  • LOVE Zachary Quinto!!!!!!! xD

  • old fuck

  • i thought it was fake spock meets real spock.

  • Spaaawwwwhhhhhhck...

  • why are they showing the evil spock with a beard from a different parralel universe when talking about old spock?

  • and chris pine

  • i would like this guy like a strawberry lollipop

  • 7 people are Kingons

  • @theJedicharles more like "A.1"

  • Seriously don't understand so called "fans" of Star Trek who bitch and moan if something is made that they don't like. I'm a fan of all things Star Trek. I enjoyed every series and every movie. Don't take the fictional universe too seriously. This is an alternate reality, enjoy it for being different. Don't hate it.

  • @ugotpwnzored hug incoming from torchdexto to you.

  • And and .... and and ... and and

  • 1:02 why are they showing clips of the evil spock, and they dont mention Karl Urban as McCoy

  • WE WANT CONTINUED ! (Click like)

  • Thx Abrams for raping Trek. You took everything that was great about it and ruined it.

  • @painkiller1968 yes...totally agreed.

  • lol allstate tv spot

  • It's not a prequel, honeypie.

It's an alternative universe coupled with time travel.

    Don't these reporters get briefed?

  • @TheJediCharles I agree... the tv series Star Trek Enterprize was a prequel. Not this recent movie.. haha

  • @jr52990

Yes. You know, as long as this alternative timeline continues, there might be the need for a new term to distinguish the two separate timelines, such as Trek, Line A and Trek, Line B. Because, both are "reality, yet separate; associated yet not the same."

Ignorant outsiders will sound like this reporter, but this new Trek is the largest, astronomical departure ever taken, it's total, basically rendering "Trek A" moot, particularly forward. Also, STE is the prequel of "Trek A" only.

  • @TheJediCharles I think they didn't want to give away the "surprise".

  • @skpsarah

It was not guarded information. It was not a surprise. It was on the official Star Trek site at the time.

  • @TheJediCharles ah..ok. I didn't know that. I did my best not to watch to watch the trailers or read the info prior to seeing the movie. I wanted to watch it all in the theater. :-)

  • @skpsarah

Yes, I hear you. I try to do the same, but it's hard to avoid spoiler exposure these days. You make me think, though, that maybe this reporter's misinformation was actually a service, by perhaps reversing spoiling. :D

...well, maybe that's giving her too much credit.

    ;)

Hey, let's hope the sequel is just as good as this movie was.

  • 7 people thinked that they would see Justin bieber on this video :P

  • What was with the random scene from 'Mirror, Mirror'?

  • ha eyebrow

  • MY BRAIN JUST ASPLODED

  • but pon farr is vulcan, it is normal for vulcans during a certain time become crazy that they would do anything for there destine mate. but this ahurah-spock thing, was just for tits and ass. it was stupid, spock would never do that especialy in this situation, and ahurah was never a smart ass bitch. it is like grabing star wars and making princess leia having a affare with chewbacca. personaly, if they made it a little bit less teen friendly and more like TOS, it would be 100 times better.

  • @88pie88 i thought the movie was PERFECT,, i never get why some old fans get mad and didnt like it,, i mean these are the very young characters, who are not the fully matured characters u seen on the show yet, or old movies,, they are still learning and growing, and becoming who the will become,,, even spock is still growing,,, but anyway i thought this movie was 10 times better then all of the old original movies,, and i cant wait for part 2 to come out

  • @JOKAWILD26 You want to know why "some old fans get mad and didn't like it" Because for 40+ years of numerous series and 10 movies writers have been 'trying' to adhere to ST Law and canon. The whole ST world is based around what came before. Then here comes JJ Abrams who thinks it's best to start again and create a prequel that is in another timeline or different future. The sheer arrogance to toss out all that came before. Anyone with half a brain could have taken the easy way and done that.

