It's certainly unusual, strange color, but on the zoom you can see some sort of string coming from it, so more than likely a baloon, but not positive. You did great work trying to figure out what it is, we appreciate that! Keep looking up brother.

The faster winds at higher altitude make it appear to fly in a trajectory pattern.
Nothing more to it.
Do your own experiment if you need to prove it to yourself, in a desert somewhere.

A UFO and aliens aren't necessarily the same thing. This video is absolutely a UFO, it's an UNIDENTIFIED flying object.. it could be a balloon, it could be a trash bag, it could be extraterrestrials.. who knows. This is a cool video, nonetheless.

1.Please list the characteristics of this object that lead you to identify it as a fire balloon.
2. While this probably was some kind of device containing a lighter than air agent, traveling across the sky at high speed - that does not mean it's "fake".

One possibility may be a trash bag filled with helium.I hanent done it since 9/11 came about but before that awful day for a laugh at work I would fly these bags on the cape with an M-80 set with a simple timer to blow up within sight of the launch point.We called them deadly dirigables and they were good for a laugh. They looked very much like what you filmed.Maybe someone up in the Brockton area had the same idea.I cant say with absolute conviction that it is the same thing as what is taped.

It came out of the South West. My mom saw it and shouted "hey!"
I looked out the window at her, saw her dumbfounded, looked up and saw what I thought was a big bird, grabbed the camera and ran outside. This all happened in 8 seconds or so as I was next to the window, having just put the cam down. I trained the camera on it as it went over us and it moved out of sight, North East. Whatever it was, it was not floating around in the sky. It was moving very fast clear across the sky.
That's understandable - but this is authentic - and even though it was probably just a balloon or something - I can't get over the fact that this "balloon" was pretty much above us when I first trained the camera on it - and then it was too far away to videotape. What you see in the video is real time. It's right there, and within seconds the whole thing is over and we're like "what the hell was that?"
1) The balloon moved on a trajectory, so fast across the sky that I was unable to get a good picture of it even though I had the camera in my hands when first sighted. The balloon is not floating around in the sky, it's moving very fast laterally. I couldn't hold the camera still on it because it was "flying away".
2) I see the nipple. I never claimed this was not a balloon - only that considering point #1, it seemed very odd.

I make videos and that's how I happened to have the camera handy when this thing flew over my home (I've since moved). The footage is very poor because the object flew by very fast. Had I not been using the camera at that moment, I never would have had time to go get it.
Get a plastic bag or paper, some strings and wire and a candle or sterno and you've an instant UFO. Morons on YouTube won't know the diff either. A little bit of wind and it'll move by pretty quick too.
It flew right by very fast - I was holding the camera at that moment. That's the only reason there is any video of it at all. I never would have had time to go get the camera - what you are watching is the object fly away very fast.
I too saw a similar UFO in NJ one year ago, look just like the object in the video,it was very fast,it made no sound, had no wings,and flew in a straight line,and it wasn't very big

if someone was to video camera an earoplane you would see it perfectly , so why the fuq out of all the video's that been shown EVER is there not a clear one, thats what keeps me skeptical
But I think if you grab a video camera and start shooting the next plane that goes over, you'll find that it takes a bit of effort to get a good steady shot of it.

You're right, it is strange. I think most videos are of balloons and stuff. I find it hard to believe that I was fooled by a balloon - but I must remain rational about it.

I've been interested in ufos for a long time. The subject is very complicated but fascinating, if you're open minded enough to consider the possibilities.

i live in massachusetts and I was going through Hadley, and me and my bff saw this weird object. it was dark, but we could see, it was round, had a bunch of lights around it, and it was turning. it tilted, and then stopped and stood there, thne zipped away

September 20, 2009, ca. 1:30 pm, witnessed similar object . It flew over Main St., Kingston, NY in a straight line, sw-ne direction, same speed. It had a dark metallic oval surface, reflecting the sun No noise. It tumbled. Thought it was a balloon. The oval was horizontal. Watched it continue fly in a very low "straight" line towards Hannaford's supermarket. Wind was calm, nw-se direction. If a balloon, it was flying against wind direction, which is impossible!
I've seen other balloons that were not tumbling, just the one the other week was tumbling which made it more weird to look at.. The more I look at the vid, the more I'm convinced it is a balloon. I can even see at one point were the valve is at the bottom. Keep looking up, there are things out there that can't be explained. I've seen a few of them also, but mostly balloons ;0) Just wait for one that does a full on stop or 90 degree turn or simply disappears, then you know you saw something fun.

