  • SHes not a satanist lol guys

she just believes in no god

  • satanist

  • she's so beautiful.

  • It's a song about our Light and our Darkness and how it's a constant battle. She doesn't hate Jesus, she is saying we are multi- faceted as human beings and we are all ultimately searching for our true self. Beautiful woman amazing lyrics.

  • It sure seems like there's a lot of haters of Jesus these days. Just look at this pretty and talented lady singing about her father lucifer and doing so on a nationally broadcasted TV show, giving the sick, evil performance legitimacy.:-(

May The Good Lord have mercy on us all.

  • Really, one of the best performances! Je l'aime...

  • Lizardo

  • This is probably her best interpretation, and she is at her maximum beauty.

  • Where's the sound asshole.

  • @FarewellBlackSwan ahahhah, so sweet

  • @FarewellBlackSwan Awwwww :( me too

  • It's amazing how just a slight increase in this song's tempo changes it's entire mood and adds so much tension.

  • Um, if Tori is going to "hell" then it must be a place of paradise, one that even this "god's heaven" place can't compare too. Just saying, just saying.

  • @TakeApart How could such an angel go to Hell?

  • she is surely telling us whom she serves. the god of the world and the treasure of this world is about all they will ever gain, meanwhile, you will be cast where Lucifer is destined. Even though God desires TO SAVE YOU FROM YOURSELF< YOUR SIN AND THE WRATH TO COME!

  • @ViviannaluvsJesus what a tragic misinterpretation of a beautiful song from a beautiful human being who has surely come closer to touching the forces of the great spirit that flows through all things than close-minded people who can't open their hearts or their ears.

  • @ViviannaluvsJesus You simply don't understand her music. She is making fun of Lucifer, God, and all the other Christian archetypes, in many of her songs, while respecting them at the same time. The distiction is too subtle for some people.

  • @AsheeshAnand She is not making fun of Lucifer.....

  • best version ever!

  • @stsinbad89 Lucifer has already been castrated by Goddesses like Tori.

  • I love how she doesn't keep her girls exactly the same as composed.. Like they change clothes from here to there.. Always did prefer the drizzle to the rain.. You said I run to him and then I run.. yes, run.. run away to the way, run away to the way, run away to the way.. never looked so sane..

  • @stsinbad89 lol

  • this is better than the album version. holy shit.

  • @modeserpent Have you seen "In the Springtime of His Voodoo" live? She kills it, especially on the MTV Unplugged version. The album take looks downright dowdy by comparison.

  • guys, this is music. STFU.. she's an artist for godsakes!

  • FUCK YOU LUCIFER AKA SATAN! SATAN ISN'T ALL THEY SAY HE IS HE'S DEFEATED!!! AND NOT MY GOD!!!!

  • @douggie7772010 dumbass

  • @douggie7772010 lmao dumbass

  • @douggie7772010 You're so annoying. You can forcibly insert your hell up your anus.

  • @douggie7772010 Religious ppl, stop being enemies with art, it's not good for you - Oh, once, christianity gave rise to great works of art and architecture, but today, it has become formulaic and lifeless, whis is why so many ppl are quitting the church. Just because she's doing a song ABOUT the devil, that doesn't mean she worships him. An artists needs to challenge common perceptions of the world, scandalous lines make ppl THINK about what you're saying.

  • @douggie7772010 To anyone who isn't a Christian, the devil is just a very interesting *mythological* character who might represent interesting ideas - C'mon, ppl. Nowadays, you can't even make art ABOUT/in favor of Christianity that is remotely creative. Take Lady Gaga (to use a widely known example) Proper art needs shock lines and need to make ppl think/be interpreted, but ppl don't bother to interpret it and call it insulting without thinking... Did you even spend a minute thinking about the

  • @douggie7772010 MEANING of this song, about its wonderfully melancholic little melody, the emotion she puts into it? No. Its not some boring formulaic church song and contains a few words vaguely related to christianity, so it must be EVIL. -.- Leave our ART alone.

  • @KendrixTermina no it's on bitch!!!!!!

  • magical as always

  • tori looks gorgeous here. i like her hair like this haha.

  • The trolling is distracting everyone from the glory that is Tori Amos!!

  • Awesome piece of trivia: this was not the "slated" performance expected from the Letterman show. It came literally at the last moment, proven by Letterman's quip: "who's this guy?" referring to Caton (guitarist). This was a true live-TV improv! Mixed with Tubular Bells, even! (Exorcist!)