  • @sonyfier thats why its called & considered being in a ALTERNATE universe,, a differ dimension, for the fact, that old spock went through the black hole, and changing things in a whole different universe, not his, but an alternate one, you allways have your old movies and show's to watch,, they will allways be their, or on dvd, their no need to get mad at this new movie,, comic book movies and comic books in general, have tons of alternate universes, if it bothers u, then just watch old ones

  • @JOKAWILD26 You asked why, so I answered. Whatever label you put on it, it diverges from the timeline of events that we all know as canon that setup everything that came afterwards and everything we watched. It messed with GR's tale of the future, the foundation and past of characters we knew and loved. If it's in an alternate universe and messes with the very foundation or bible that GR setup it's NOT Star Trek and that's what JJ failed to understand. It's entertaining but without respect.

  • @sonyfier if anything this SAVED startrek, startrek was DEAD dude,, honest startrek was fading away, & being forgotton,, this actually revived & SAVED star trek, from being forgotton,, & in the movie having old spock, goin through a blackhole, and changing things in a differ (Dimension), an alternate universe, their nothin wrong with that, u can still watch the old ones, their on DVD, william shatner and leanard nimoy both liked this movie, damm dude, be more open minded and creative,

  • @JOKAWILD26 You're entitled to your opinion as am I. So "damn dude" try and allow me to express mine without accusing me of being closed minded. It is 'my' opinion that if writers can't remain true to what came before then they should leave it alone. I would rather see the franchise dead then rebooted to some abortion just because they felt it was too hard to work with what came before. I won't try and change your mind just because you feel differently.

  • @sonyfier well im glad that your not in charge of it,, cuz your oppinion is wrong to me,, becouse this movie ROCKED !! better then all the star trek movies that ever came out before,, and i am a fan of the 1960's tv show,, and it has nimoy and shatner's blessing both,, thats good enough for me

  • @sonyfier I think the reason you were being called close minded is because you sort of are. I'm not trying to be harsh but I understand where you're coming from. Anyone who loves something dearly will always be hesitant to change. I was never fan of Startrek and I always saw as stupid and cheesy. This movie changed the views of not only myself but thousands, perhaps millions other non fans. I even went back and watched all the Star trek series. This is a refreshing look on a familiar story

  • @sonyfier I think the reason you were being called close minded is because you sort of are. I'm not trying to be harsh but I understand where you're coming from. • I've been watching trek since the 60's and this last one was by far the the best Trek ever made !!! No kidding !!!

  • his ass wipe will never be spock in my eyes. i mean he kisses a human wtf??????

  • I couldn't help myself but think of Sylar everytime i look at him:s

  • She pronounces his name correctly.

  • ...Leonard NIHmoy...NIHmoy...not NEEMUY. BAD NARRATOR LADY!! BAD!

  • @ilovetruffles99 Actually I'm pretty sure she's pronouncing it correctly.

  • @LibertineDeSade no, no she's not.

  • @ilovetruffles99 It's definitely pronounced NEE-moy. That's how I pronounced it, until my dad told me he was pretty sure it was nih-MOY. So that's how I pronounced then for a long time, until I saw an interview and Leonard himself said NEE-moy.

  • SYLAR!!!!!!

  • Wow, woman is talking about Star Trek!

  • Leonard Nimoy has become a "dick head". This movie sucked Ferengi balls!

  • Having watched all the films I could definitely put my two pence in and say that after "Nemesis", the franchise was ripe for a reboot. And to be honest, I thought everyone did brilliantly; not too reverential but not too distant to be controversial either. It's my favourite film and I can't wait for "XII". I just hope they don't screw it up...

In short: please take your arguments to the Messaging box because personally I don't wanna hear them? Thanks. Bye.

  • @CaitlinRixOfficial "I just hope they don't screw it up..." congratulations, you just jinxed it.

  • "an insult to gene's memory..."

    Absurd deduction...

  • I wish total strangers didn't feel the need to argue with each other over what being a "real fan" is about...it's just really childish. If you like this movie, great. It you don't like, that's perfectly fine. Although, i suggest if you don't like it then you shouldn't be here

  • I hope to see more Star Trek movies in the future the present cast of Star Trek.

  • Thoroughly enjoyable. Looking forward to the next installment, hopefully with the same great cast. Dorks, complain and whine and bitch to your hearts content.

  • And he's just reading. I hate bullshit interviews were the actor/interviewee just looks down or to the side and reads what is given to him. Such a lie just speak your mind slave.

