I had a look at this mayan calendar. The end of the Long Count supposedly comes on dec 21 2012. the Long Count or Great Cycle dating system is a bit like the mileometer in a car. When your car gets to 99999 miles,go another mile and it goes to 00000, another mile 00001. it is the same with this calendar Dec 22 2012 will just be day 1 of the next Great Cycle. All this prophesy of doom is serving another purpose - distraction.
