cantor fogel was my cantor for many many years at shaare emeth. he had a voice like an angel and the avinu malkenu was always one of my favorites. he was such a warm. funny and loving man...... a wonderful teacher and a very talented individual miss you terribly cantor fogel.
I also grew up listening to Cousin Eddie's music - - beautiful voice and brings back such warm memories! Thanks for posting. I really wanted to listen to him today for some reason. Did a google search and found this.
No joke -- I've been searching for Cantor Fogel's rendition of Avinu Malkeinu for several years. I have a really strong, visceral memory of his incredible operatic voice. Thanks so much for posting! Also -- are there other recordings of his available online?

When I came from Russia, he was the first Cantor I ever heard. He had a beautiful voice, a big talent and a heart of gold. As a young violinist, I learned so much from him. I was just listening to this recording this morning, and remembering growing up with The Electric Prune at Shaare Emeth. A great teacher and talent.
