  • 51 years old and I remember this so well! it makes me quite sad, to be honest :( getting older sucks.

  • @samsmumable Yes it does, but who would want to be young these days.......... I remember this so well I grew up in Scotland and if it wasn't for robinson Crusoe I would of forgotten what the sun looked like sometimes.

  • 6 weeks holidays, this and the flashing blade god i wish i was a kid again

  • Oh yes, what a classic. I'd love to know how many people here are around the age of 50 - almost all I'd say.

  • I remember this in Australia during the 1960s. Thanks for the memories.

  • It got shown over and over again on mornings in the school summer holidays when I was at primary school.

  • we are all children again!

  • Just the first few opening bars of those strings and it takes me right back.

    Instant childhood memories.

  • How many memories does THIS evoke for those of a certain age? Thanks for posting it. x

  • what you like robinson crusoe in 2010 /watch?v=XWpe8Iqto4Q

  • yeah absolutely brilliant - childhood memories evoked

  • Is this recorded from the actual single released at the time , or from the 90s CD release ?

  • @DabAndrew

From the original single (released in 1966),

  • @JFBridge What's on the B side please ?

  • @DabAndrew

    A piece entitled 'Adrift'.

  • @JFBridge So , the actual opening music that starts each episode isn't on the single then ?

  • Great memories, thanks!

  • thankyou for posting this. It is one of the significant theme tunes of my childhood in the 60's and 70's. this evokes rich and cosy memories of a lovely safe time.

  • @Wanch1e1ady ---- If you like this tune, you should hear the "remix" dated around 1980.... More Strings and Horns, a better recording technique and a longer version. Cheers !

  • @Henkbvo Thank you I will try your suggestion, this version though will lways be the one that i love as it is the theme from my childhood days.

  • @Wanch1e1ady the last post did not go through, thanks for your recomendation , I will try that. Always though, this will r the onethat evokes my childhood memories.
