  • Salman, you unify concepts better than anyone else I know! Sometimes in your videos, at the halfway mark I'll be thinking, 'Why is he doing that?" But if you watch until the end it all become clear. Example, I didn't know why we were checking for lin. ind., but you unified the Span concept with Nullspace. nice! thanks friend.

  • can u play the matrix song when u do your video?

  • omg ur a million times better than my shitty math lecturer

  • complete legend

  • what the hell are you talking about?

  • I like your voice! Go work for Google and they will use your voice in their upcoming videos!

  • King king king... Hail King Salman... Salman for president :). Big thumb up!!!!!!

  • Sal, I run a small maths coaching college and you kick my butt as a teacher and also in maths

  • @KingHenryXI

Other instructors who are jealous of Khan :)

Flawless indeed. As many other comments say this guy puts my Lin Alg instructor to a pitiful shame. Thank you so much Khan you are saving my butt.

  • my prof does it using determinate

  • Honestly, who the hell would dislike this? 2/82 is too many. These videos are flawless.

  • @KingHenryXI People who's "x's" weren't satisfied.

  • THANK YOU!

  • it's actually [2 *3* 0 1] :]

  • I was in Japan when the earthquake hit so I was literally there for a week and missed one whole week of class back in the states. Little to did I know, when I got back to the states I had a test in the next week. Thanks to you I still have a chance to pass my test.

  • I nominate Salman for Nobel Peace Prize.

  • i sharted

  • God, if I never have to do linear algebra again it'll be too soon.

  • dude ur awesome..!

  • You saved me again!

  • good stuff

  • I understand the two equations written down,

    i.e. x1 - x3 - 2x4 = 0 and x2 + 2x3 + 3x4 = 0

but from there is it your choice how to re write them? Could you write instead

    eg x3 = x1 - 2x4?

I dont understand that bit. Some help would be great!

    Thanks

  • thank you thank you thank you

  • does the rref(A) have to have a 1 pivot with zeros above AND under?

i mean if you ended up with a constant in rref in the position 21,, do u eliminate this element or not?

  • thanks sal--but aren't you using "reduced row

echelon form" when you mean "row echelon form"? small beer.

  • @yynotx The only difference between RREF and REF is that RREF requires zeros above all the leading 1s. The matrix in the video clearly has zeros above all the leading 1s (the 1s in rows 1 and 2) and so is in Reduced Row Echelon Form.

  • Great video!

im going to watch these off my ipod, before each class.

  • Thanks mate, you're a legend. Easy to understand and follow! Keep up the good work!

  • your making mistakes ruins my consantration; but anyway thanks great video.

  • Update: ...when you reduced the third row with the FIRST row

  • He multiplied the 3rd with -1 and added 4 times the first row i think