  • Quinto did an excellent job, as did Chris Pine, Simon Pegg (funny!), and Zoe Saldana. Perhaps the most frightening of the performances, though, was the way Karl Urban absolutely channeled DeForest Kelly as Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy. The scowl. The eyebrows. Great work!

  • god I love nu!spock but I keep having my "serial killer, run" vibe from Heroes messing with me...

  • whats with the MIRROR MIRROR clips

  • @MINIHermanator lol was thinking exactly the same

  • I saw this movie, and I expected to HATE it.

    But I liked it alot.

I wouldn't say LOVE but I liked it.

  • Love the film. It was a breath of fresh air after all that dreadful challenger parables in space. That stuff is like a cross between the little house on the praire and cheese in space.

  • "He's a great man, we both have peculiar eyebrows..." What a tool.

I liked the movie though. I'm just a bitch.

  • 0:32 he looks hot, but high

  • come on...all this guy is doing and could ever aspire to do is copy the real deal...helloooo. thats what being cleacheed is all about. We are evolving...

  • The 2009 movie was my first taste of Star Trek but I loved it so much that I've started watching TOS and the movies, and they're absolutely fantastic! I'm grateful to nuTrek for introducing me to the series and very excited for the sequel in 2012!

  • @SakuraX7 There's a sequel?!

    EEEEHEEEHEEHEEEEEHEEEHEEEEEEE! 8D

  • @BrightStarCat I just did the same thing aloud! :D Bbrrrrhahahhahaaaaaa!!!!!!!!

  • I don't mind people who've only watched the new movie, but when they claim to be Trekkies without even watching the original series I get annoyed. I do like the new movie though :)

  • @hay1lin I watched the new movie, felt horribly and painfully uneducated in Star Trek, and immediately jumped into watching the old series. I have to say, one of the best choices I've made in life.

  • @DancingInTheRain73

    Live long and prosper, brother.

  • @hay1lin They're both very different things. The original series was all about philosophy presented in a science fiction setting, whereas the movie was more just a bunch of badassery. I really like both too though

  • Honestly i dont get why "old-star trek" fans are complaining about this movie, i am also a great fan from TOS, and i just LOVED this movie, really LOVED it, the special effects make it look so real, it's so magical, also, the characters they still looked so interesting, i really liked it

  • I dunno Im a fan of Tos and I still like the movie

  • @thereddog223 You’re not a real fan then. Only a real fan would stick to what Gene's vision was and never embrace a bad version of his classic legacy.

  • His wife wrote the plot so who is the true fan now

  • @thereddog223 Actually, You are wrong. I read the credits. The only thing she did for the movie was the computer voice. You have been reading roomers, lies. The whole stupid movie was written by Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman. Majel Beret Roddenberry had nothing to do with the plot or story regarding the new movie. She also did the computer voice for the fan films Star Trek New Voyages and Of Gods and Men. Swish He SCORES! Crowed goes wild, and thereddog223 eats Crow!

  • @Trekfreek A Trekkie/Trekker loves Star Trek. And it's a love that has no boundaries. It is not only possible, but confirmed that fans of the prime Star Trek can also embrace Jar Jar's version. We don't love this movie because it has a couple of shit heads named Kirk and Spock, and a ship that just happened to be named Enterprise. Rather we saw everything that makes Kirk and Spock who they are, and what the Enterprise represents. And we are not ruled by hate like you are.

    Trekkie? Please

  • @Potrimpo Wrong again. A true Trekkie or Trekker loves only the Star Trek that honor Gene Roddenberry’s vision and memory. As for what makes Kirk and Spock who they are I quote the real Kirk "Pain and guilt" "Makes us who we are. We lose them we lose our selves." By changing Kirk's and Spock's past (AKA their pain) you change Kirk and Spock. Also the real Enterprise represents planet earth, not explosions. Also if I was ruled by hate I would not be so polite to people like you.

  • @Trekfreek Trekkie/Trekker: A fan of Star Trek.

Fan: An ardent devotee; an enthusiast.

One can be a fan of Star Trek whether or not one enjoys or supports Reboot. To attempt to elevate yourself above other fans makes you nothing but a bigot.

... And also a 'dickhead', according to Mr. Nimoy himself.