A balloon tumbles as it is forced across the sky by wind - because it is a convex shaped thing and the wind cannot move it in any one direction without flowing over and around it causing it to tumble and spin.
I see the appendage. Interpreting it as the stem of a balloon is logical - but three us, rational people, were perplexed by this.
I'm not trying to say this couldn't be a balloon device, but I don't think it was a common toy.
You may note that the balloon flew from out of sight SSW, out of sight NNE - clear across the sky - and I was unable to get a decent shot of it even though I was using the camera when we saw the object.

Wrong btw, the wind exerts no force on a free flight balloon. This is one of the biggest misconceptions regarding flight. The balloon is within a moving block of air that you experience as the 'wind' on the ground because you are at a fixed point, when an object is in that block it doesn't experience a force it simply moves with the block of air. I just had a discussion with a colleague regarding tumbling and non-tumbling balloons. He was convinced it is to do with the static stability of the object. Your object was statically stable, it didn't tumble. The one I saw last was unstable, maybe just because the centre of mass was right near the centre of the object. It could not find equilibrium so was tumbling as it went through the air!
I put the camera on full zoom and the object was moving very fast. That is why it's such a short clip.
I had the camera in my hands when we saw this thing. By the time I turned it on and pointed it at the object it was too far away to bother trying to shoot it anymore. It flew right passed us. Fast. Like a helicopter.
If you have a video camera, sit outside with it and wait for a helicopter or small plane to go by and try to get a close up of it. You'll have a shaky video as well.
I saw similar last week. It was moving fast but tumbling as it did so. What I saw was a black toy ballon. But it did make me stop and watch it. The upper winds are faster than on the ground, this is simple fact, so even on a calm day a balloon can appear to race across the sky. I'm an aero engineer and pilot, I spend a lot of time looking up at the sky.. I spot a lot of toy balloons - sometimes though the answer isn't so easy. Constant speed, height, course 99% of the time it's a balloon.
You certainly have some good points, but your claim to have seen "similar" but tumbling means that it was not similar.
I caught sight of something the other day myself. It was high in the sky, moving very fast and then slowed down, went up, then down, looped around, sped up, etc.
It took half a second to realize it was a toy balloon in the wind. Simple.
This thing I caught on tape did not act that way at all. Nor was it very high in the sky. It flew across the sky like a helicopter would.

I saw the object about 50 seconds after my brother started shooting the THing. Not through a lens, with the whole perspective. It played with my mind...Balloons don't do that. I thought to myself "This Thing CAN'T FLY" But that's what it's Doing, "I'll Be Damed"! "What is THAT"?

But, seriously, this thing moved fast on a trajectory and it wasn't very big, so even though it was very close, it was just impossible to get a good shot. It just flew right by and into the distance. It didn't go behind trees or anything - just kept going till it was to far to see. Strange balloon, that's all I can say.

I used that camera for 2 or 3 years every other day or so - and was using it right then, when we saw the thing.
I couldn't video tape it, yet it went practically right over my head at about tree-top height. Also, I say "It's just riding the wind." but I was just using that expression to try and rationalize - there wasn't any wind.
And finally, really, what kind of balloon is that? There's no real evidence that it's a toy balloon. I mean, there's plenty of evidence to suggest that it's COULD be one of those ugly, black balloons - but I've never actually seen one of those before this. Have you?

Wind blows a balloon around - not straight across the sky. I had the camera with me when we saw the thing and couldn't get a good shot of it because it flew so fast. It was gone almost as soon as we noticed it. It wasn't floating or blowing around. That's what's strange.

But that explanation is erroneous. The balloon is shooting across the sky at roughly treetop level, on a trajectory - hence I had very little time to train the camera on it (even though I was using the camera at that moment) before it was too far away to bother anymore.
I think a balloon is the most rational explanation also. But, if it was a toy balloon floating/blowing around, I believe I would have been able to video tape it. I know this video is poor, but that is one of the reasons I contend that it was odd. It passed right over our heads and I couldn't get a good shot of it. It was not IN the sky - It flew by, like a bird or plane or helicopter - or maybe it was being towed. Though, by what, I have no idea. That explanation just raises further questions...

Most people don't think about it - they just jump to the conclusion that it must be a balloon. They don't bother to take into account that it was my impression while videotaping it. That sucker was moving fast on a trajectory. That's why I couldn't get a good shot of it. If I hadn't had my camera right there with me, I wouldn't have had time to think about photographing it.