  • I'd say it's pretty obvious she's into channeling dark entities even her eyes do the slitty pupil thing @ 3:05 onwards , still a nice song though

  • @wanker391 I've always felt a weird personal connection to this song, because my father's name is actually Lucifer. Funny, eh?

  • @ofcoursehesthefarmer halarious. I take it you mean the real lucifer(satan). I think the joke's on you my friend, and if lucifer is a real entity he's probably the one laughing. No offense.

  • @wanker391 I think you're affecting to misunderstand me: of course my father isn't the real Lucifer. (That wouldn't be very plausible would it.) No, I meant only that my father's NAME is Lucifer. Lucifer Barsand Garland of 48 Tunbridge Wells (if you must know).

    Good day to you sir.

  • @ofcoursehesthefarmer Wierd! why the "hell" would you name your son lucifer?I stand corrected my friend , i wish you luck in your endevours. peaceaaah.

  • @wanker391 By the way, that isn't how you spell hilarious. Hilarious is how you spell hilarious.

    Yours, Disgusting of Tunbridge Wells.

  • @ofcoursehesthefarmer There's no need to be anal about it. As long as you understand who give's a PHUC.

  • @wanker391

    What's wrong with you?

  • @MissArielMarie from your perspective i probably seem strange but in reality i have simply opened my eyes and awakened from the illusion that we have all been subjected to from birth. I hope you find peace my friend.

  • @wanker391

    Right.

  • @LakeShaman What if those fairies are incognito (o.0) ???

  • Her beauty here is so natural, it's breath taking.

closing my eyes while listening to this song I feel like I could be in a dream.

  • I wish the vid quality was better.

Pretty sure she's not a Satanist, calm down. Aren't Satanists just rebellious Christians?

  • I wish the vid quality was better.

Pretty sure she's not a Satanist, calm down....Aren't Satanists just rebellious Christians?

  • It's a well known fact that Tori was on acid for most of Boys for Pele (the writing of it at least). It's her most raw album in my opinion, and it was literally my bible as a teenager.

  • @turquoisebabies Where did you find out she was on acid? Boys for Pele is my most favourite album as well.

  • @Imxoneofthefallen back in the day when I was obsessed w/Tori,(and of course B f/ Pele came out when internet was just emerging) I searched high and low for interviews on her, esp. to go deeper into the meanings of the songs+lyrics. What kept coming up was this reference to hallucinogenic drugs,+ the aura of the album fits well w creativity on acid.I did a quick google+couldn't come up with much, but if you're really interested in this element let me know+ I'll find some more info.

  • @Imxoneofthefallen"No! I was taking drugs with a South American shaman and I really did visit the Devil and I had a journey."

    -- Tori; VH1 Storytellers

Her interviews from Boys f/Pele period are the most wild as well. Not sure if it was actually acid per se,but def hallucinogens like peyote type drugs. She mentions using ecstasy too.Wish I could find what'd I read in the past--I remember her talking abt singing colors and chanelling things...imo truly one of the greatest albums of all time.

  • @Imxoneofthefallen Wikipedia, Boys f.Pele article:"Amos, who has openly discussed her experiences with hallucinogenic drugs, particularly in relation to Boys for Pele, took drugs with a South American shaman and visited the devil". Google hallucinogen/hallucinogenic drugs +Tori Amos +Boys for Pele in various word combos+you're bound to find info. You may have to sort/filter thru some articles but also google lyrics+meanings f/ B f Pele--that's how I originally found out abt the drugs.Good night!

  • @turquoisebabies Okay thanks :) Yeah I knew about all the other stuff, cause I constantly read everything about Tori Amos, a couple years ago. My obsession has gotten the best of me. I think the drugs she did with the shaman was called ayahuasca, I think it's spelled, which has DMT in it which is psychedelic. Either way, whatever she took I don't care one bit because she produced a hell of an album.

  • and this isnt the best version. The one at boys for pele is even more awesome, with these rwisted voices

  • Awesome song.

  • To all the stupid christians bashing this beautiful song by this beautiful artist, I've got news for you...

    God doesn't exist.

  • Omg sooooooo hot

  • Tori is one of the most gifted performers I've ever seen.

  • great video Tori looks sexy hot in this..

  • I love how she plays the song from The Exorcist in the bridge.

  • "How's your Jesus Christ been Hangin?" I love the scathing allegory.

  • WTF you people are swooning over a woman signing FATHER LUCIFER, are you serious?

  • @gosciu555 Deadly serious.

  • @gosciu555 I can't even begin to impress upon you, how serious we are, about the swooning.

  • @AsheeshAnand

    Well try then. Satanist?