  • @Liz0A. Wrong again. A bigot is one who hates people for being part of a race or group. I don't hate you. As I have said over a thousand times now you can like bad movies all you want. All I'm doing is pointing out why this movie is bad and why I and others believe that only a true fan of Star Trek would only indorse trek films that honor Gene Rodenberry but not flash bang movies that have the name Star Trek on them. I don't hate you, but obviously you people hate me. So, who is the bigot?

  • @Trekfreek 'Again'? I believe you have me confused with someone else. I don't believe I have talked to you before.

Bigot: a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion. Please consult a dictionary next time. Intolerance =! hatred. Your refusal to accept any Star Trek fan's enjoyment of this film indicates a strong intolerance indeed.

  • @Liz0A You must consult a better dictionary. Bigotry is only referring to people or group of people. The definition I gave comes from a Websters Dictionary. Entertainment does not fall into that category of bigotry. However telling people that they are bigots because they hate entertainment you like does fall into bigotry. You can love this movie all you want, and I can hate it all I want. However, anyone who calls themselves a trekker or trekkie who likes this movie dishonors Gene's memory.

  • @Trekfreek

That is the most unbelievable and utterly ridiculous statement I've ever heard. by that reasoning, allowing star trek to be forgotten and die in your generation would have honored Gene's memory. I'm pretty sure Gene would have loved to see his creation evolve and sustain through the ages, just as any writer would, as opposed to being handled by a cult of overzealous fanatics who seek to destroy any attempt to retell this fantastic story. Yea, he'd be really happy about that :/

  • @StimulatedMindz Not forgotten, just no more new ones till the writers & producers learn to get it right. Gene would like to see it evolve but not devolved into a pile of mindless mush like ST:XI. Gene believed in going forwarded, not back. By bringing back the original (especially a rip off) crew, you take two giant leaps backwards. "Overzealous fanatics" knows what Star Trek really is. You love the story then remake it into a movie with original characters see how much you like it then.

  • @Trekfreek I do not hate you at all; I do not know you. I have never met you, nor have I conversed with you to any extent. I have very little information with which to base an opinion on your character, and I do not feel any particular emotion to any particular extent towards you. Why do you believe I hate you? I do not believe I have ever indicated as such - I apologise if I have.

  • @Liz0A "To attempt to elevate yourself above other fans makes you nothing but a bigot... And also a 'dickhead', according to Mr. Nimoy himself." By calling me a bigot without knowing me is a sign of hatred. Also I have never elevated myself above other fans. I only pointed out what makes this new movie bad and why it insults Gene's memory. PS. Nemoy was making a joke on Saturday night live.

  • @Liz0A One of my YouTube friends did not accept my friend invite till after I changed my background to the current one. It might be just a coincidence but I feel this is conformation of my belief that Gene would have hated the new movie because this YouTube friend knew Gene personally. I won’t drop his name because I don't want him to get into trouble with his bosses.

  • @Trekfreek I must also respectfully opine that I see very little that I would consider 'polite' in your comments.

  • @Liz0A Also, Who taught you the meaning of the word "polite"? “Polite: 1. Well-mannered: showing or possessing good manners or common courtesy. 2. Elegant: socially superior to ordinary people and considered refined or cultivated.” There is nothing in the dictionary that states that I must agree with you or treat your comments with kid gloves. I never insulted you personally or accused you of being inferior. So start acting like an adult and stop winning about “Trekfreek is being mean!”

  • @Trekfreek I never indicated that politeness required agreement. However, one can be rude without direct insults - your belligerent manner of speech suggests impoliteness, though that may be unintentional.

Furthermore, does not a segregation of 'true' fans and fans of the movie suggest that very accusation of inferiority to which you deny? The use of the word 'true', in itself, suggests that all others are to be 'false' (or inferior). If I am incorrect in my assumptions, please explain.

  • that's not fair!!! I've wanted to meet mr. nimoy since i was a little girl, and this guy probably didnt know who he was till he started acting on the newer, crappier version of star trek!!!!!!

  • Reminds me of Heroes ;)

  • I like the movie and how they change the storyline with time-traveling Romulans. However, I didn't like the "sexed up" nature of the movie. "Star Trek" is suppose to be a family experience. Also, I hated that they blew up Vulcan.

