  • Awesome shooting gents! I don't know what's with the thumbs down. Freakin' haters man, they don't know how tough it is to shoot at that far with a small round compare to a 300+ grain .338's, 700+ grain .50BMG bullets, and bitting the target 6x in a row is like when Jesus turned water into wine. Friggin', awesome!!!

  • Doing the math, it's fairly close to 30 feet.

  • One mile bullet drop is like 25ft?

  • that is impressive. 45gr of varget is a very hot load. especially if your col is less than 2.800. i am learning about reloading and the round of choice is for my .308 to start. i havnt yet found my pet load yet- but im still cooking em up. hats off to you for the shooting- had no idea 1 mile and a .308 could reach it.

  • Thats amazing! #1, you are a fantastic shooter to be doing this! #2, it gives me a brand new respect for the .308 round!

  • what other powders have you messed with to get your ideal load? i havent tried too many, good shooting

  • I load Varget or 4895-H depending on what I have on hand at the time. I've pretty much stuck with that. I messed around with several different powders when I started reloading. I decided to settle on a decent load and learn to shoot it. When you use multiple powders, you have to have multiple dope cards.

  • i see you said you are using a 40moa base with your scope, I was wondering what you are using for a scope and what its total moa adjustment is?? I myself have set up a savage model 112, 7mm Rem Mag, with nightforce nxs scope with 100 moa adjustment and 20 moa base. I don't know what mine will shoot out to yet i'm still picking through loads. I have shot sub 1/4moa groups at 800yds. Just wanted to kinda compare the to to see what i might be able to reach out to. thanks

  • Scope is a Leupold VXIII Long Range in 6.5-20. It's a 30mm tube with 90 minutes of adjustment. So my 200 yard zero is only 5 minutes from being topped out. I've got the Varmint Reticle, having four horizontal marks. I can dope out to 1,500. Past that, its pretty much like throwing a rock.

  • Nice shooting.. those 155's really have some legs on em.. I gotta shoot up this case of 168s and i will start loading up some of these...

  • nice shooting, what are you specs on the rifle you used?barrel lenght, barrel custom or factory?

  • @forwardeyes

Thanks for the view. It's a factory Remington 26" varmint barrel. Accuracy mods include blueprint/truing the throat, lapping the bolt lugs, pillar/action bedding and I've re-crowned the muzzle. I've spent a lot of time finding the right combonation of powder/bullet and overall lenght. Very fun and cool gun.

  • Nice job

  • nice shooting ,the first 2 shots are very close together

  • i could lob rounds out there and hit the side of a mountain just like that. Great shootin LOL

  • wow thats awsome you can hit a mountain at a mile

  • @whiteghost1976

Yea.....a very specific spot on the mountain.......

  • @whiteghost1976 Why do people like you have to come on shooting videos with stupid, sarcastic comments?? He was aiming at a specific spot on the mountain; any REAL shooter knows that to hit a specific spot at long range combines so many factors; wind, barometric pressure, elevation, bullet drop, temperature, etc!

  • Why dont you use a faster round? Maybe push up to mid 200's on the bellet weight in a magnum cartridge and see less wind drift and drop at that range? Good shooting with a 308 though. Where are you at here? Great video....

  • @jaseandjen .308 rounds are cheaper and the .308 has quite a bit less recoil than a .300 mag. Many use the .308 for long distance competition. Good round for paper or hunting.

  • I started out with the intention of building a civilian M-24. Hence, the .308. We shoot out to 1200 on a regular basis and the .308 works very well. Being able to aim at something a mile off was just a fluke really. With my scope & 40MOA base, I have enough dope to go 1300, from there I'm done. But with this set-up, holding dead on at the exact bottom of the scope is on at a mile. Can't take the credit for planning it that way........just lucky.

  • how big is that hole?

  • The hole is a washed out bowl in the rock face. We have been within 500 yards of it and I'd say that it is about 60" I'm pretty sure you could fit a fridge in it.

  • Awesome video thanks guys, I like the no Bull shit you said. I can feel the mind set. Great shooting. TIG

  • what do you say to that? mile with a 308 that was good!