  • @gosciu555 No, I've no interest in Satan. Call me a Tori-ist.

  • @gosciu555 sir, with all respect. listen to the lyrics or listen to other tori songs. don't get offended by a song title. She really is one of the best singer songwriters around over the last decade or so. And - if we're going to talk christian. Her father is a christian minister and she is still in well with him

  • @ibg30 1. A title doesn't mean anything. 2. She's one of the best singers/songwriters who was raised by Satan and she's on her way to Hell. Her father being Christian doesn't save her from Hell. That's one of the worst arguments I've seen.

  • @PropheticVindicator who made you Judge? That's God's job, not yours.

  • @PropheticVindicator who made you Judge? That's God's job, not yours.

  • @jessika7381 Win

  • looks like a goddess!

  • looks like a goddess! :)

  • LOVE HER

  • This is so beautiful, not to mention Tori looks absolutely breath taking here.

  • Can't believe I've never seen this. Very awesome.

  • Check the video on my channels for a beatiful coreography on this song!

  • tori you look FUCKING AMAZING here, and sound just as good! That was divine.

  • Why in the world are people arguing about religion here? Just forget it and enjoy the song!

  • wow..everything is just..w o w ! beautiful, both her, the song. incredible.

  • So, if she was singing about the christian figure of Lucifer... This song would be evil? So mythological characters have power over songs now?

  • Shivers... Tori looks radiant, her beautiful red locks must possess a power unknown to mankind.

  • Good gravy people. She has stated clearly in interviews what she is talking about here - Father Lucifer is about needing to go to the space of shadow, to go where we hide. Not Satanism. A whole different plane. -Direct quote. You may think she's off her rocker, but that doesn't mean she worships Satan.

  • GIrl, I heard both the exorcist and bronski! You are not alone!

  • Tori Amos looks absolutely gorgeous here.

Not to mention A MUSICAL GODDESS.

  • This song doesn't have much to do with, "Suffering people" Here's a verse from the song,

"Father Lucifer you never looked so sane

You always did prefer the drizzle to the rain

Tell me that you're still in love with that milkmaid

    How's the Lizzies

How's your Jesus Chirst been hanging"

If your a "Suffering person" and this song lifts your spirits, I guess I'm ok with that. Its America, if you want Satan (Lucifer) to lift your spirits when your down, have at it.

  • @Pjaynes781 Oh man, this is so funny. Ok, so she's singing about Lucifer without exactly portraying him as something evil, so what? It's all imagery, it's funny how mentioning "lucifer" can attract such strong reactions. Or maybe it's only funny to me because I'm not christian but have merely studied it..

  • @SapphireJesse08 Tori has said that she feels the presence of Lucifer sitting with her while she writes songs on her piano.

  • Comment removed

  • @SapphireJesse08 Its not bad if you worship Satan.

  • Comment removed

  • @SapphireJesse08 No, not at all my place. Tori cause sing to and worship whoever she wants. Its a free country isn't it?

  • @Pjaynes781

What? Thats bullshit, thats not whats mean by "free country." Fuck satanists.

  • Oh tori, is that song for me?? LOL. My name is Lucifer, honestly. She has a lovely voice. What a beautiful person

  • She was on a bad trip, if you know what I mean, and she talked Lucifer. So she wrote the song.

  • Oh yeah and she had a pretty bad past

  • @Pjaynes781 As much as I understand that this is unbearable for you to watch, everybody has to understand that people have different ways of looking at things, and whether you were in a position to disagree OR agree with her, nothing will change just by bashing others' thoughts.

Everyday, everywhere there are so many people suffering and it's important for those people not to just be entertained by art but to find their own perception of life, knowing different point of views.

  • @Pjaynes781 So if this song was about God or Jesus it would be ok? Or is it just Lucifer you should keep to yourself?

  • @Sweetforthesoul No, I'm all for free speech, she can sing about whoever she wants.

  • @Pjaynes781 I really don't think you have any understanding for this song or for Tori Amos at all. Because if you did you shouldn't make comments like you have done.

If you are interested in why she wrote this song, google it, instead of getting into a conversation without any knowledge.

  • @Sweetforthesoul I have

  • @Pjaynes781 Well, then all I can say is that I think you've misunderstood the whole Tori Amos concept.

  • @Pjaynes781 Well, then all I can say is that I think you've misunderstood the whole Tori Amos concept.

  • @Pjaynes781 - Life is much too complex to be so one-sided. If you're so easily offended, why did you click on a video called "Tori Amos- Father Lucifer"?? You should be ashamed to make such a negative sentiment so public.