  • @Frost3784 It's funny you said that because from what I remember in seeing all the originals, the movie was a lot less sexed up than I expected. Especially the females' uniforms. lol

  • @Axxidous The show was far more reserved in the movie. You never saw Kirk in his underwear or actually trying to do the "deed." At most, it was implied, and in a few episodes at most. In most cases, Kirk would actually fall in love with a lady. In the new movie, Kirk is just looking for some "fun." I didn't like the inclusion of the Orion Slave Girl (the green girl). They just threw that in there so fans can go, "oh, they included an Orion Slave Girl!" She didn't act anything like they...

  • @Frost3784 Kirk is younger in the movie and is also a rebel before becoming a captain. But I was referring to Star Trek in general. It always felt like there was a sexual vibe now and then in the show and it felt like a typical mature TV show for adults.

I think they included the girl merely because it was an option to show a diversity of species in the movie.

And yeah I think it was to show a younger and edgier Kirk. It's a movie after all. The girl thing's only at the beginning anyhoo :]

  • @Axxidous Being a "rebel" isn't part of Kirk's backstory. The show and older movies refer to him as a bookworm at that age, not a rebel. As for "Star Trek" in general... the movie is based on the original show, so I'm talking about the movie's "sexual nature" in regards to the original. I get that they wanted Kirk to be young and edgy, but... it just didn't work for me. Once they got him on the ship, he felt like Kirk. Up till then, Pine's Kirk felt like something out of a teen flick.

  • @Frost3784 Hmm, strange. My mom watched Star Trek when it first aired and she said it was pretty close. But I didn't take it into account since the movie was a reboot anyways. *shrugs*

Hmm, well they achieved whatever they were going for and received overall approval. The movie actually did better then nearly all the previous Star Trek theatrical films. I liked it even.

  • @Axxidous ...did on the show. She was green just for the sake of being green. She could have been human, and it would have played out exactly the same. It was mostly Kirk's sexcapades that I didn't like. He was not out of control like that in the TV show and especially in the movies. Maybe the idea was to resemble a younger, edgier Kirk. In the show, he was said to have been a bookworm when he was in the academy.

  • what's the song's name pls from the beginning PSLPLS PLS :X:X:X love it love spock AND DAMN NBC FOR CANCLING HEROES X(X(X(X(X(((

  • @goldandsapphire When I saw the scene where he's choking Kirk it was like "oh chop his head Sylar" :D

But I liked his Spock performance, it's not his fault they made Spock emotional character. But I think his actions were understandable, He was young he needed the money, whatever, he wasnt that mature man we see in TOS They explain his emotionality by destruction of Vulcan In TOS Spock was indeed influenced by the death of Vulcanians But I must say I totaly hated Spock/Uhura romance Spirk get.

  • In the new movie; Spock was more Sylar than a Vulcan. He's even more temperamental than the (evil) Mirror Mirror Spock. Marooning Kirk on Delta Vega just for *arguing* against him? And the whole thing with Uhura. I could go on. I was left wondering if he was on spores or undergoing Ponn Farr. Yes, thumb my comment down if you please. I'm civil enough.

  • @goldandsapphire I 100% agree. I finally saw the movie just 2 weeks ago and while it was entertaining it made my Trekker skin crawl at the same time. I boycotted the movie but figured it had been long enough I should watch it. My biggest let down was my most favorite char for 36 years now and that was Spock.

    Too human in this incarnation.

  • @GhostOfACPast Hmm, I think the "too human" thing was the point. xD For him to show that he had human emotions. This was him when he had just started trying to control his emotions, so of course he's not perfect at it. At the same time, he IS half human so it's difficult for him to control his emotions so well when the plot revolves around the death of his mother and destruction of his planet. And considering all that, he kept pretty Vulcan to me. The future Spock was more emotional.

  • As I walked into the theatre, I told my girlfriend I expected three things: 1) Address how Kirk got the middle name "Tiberius". 2) Explain "bones" nickname. 3) Feature Captain Pike. Check, check, check! LOVED the movie!

  • @pburto I think in TOS "Bones" was a shortened version of "sawbones" which is what McCoy was - a surgeon. I think Kirk says it in one episode or another, can't remember which.