This video is terrible, I know. But that is because I could not keep the camera steady on the quickly moving balloon even though I had the camera in my hands at that very moment. So that seems odd to me.
The reason it's such a terrible video is that the dang thing was moving so fast I couldn't steady the camera on it and then it was too far away. It moved very fast and there wasn't any wind to account for that. Even if it was wind, how did it blow clear across the sky without tumbling or spinning around? Huh, Mr. Scientist?
I think that video pointed out by scflyer55 shows exactly the same objects.The other video shows a lot of details that here are missing, but the organic shape and the little "antenna" are scarely similar. Could be an hoax made with a physical object, but the other video reports that the object was travelling at a very high speed, so, if true, this is UNLIKELY a baloon or a bunch of garbage plastic bags.
Looks like a garbage bag possibly weighted at one end to keep it from tumbling (you can see some kind of string at the bottom on the stabilzed section of the vid)... Filled with helium.

We have some in Britain who confuse the very same thing with a UFO as in the alien Ship that visits us every now and then but we don't seem to get in touch with them... ...and since it is a ufo; that allows the very unlikely possibility that it could even be a space ship from outer space with space men inside.

1.Please list the characteristics of this object that lead you to identify it as a fire balloon.
2. While this probably was some kind of device containing a lighter than air agent, traveling across the sky at high speed - that does not mean it's "fake".
3. UFO means unidentified. Even if it was a balloon, we've not established what kind, or it's purpose.
Your analytical skills and use of language are poor. Don't build any rockets.

One possibility may be a trash bag filled with helium.I hanent done it since 9/11 came about but before that awful day for a laugh at work I would fly these bags on the cape with an M-80 set with a simple timer to blow up within sight of the launch point.We called them deadly dirigables and they were good for a laugh. They looked very much like what you filmed.Maybe someone up in the Brockton area had the same idea.I cant say with absolute conviction that it is the same thing as what is taped.

It came out of the South West. My mom saw it and shouted "hey!"
I looked out the window at her, saw her dumbfounded, looked up and saw what I thought was a big bird, grabbed the camera and ran outside. This all happened in 8 seconds or so as I was next to the window, having just put the cam down. I trained the camera on it as it went over us and it moved out of sight, North East. Whatever it was, it was not floating around in the sky. It was moving very fast clear across the sky.

That's understandable - but this is authentic - and even though it was probably just a balloon or something - I can't get over the fact that this "balloon" was pretty much above us when I first trained the camera on it - and then it was too far away to videotape. What you see in the video is real time. It's right there, and within seconds the whole thing is over and we're like "what the hell was that?"

1) The balloon moved on a trajectory, so fast across the sky that I was unable to get a good picture of it even though I had the camera in my hands when first sighted. The balloon is not floating around in the sky, it's moving very fast laterally. I couldn't hold the camera still on it because it was "flying away".
2) I see the nipple. I never claimed this was not a balloon - only that considering point #1, it seemed very odd.
3) What do alien space craft have to do with it?

A fair argument.
I included the ZILLISdot com at the end because I put a lot of effort into the stabilization and got carried away, thinking I was producing some kind of documentary - rather unprofessional, actually :)
I make videos and that's how I happened to have the camera handy when this thing flew over my home (I've since moved). The footage is very poor because the object flew by very fast. Had I not been using the camera at that moment, I never would have had time to go get it.

It flew right by very fast - I was holding the camera at that moment. That's the only reason there is any video of it at all. I never would have had time to go get the camera - what you are watching is the object fly away very fast.

This vid does not clearly show the object, or how it behaved, because it flew away very fast.
I strongly suspect it was a hot air device caught in some kind of wind stream - but I really don't know anything about that stuff.
The thing moved so fast over such a great distance, on such a still day - It seemed very strange.

It's very normal to be skeptical.
But I think if you grab a video camera and start shooting the next plane that goes over, you'll find that it takes a bit of effort to get a good steady shot of it.
Also, I couldn't film it because It flew by too fast. I had the camera in my hand when we saw it, if it was just a balloon I think I could have filmed it.
It COULD be a hot air balloon, idk? I don't think it was from outer space, but we'll never know for sure what it was - and that's why it's a ufo.

You're right, it is strange. I think most videos are of balloons and stuff. I find it hard to believe that I was fooled by a balloon - but I must remain rational about it.
The videos that are clear always turn out to be fake.
I've been interested in ufos for a long time. The subject is very complicated but fascinating, if you're open minded enough to consider the possibilities.
But you make a good point and it's hard to say why that is - unless you just say they're not real. Maybe they're not.