  • @Pjaynes781 I can see why you might think that she belongs with the Lilith crowd, but she, along with Ani Difranco, has nothing but the deepest contempt for Lilith fair. As for the Lilith Fair goup, Many of them are Goddess worshippers. I think you might be a bit dissapointed in their views on Lucifer, and Jesus for that matter.

  • This is such a dramatic twist on the original Father Lucifer. LOVE IT!!

  • моя любимая песня)

  • Does anyone know where I can find an audio file of this song? Preferably lossless (Flac/Wave/Ape) but i'll settle for mp3 too. Thanks.

  • Every time I watch this, it bends my heart. Exquisite.

  • fuck me, what a greand piano!!! O_O i wanna own one like that xD

btw i love tori^^ a little too fast, think

  • I love her hair in this. i would wear mine like that everyday if i could do it : )

  • I just can't believe my eyes & ears after this performance...

I'll always love her.... She's more than unique....

  • Pjaynes781,

    Fuck.

    You.

    Tori can do no wrong.

She's a rape survivor and an Aryan goddess.

  • @Pjaynes781

yeah, lets see you write & compose & perform something this deep & exquisite.

  • fucking lizards

  • TORI IS BEYOND GORGEOUS ON THIS VIDEO....I'm so gonna go Bi for her..

  • Exactly Man

  • This song is based on a drug addled dream she had, it has nothing to do with luciferianism or the illuminati. Try reading interviews before you make things up.

  • @CutManMetal yea, because in the interview, if it was about the illuminati, she'd def tell the truth about the secrete society's.

  • @niddasa So, basically, you know what the song is about. And it doesn't matter what anyone says. You know it's about the illuminati. Because you're just that smart. Good job. You must be psychic, glad you can read Tori Amos' mind.

  • Elle est tellement belle, que dit belle, sublissime même !!!!

  • "You always did prefer the drizzle to the rain; run away, run away, run away..."

Indicative to how we often relate to ourselves and to one another.

  • It's the performances like these that make me a fan.

  • whos that guy?....gosh

  • thanks for posting! it's so amazing! :)

  • I love this video...I've never seen it before.

This is the grrl I want to come back to us.

AATS was a terrible album. It actually broke my heart a bit. (Florence has picked up the pieces, tho!)

I really miss this sweet faerie princess!

Thank you for sharing this fantastic video!!

  • @gerizababe agreed on AATS. A shame too, if you took the few really great songs in AATS (and there were so few) and the great songs from ADP.....she could have had a knock out album. She's too impulsive with throwing out album after album without considering the really good stuff and combining in into one solid album.

  • this is my fave song and i love that she plays tubular bells as well

  • i love it! she looks like a magical princess :)...and the "go away world" section is stunning!

  • she is beautiful :)

  • GREAT CLIP!!

  • right before the miscarriage :(

  • I know, that's so sad. :(

  • This is amazing! Thank you for posting this. : )

  • I find it fascinating that no one hears the excorsist theme blended in at 2:34 then go into Bronski beat's small town boy at 3:19. She is Friggin BRILLIANT.

  • yeah...she seems to be putting tubular bells in a lot of things these days :)

  • I heard it!!

  • @lxzander it's called Tubular Bells.. I hear it.. and i LOVE it. :)

  • @lxzander Wow, I can here it :)! She is so amazing!!!

  • @lxzander i saw this when it aired and i was awestruck when she started with the exorcit theme...ok i awestruck the whole time !

  • could she be more beautiful?

  • I'm not one of thoese fans who can't be a bit critical for her when it is needed but GOSH!! That music after 2.34... Awe Tori.

  • A nice song for my beloved Lord!

  • i love this so much ! :3

  • she looks so beautiful :)

  • wat a dumass

  • God Bless Tori! :D

  • Comment removed

  • LOL!!! You are not her judge!

  • You're just a religious fanatic (bad sign) and have absolutely no idea what this song is about.

  • lmao Really???? This song is a Jungian reflection on Lucifer: that which reminds hidden. It has nothing to do with Satan or your idea of the devil.

  • This is such yummy classic Tori. and ++ missing Caton too!

  • GOD I LOVE THIS PERFORMANCE!

  • So moving !

  • What happened to Steve Caton? Why isn't he playing with Tori any longer?

  • diabl0¡

  • Made my ears orgasm... Awesome performance of Father Lucifer, if not the best.

  • @loula361 hands down my favorite Lucifer, ever. period

  • Someone can tell me where I can find the translation of this song to spanish? pls