  • i will never accept quinto as spock until he can raise his eyebrow like nimoy! but when he does i will be happy to idolise him.,

  • @Milkpaw Umm, well he did do it once in the movie. Unfortunatly the make up on the eyebrows is slightly differen't. Quinto's aren't as sharp looking as Nimoy's...so that isn't really fare, since he did in fact do the eyebrow thing.

  • I almost pity the villian in the new Star Trek. He's up against two Spocks!

  • YOU ROCK ZACH!

  • I love how they managed to get Leonard Nimoy for this movie.

  • Gotta remember too folks, this Star Trek takes place in a alternate universe due to the breach of the Time Continium by Nero... so try not to read too much of the old Trek into it. I liked the movie due to the fact that I didn't regard the old series when watching it too much.

  • Zachary Quinto is the sexiest man alive! He is probably one of the main reasons I went and saw the new Star Trek.

  • lol so i geuss these guys are pretty sick that theres a part 2 coming out....he he

  • Comment removed

  • @spunkyspano

That's good enough for anything else, but for me, that's not good enough for Star Trek.

To me, what made Star Trek was the pompous, preachy, moralistic attitude. Kirk providing the action, charging in like Errol Flynn. Spock adding cool-headed logic. And Bones the grumpy but lovable caretaker of hearts and bodies.

If I want action, I can dig up old episodes of The A-Team, or Fear Factor. Or Star Wars.

If you like it this way, fine. But let others disagree with you.

    Please.

  • @spunkyspano I dont understand what you mean, "a decades-old franchise that has definitely lost its luster." Star trek has been my inspiration for many things. I think you should step back and say that you personally feel has lost its luster because you definitely don't speak for the rest of us.

  • @spunkyspano Hmm, maybe I'll give it a shot... for old times sake.

  • @spunkyspano were you watching the same movie? I mean i'm a rather new and casual fan of trek and the original series is what i've seen the least of, but i still thought this movie was pretty bad. For one thing, they play epic climax music during every second. Since you can't be excited for a straight hour you just get burned out and then really annoyed by it. Also, well, nothing reallly happened. I mean bad guy shows up, makes threat, gets defeated, end story.

  • @spunkyspano

I dont like star trek, because I've never been a fan but this movie was very good.

  • Wow those two together was quite a site :) A wonderful movie indeed

  • I think my heart would just stop... simply stop.... if I ever met Quinto and Nimoy at the same time... ^_^; All the awesome would just make my heart break...

  • @bloodypirates247 agreed :P

  • That kid had big ears to fill and who would not wanna hang and talk with NImoy?

  • I would completely support logic, I wish I succed, it s theory but such attractive one.

Yeah very hot actors.I have to lose weight maybe I ll get a chance.:))))

  • Why on earth did they choose Mirror Mirror to showcase TOS? Sure, pick the one episode where Spock is ruthless, evil, and has a beard to showcase the original Spock for contrast against Quinto's Spock. Though come to think of it, there is a distinct resemblance. Must be all that time playing a psychopathic serial killer.

  • People who critisize the new star trek are missing a huge point: if back when star trek first came out they had the technology they do now, it would be as equally "played up". We aren't looking to "replace" star trek, just amp it up now that we have more advanced technology.

  • hehehe is it so weird i like spock better that whats-his-face? oh well! :P

  • ((Leonard Nemoy lol total nred like that tee-hee))

  • @VictoriaGina Er, what whats-his-face? Kirk, Bones? Maybe you mean you like Quinto better as Spock than as Sylar? Or do you mean you like NuSpock better than Nimoy's Spock?

But no, having a preference for one fictional character is not considered 'weird' unless it is taken to unhealthy extremes, no matter how you opinion may differ from the norm.

  • No, I mean I like new Spock better than Kirk. I think hes called Kirk... the one played by Chris Pine. And I think Zachary Quinto is hotter as himself than as Spock, but I still like Spock better than Kirk. Understand? haha

  • xD New to the Trek, huh? Yeah, Pine plays one James T Kirk. And there are many, many, people who like Spock much better than Kirk, to answer your original question. Though neither of them would be half so much fun if the other weren't there. The whole is more than the sum of the parts. xD

  • i seriously read that 3 times until i understood it.

and i agree its much more fun with both of them.

but wouldn't the sum of the parts be the same as the whole? so actually the whole is better than the separate parts. riiight?

