It's now September, and (surprise!) Lieberman wants to put reform off until the economy improves. Gee, never saw that coming. Lieberman never fails to disappoint.
Slow em down Joe, slow em down. Slow down the liberals and buy time for the centrist Democrats and Republicans to kill this. Kill! Kill! Kill! Balance the budget. No more new programs till we can pay for what we have now.
"It takes more time for my pockets to get filled with cash. If this plan happens by August my pockets won't be filled with cash. So I'd like to go home on my break, look at the new bill, after I jerk-off on all my new cash. Odds are I won't like the bill because my new cash will tell me not to like it. It seems impossible to me that this reform willl ever happen."
I think Lieberman would make a great garden gnome. Ct has enough gardens -- put him to work doing something constructive. Give him a pointy hat and a wheelbarrow. Let him harvest giant mushrooms. Congress wasn't meant to be a nursing home for the senile.
I'm not sure how many decades this ghoulish nutcake has been unfit for any gov related position, but I'm sure its at least several. People please get rid of him and his kind already & keep the likes of this self serving ilk out ruling others permanently. I mean, unless we're all becoming empowered together=Law Makers! Ni4D(dot)US
Fuck you, you fucking snake. How much did the insurance companies pay you to take this stance? They rammed the Patriot Act through in 1 day and nobody read that, yet you all had no problem pushing it through. Fucking weasels bought and paid for by the insurance companies.
yeah I like that idea. Cut off his tax payer funded healthcare. Infact cut off all those in the government's healthcare and see how quickly they act.
The bill simply has a lot of legalese, which can be summed-up by the following statement:
The health care of the United States of America will no longer be a sadistic game of "Musical Chairs," whereby the participants have no idea that they are playing.
tori, 83% of Americans say they like that "sadistic game of 'Musical Chairs'...according to Gallup, although fears have effectively been stoked by leftists regarding health care overall, 83% of Americans say the quality of health care they personally receive is good or excellent--Gallup poll December 4, 2008
Give us all the name of the Gallup poll dated on December 4, 2008. There are a myriad of polls that state otherwise, and I'd be curious to see the one by which you're referring.
AMERICANS RATE NATIONAL AND PERSONAL HEALTH CARE DIFFERENTLY -- Public thinks US health care system has problems, but own coverage is fine Lydia Saad, Gallup, December 4, 2008. 49% at that time favored maintaining current system, 57% said the overall quality of health care in the country was good, but 72% said healthcare coverage was fair or poor. However 83% said their personal health care quality was good or excellent, suggesting a disconnect between individual realities and media hype.
These numbers don't say enough. It's like walking into an ER and saying that you have a pulse of 180 BPM, and then being given a diagnosis of cancer.
What these numbers don't say is that insurers have only ONE customer: Shareholders. The moment that increases in shareholder value and dividends come into play, we have a problem with our health care system; in that, it behooves the insurer to collect premiums from subscribers and not cover preexisting conditions etc. Wrong answer for the US.
Well the numbers say most are personally satisfied, which means we have to be very careful in screwing with what we have. I think if there weren't 50 different standards for what insurers have to cover, and you could buy health insurance across state lines with 1 standard, competition would keep prices lower, as is the case with car insurance. There's always a Geico coming along to undercut competitors and then a Progressive coming along to undercut the price again. Make it more competitive.
True. However, therein lies the chasm; Americans cannot choose from different insurers, i.e. Blue Cross vs. United etc. Rather, we are relegated to choose the type of coverage being offered by our employer's group plan from their regional insurance company, i.e. Single, Family, etc.
Still yet, that's not the main problem; it's that we have FT workers with employers offering no health insurance, at all. Moreover, insurers can choose what THEY wish to cover. It's the system, not the quality.
Well your side definitely has the votes on paper to get national health care done. I personally hope that it does not succeed, and that we just tweak what we have to make health insurers continually fight off lower cost competitors like auto insurers do, but we'll see.
People still take Lieberman seriously? He flips his beliefs more often than Bill O'Reily flips his statements and transcripts before they're posted online.
"According to the Economist the total US spend on health care is 15.4% of GDP including both state and private. With that it gets 2.6 doctors per 1,000 people, 3.3 hospital beds and its people live to an average age of 78.2. As a whole Europe spends 9.6% of GDP on health care, has 3.9 doctors per 1,000 people, 6.6 hospital beds and live until they are 81.15 years old. The US has the most expensive health care system that seems not to be effective, which is very bizarre indeed.
You fuckers passes the Patriot Act without reading it. Do us a favor: skim this bill and pass it. It seems to me it's impossible for it to be as bad a piece of legislation as the Patriot Act was.
Obama keeps trying to generate 9/11 like fear amongst legislators so they will get stupider than the normally are. Any bill that is a thousand pages covers too much and needs to be split into multiple, manageable bills. We don't even know where the stimulus money went and now we want to make an undefined change to our healthcare system that could make everyone's life worse or even shorter.
I am not afraid. It seems impossible to me that I'm the only one who is not afraid. Liebermann, for example, does not seem to be afraid. Maybe afraid of 1,000 pages.
Also, bringing up 9/11 all the time didn't work for Giuliani ... but maybe it'll work for you. Good luck with that!
Joe- you are supposed to be w/ the Democratic caucus, stop acting like you are w/ the Republicans. I know you are supposed to be independent, but they barely let you back it after the whole campaigning w/ McCain bit.
Man democrats need a fuckin backbone. I mean come on some of the democrats keep saying we need to slow down or some bullshit when they are just pussy out. No wonder they never can keep the majority ion congress. Get it together dems or ur doom in 2010!!
Thats exactly the problem withthat party, You have too many republicans running as "democrats" They are profitting off the "democrat" brand, but their votes and views are ALWAYS against the democrat agenda. Case in point this asshat and the other dickhead ben nelson.
You can ALWAYS count on Joe Lieberman to go against any progress, or any bill put forth by dems and to spot off rep talking points
That is right. Male DEMS have the BIGGEST PUSSIES in government for they are ALL Sarah Palin's DICKLESS and BALLESS BITCHES and PUSSIES! President Palin will EXPOSE their PUSSIES for the whole world to see and DESTROY their credibility.

I don't give a shit how long it takes for this to get through, as long as somebody actually reads it and uses their fucking brain and decide if it should be passed or not.
Yeah let's definitely get it done right now. Imagine all the people without health insurance that will die because of lack of care. Guess we have to wait until Lie-bermann is done studying it at his million dollar mansion.
Maybe he'll also make a trip to the doctor too! And get some FREE medicare with his public and FREE health insurance provided by who? That's right, the government.
Also, when I checked this morning, the DOW was on the rise! Good trend so far. I think the 700 is great!

How could the people of my homestate put this loser/liar back in the Senate? He better enjoy his last couple of years because I don't think they will make that mistake again.

You know, the democrats just need to act like republicans for once and say, "fuck you were doing this, and we're doing it absolutely."

Sen Libermann has received an astonishing $6 MILLION dollars from the Health Industry lobby in recent years.
He is there butt-boy in Congress. He won't support any bill unless it gets more money to the Insurance Companies.
And he'll NEVER support a bill w/ "the public option". He may say he's voting agst the bill for another reason but that's it.
I do hope the Republicans will nominate some1 who supports the American Public & we can get rid of this jerk-face a-hole Libermann.
