Get some grunt in it you guys, it all sounds a bit Tusk, Fleetwood Mac, you've got the voices, you've got the band, come armed to the table...with words that will sear the pastel paint of furniture....now is the moment for a punk rebuild with a harp...you don't have to throw the TV's out the window any more, the edgey ring tone can get you traction......the political winds will be in your favor.COME ON YOU GUYS---PUSH IT.
First time I've seen a harp, even a small one, used in pop music. Yes, they're definitely eye candy, and of course they're exploiting that to the max. Personally I like them better as backup singers -- there is, for want of a better word, a lack of power when they are the lead singers.
The Leonard Cohen show in Seattle on 4/23 was one of the most profoundly moving artistic moments of my life and the Webb sisters singing 'If It Be Your Will' was one of the many highlights. What a privlege. I am beyond grateful for the show.
100% thumbs up for their work with Leonard Cohen in Concert.... go see them and see him. A beautiful feeling at the end, a kind of blessing on us. Leonard seemed so humble, and grateful. "The only true protest in a time of great ugliness is Beauty"....Phil Ochs
I did see the Webb Sisters with Leonard in Wellington, New Zealand. Turns out they spent some time living here way back, as exchange students or something like that. The concert was beyond description, as I suspect most who have seen this tour will understand.
Hi Webb Sisters, this is routeoz here...the filmster of many of the Glastonbury & Big Chill numbers :-) Thanks for being on the LC tour. I'll be at Brighton this Fri; this time without a camera, I promise myself. Hope to see you all back for a summer 2009 tour. The Isle of Wight has to be a *MUST*...yes? Thanks again. Best wishes 4 ever.... routeoz.
When I heard the Webb sisters sing "If it Be Your Will" in Toronto, on June 6, 2008, I thought that was the best version of that song I had ever heard.
It's funny - you'd find it natural that the fair-haired has a clearer voice than her dark-haired sister, and that's apparently also the case as far as the speaking is concerned - but when they sing Hattie's the alto and Charley's the soprano! Or at least that's the impression I got at the Leonard Cohen concert. Not that it's a very important detail, but I think it's a bit funny :)
I saw them backing Leonard Cohen in Dublin on the saturday night, they were totally amazing. YOu could have heard a pin drop during "if it be your will". They were a superb choice by Leonard for backing vocalists. They remind me vocally of Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie from Fleetwood Mac. Really talented girls.

I don't think Hattie is an alto. I believe them both to be sopranos, just Hattie sings a bit lower than Charley. She is quite cute, Hattie:-).

The performance of If it be your will was amazing. They should record this song, it's almost better than the original one, if this is possible...
