I think what is missing from our educational system beyond the fact they leave out indentured servants were severely mistreated, beat, raped, kidnapped, sold, etc.. but they are failing to teach what slavery was really all about. Classism, not racism. Racism developed later. And what I find really sad is although racism still exist strongly in the US it is accepted as wrong which it is, but Classism is still overlooked as if it's ok.

While it is true that whites were enslaved in English holdings, in the Americas native peoples were attempted into slavery first. This didn't work out because they were able to escape into the countryside and disappear. After Africans, Asians and Pacific Islanders began to be imported, the previous European slaves were freed and granted small land holdings which included at least one non-white slave.

I think what is missing from our educational system beyond the fact they leave out indentured servants were severely mistreated, beat, raped, kidnapped, sold, etc.. but they are failing to teach what slavery was really all about. Classism, not racism. Racism developed later. And what I find really sad is although racism still exist strongly in the US it is accepted as wrong which it is, but Classism is still overlooked as if it's ok.

There is good information out there about the realities that alot of people do not know. The problem with this video is it's being made a black/white thing. They were kept in a hole not more than 16 ft long, chained with 50 other men to a board, with padlocked collars around their necks. Many died from the unsanitary conditions. Contrary to negros, the whites had no value since they were kidnapped or political prisoners.

While it is true that whites were enslaved in English holdings, in the Americas native peoples were attempted into slavery first. This didn't work out because they were able to escape into the countryside and disappear. After Africans, Asians and Pacific Islanders began to be imported, the previous European slaves were freed and granted small land holdings which included at least one non-white slave.

ACTUALLY, Egypt was NOT a black civilisation. In fact they were pretty racist themselves when it came to blacks. They considered the Nubians to be inferior and used to oppress them to the point of hunting them for sport @ times. Bearing in Mind that Nubia reached from the southernmost part of Egypt (starting from around the southern parts of Aswan) all the way down into what is now Northern Sudan.