September 20, 2009, ca. 1:30 pm, witnessed similar object . It flew over Main St., Kingston, NY in a straight line, sw-ne direction, same speed. It had a dark metallic oval surface, reflecting the sun No noise. It tumbled. Thought it was a balloon. The oval was horizontal. Watched it continue fly in a very low "straight" line towards Hannaford's supermarket. Wind was calm, nw-se direction. If a balloon, it was flying against wind direction, which is impossible!

I've seen other balloons that were not tumbling, just the one the other week was tumbling which made it more weird to look at.. The more I look at the vid, the more I'm convinced it is a balloon. I can even see at one point were the valve is at the bottom. Keep looking up, there are things out there that can't be explained. I've seen a few of them also, but mostly balloons ;0) Just wait for one that does a full on stop or 90 degree turn or simply disappears, then you know you saw something fun.

Sir, with all respect, A balloon that tumbles is NOT odd.
A balloon tumbles as it is forced across the sky by wind - because it is a convex shaped thing and the wind cannot move it in any one direction without flowing over and around it causing it to tumble and spin.
I see the appendage. Interpreting it as the stem of a balloon is logical - but three us, rational people, were perplexed by this.
I'm not trying to say this couldn't be a balloon device, but I don't think it was a common toy.

You may note that the balloon flew from out of sight SSW, out of sight NNE - clear across the sky - and I was unable to get a decent shot of it even though I was using the camera when we saw the object.
I can understand your doubt but it cleared the sky in under a minute, did not tumble or spin, and followed a near perfect trajectory. Yes it was probably a balloon. A balloon that can move clear across the sky in under a minute, does not tumble or spin, and follows a near perfect trajectory.

Wrong btw, the wind exerts no force on a free flight balloon. This is one of the biggest misconceptions regarding flight. The balloon is within a moving block of air that you experience as the 'wind' on the ground because you are at a fixed point, when an object is in that block it doesn't experience a force it simply moves with the block of air. It is therefore odd to see a balloon tumble as it goes along. Watch the convex balloon in the news at the moment, steady

I just had a discussion with a colleague regarding tumbling and non-tumbling balloons. He was convinced it is to do with the static stability of the object. Your object was statically stable, it didn't tumble. The one I saw last was unstable, maybe just because the centre of mass was right near the centre of the object. It could not find equilibrium so was tumbling as it went through the air!

I put the camera on full zoom and the object was moving very fast. That is why it's such a short clip.
I had the camera in my hands when we saw this thing. By the time I turned it on and pointed it at the object it was too far away to bother trying to shoot it anymore. It flew right passed us. Fast. Like a helicopter.
If you have a video camera, sit outside with it and wait for a helicopter or small plane to go by and try to get a close up of it. You'll have a shaky video as well.

I saw similar last week. It was moving fast but tumbling as it did so. What I saw was a black toy ballon. But it did make me stop and watch it. The upper winds are faster than on the ground, this is simple fact, so even on a calm day a balloon can appear to race across the sky. I'm an aero engineer and pilot, I spend a lot of time looking up at the sky.. I spot a lot of toy balloons - sometimes though the answer isn't so easy. Constant speed, height, course 99% of the time it's a balloon.

You certainly have some good points, but your claim to have seen "similar" but tumbling means that it was not similar.
I caught sight of something the other day myself. It was high in the sky, moving very fast and then slowed down, went up, then down, looped around, sped up, etc.
It took half a second to realize it was a toy balloon in the wind. Simple.
This thing I caught on tape did not act that way at all. Nor was it very high in the sky. It flew across the sky like a helicopter would.

@Goetmhmiac I was there watching the UFO. Brockton Fair Grounds is four miles from where we resided. We have seen balloons in the sky in every weather condition you can imagine...Literally.
I saw the object about 50 seconds after my brother started shooting the THing. Not through a lens, with the whole perspective. It played with my mind...Balloons don't do that. I thought to myself "This Thing CAN'T FLY" But that's what it's Doing, "I'll Be Damed"! "What is THAT"?

It was a strange site, but I had to call it a balloon. I certainly wasn't going to jump up and down hollering "the aliens are here!" :)
But, seriously, this thing moved fast on a trajectory and it wasn't very big, so even though it was very close, it was just impossible to get a good shot. It just flew right by and into the distance. It didn't go behind trees or anything - just kept going till it was to far to see. Strange balloon, that's all I can say.

It's very important to be rational about things. That's why I am saying "It must be a balloon" in the video. But notice I also say "It just went in one straight line. It didn't do anything odd..." but that's the problem - can a toy balloon zoom across the sky on a trajectory so fast that I couldn't even get a good shot of it?
I used that camera for 2 or 3 years every other day or so - and was using it right then, when we saw the thing.

