a-Flat" so when i go to change the tube is there gona be a bunch of green stuff come out? thanks for your help

  • what was that about making sure the beed of the rim stopper falling into the dish of the rim? i didnt undeerstand it

  • thats an MRP tire stand.about $170.00 dlls.worth every penny.practiced at home and now doing repairs on the trail is cake.

  • That's a handy mount device he has for the wheel. I'd be doing it straight on the ground. Then again if you are stuck out in the wilds you'd have to fix it on the ground as well. I've seen some demo's where they take off the sprockets and disc's so you don't bend them if you have to stand on the tyre to break the bead.

  • VERY HELPFUL! thanks!

  • now try it whit a 20year old tire on a rusty rim

  • Id rather try it with your moms butthole

  • ahh best comment ever. Respect!

  • haha!

  • Watching this video made a big difference. Thanks.

  • the warmer the tire the better.keep the bead loose and as close to the bottom of the bowl at all time, then when you pry on the opposite side of the bead it will feel loose.thats the real "trick" to it.like he sais "its technique,if its hard then you are doing something wrong"

  • ok how does this guy get the old tire to move so easy??? i cant even get one bite on my rear tire.

  • proper tools, you gotta have proper tools or it's really hard

if you follow the video directions, and have all the tools he has, after you do it once it gets real easy, I've gotten flats riding and changed at my truck a few times now

  • one advantage he has is servicing a race wheel where the tire was mounted on the tire for only a short time. I like his demonstration. I'd like to be able to do this myself. the nearest service for this is 30 miles away for me.

  • why uh uh

  • I saw all the videos I don't know how to take the tire off my bike.

  • I tried to chnge my own bk tub because the plc u pt ar in threw pells of the tub, it didn't hav tat metal tng tat you showed in the movie on it it's the 2nd tim I got a flt Tis tim I trid to fx it but I put mre hols in it. I never tok the tire off becuz Im to scared Ill mess up the drum brake and it'll mess up. I don't have money change it either, please email me and give me instructions on how to change it aswell. If you think I could take the tire off and put it back on allright i'll do that

  • WTF?

  • .........? -_-