I couldn't video tape it, yet it went practically right over my head at about tree-top height. Also, I say "It's just riding the wind." but I was just using that expression to try and rationalize - there wasn't any wind.
And finally, really, what kind of balloon is that? There's no real evidence that it's a toy balloon. I mean, there's plenty of evidence to suggest that it's COULD be one of those ugly, black balloons - but I've never actually seen one of those before this. Have you?

Yes, I know. But that doesn't answer the nagging question of how this balloon was able to shoot clear across the sky on a trajectory and not spin, tumble, or deviate from it's course.
Wind blows a balloon around - not straight across the sky. I had the camera with me when we saw the thing and couldn't get a good shot of it because it flew so fast. It was gone almost as soon as we noticed it. It wasn't floating or blowing around. That's what's strange.

The fact is that I use a camera quite often.
I happened to be using the camera the moment this thing flew by - and that is the only reason I was able to even point the camera at it - because I had it in my hand. The "balloon thing" flew right across the sky. I barely had time to turn on the camera. That's why I think it was so strange for a balloon.

I noticed that after a major sighting about 4 years ago where six craft total were involved and it was a very lengthy sighting I have been hyper aware of objects in the sky.... maybe you're going through that also? That's fine. I am not angry or upset. I totally understand that people think this video can easily be explained away as "a nitwit waving a camera at a balloon".
But that explanation is erroneous. The balloon is shooting across the sky at roughly treetop level, on a trajectory - hence I had very little time to train the camera on it (even though I was using the camera at that moment) before it was too far away to bother anymore.

I think a balloon is the most rational explanation also. But, if it was a toy balloon floating/blowing around, I believe I would have been able to video tape it. I know this video is poor, but that is one of the reasons I contend that it was odd. It passed right over our heads and I couldn't get a good shot of it. It was not IN the sky - It flew by, like a bird or plane or helicopter - or maybe it was being towed. Though, by what, I have no idea. That explanation just raises further questions...

if someone was going to hoax a video they would have done a better job. whatever that thing is my opinion (and my opinion trumps) is that the it was posted by a sincere person. You're really angry....settle down.

P.S most hoax by the way are very poor video and very very poor camera work (like this one) just to let you know! If there was actually really great video of UFO'S then there would actually be no doubt or very little. P.S I do believe were not alone, it would be arrogant to think otherwise.

It's not a hoax or a prank (there is a big difference between the two, but that's a whole different discussion).
It's very simple. I was using the camera. I saw something in the sky. I pointed the camera at it and It flew away.
I think it was a balloon, but I don't understand why it moved on a trajectory rather than just blowing around aimlessly.

Most people don't think about it - they just jump to the conclusion that it must be a balloon. They don't bother to take into account that it was my impression while videotaping it. That sucker was moving fast on a trajectory. That's why I couldn't get a good shot of it. If I hadn't had my camera right there with me, I wouldn't have had time to think about photographing it.

I came home (with camera in hand)
Went into my room.
Mom, in backyard, shouted "Hey!"
I looked out the window at her. She was looking in the sky so I got as close to the window as I could and saw - something.
I grabbed the camera and turned it on while heading out the back door. I pointed the camera at the object. It was moving very fast.
I abandoned even trying to tape it cause it was gone. I was just holding the camera as we talked for a few moments before I thought to turn it off .

You misunderstand. I think this must be a balloon as well - I mean what else can you say about it? It was strange looking and it just went in one straight line. It didn't do anything odd, so it had to be... a balloon...
What kind of balloon travels clear across the sky in a straight line?
This video is terrible, I know. But that is because I could not keep the camera steady on the quickly moving balloon even though I had the camera in my hands at that very moment. So that seems odd to me.

The reason it's such a terrible video is that the dang thing was moving so fast I couldn't steady the camera on it and then it was too far away. It moved very fast and there wasn't any wind to account for that. Even if it was wind, how did it blow clear across the sky without tumbling or spinning around? Huh, Mr. Scientist?

I think that video pointed out by scflyer55 shows exactly the same objects.The other video shows a lot of details that here are missing, but the organic shape and the little "antenna" are scarely similar. Could be an hoax made with a physical object, but the other video reports that the object was travelling at a very high speed, so, if true, this is UNLIKELY a baloon or a bunch of garbage plastic bags.

Looks like a garbage bag possibly weighted at one end to keep it from tumbling (you can see some kind of string at the bottom on the stabilzed section of the vid)... Filled with helium.