  • I apoligize for not being clearer. xD

In pure edition, yes, the whole is equal to the sum of its parts, and greater than any individual part. But in application there are cases, such as the combination of Spock and Kirk, in which the result of the combination is greater than the combined results of either lone part.

Continued in less... Spockian terms next comment.

  • So, let's say you could bottle awesome. If you bottled just Spock's awesome, and bottled just Kirk's awesome you would end up with the combined awesome of the parts. We'll call it ten bottles.

But when you combine Spock and Kirk, and bottle the awesome of the combination, you end up with fifteen or maybe twenty bottles of awesome.

The awesome created by Spock and Kirk in combination exceeds the cumulative awesome of Spock and Kirk individually.

McCoy fits in, too, but I'm at my limit.

  • I get it. Glad you got my point too. And I'm compleatly new to this "trekie" thing, just so you know.

  • i luv spock! sooo hot!

  • It is Eerie how much Zachary Quinto looks like Leonard Nimoy. Spock is the Straight Man to the Realm of Star Trek. everyone leaned against him both Professionally and Personally. I wonder if Mr. Quinto fully understands the shoes he is filling. Spock and the Vulcans were never fully expored as Characters on the Original Series due to it only being on the air for 3 seasons. With only 6 TOS films there wasn't much time for that eith er. Young Spock is very much like A&E's Hornblower

  • as a thirtyfive year star trek fan i whole heartedly approve of the new spock.

  • Oh me too.

I was ready to hate him all up in arms, but then he was just lovely.

and both of them are drop dead gorgeous.

  • Why did they show clips from Mirror Mirror? Isn't that kind of misleading?

  • the real title of this video should be the sexy spock meets the awesome one.

  • Both are sexy. Both are awesome.

  • As poor as the sets were in TOS, there was a portrayal of philosophies, intriguinging questions about the unknown, the cosmos. This new flick is to corny. Yes, the cinematography is awesome, but where's the depth? I'm glad to see the series living on, but I truly think they are 'dumbing' it down.

  • It's just ONE movie though. TOS had a whole series and movies. I think their intention with the new movie was to make a blockbuster with enough action to thrill newcomers to the series but still show an alternate take on the series for the fans of TOS. I knew nothing of star trek but the new movie sparked a great interest for me and I just ordered TOS after watching the blu ray yesterday.

  • I love this alternate universe. Kirks death in Next Generations was....lame. This makes up for it in this new universe he could live to be an old man.

  • I <3 Zachary Quinto!!!!

  • O f course Quinto is referring to the nuKirk and nuSpock when he says 'at first they don't get along'...because we all know that in original Trek, there's never a moment in their relationship that isn't full of love and respect.

I loved the new movie and Quinto and Pine were both brilliant.

  • Um...the hell's with all the Mirror Mirror clips? That's not quite the right Spock, guys...

  • sylar

  • yep

    9/21/2009 heroes season 4 premiere

  • Nero waited 3 years for Spock to come. Spock only took about 7 seconds, so Spock might've thought, for a while, Nero wasn't ready. He was WRONG.

  • if you get the movie tie in book Nero waited 25 years and was imprisoned on a Klingon prison planet. when Spoke Prime mind meld's with Kirk he says "what was years for Nero, was only seconds for me."

  • did she said prequel. lol no, basicaly is a sequel

  • but it is them in the "begining" so to say.

  • in an alternative beggining changed by nero who comes from the original timeline.

in first contact, picard goes back to the past but that was not a prequel. why nero is any diffrent???

  • Because Nero succeeded in changing the future, while the Borg failed.

  • Mmk Trek peeps. Here's the thing. Leonard Nimoy is and was an exquisite human being. Zachary Quinto is likewise gifted. They are both talented and gorgeous in their own right...

    But in my opinion...

It is the character of Spock that makes them as sexy as they are. The quirks, mannerisms, and, let's face it, Vulcan physical/mental properties make Spock a sexy character quite apart from those that play him.

It is the combination that makes the dual bombshell we know and love today :)

  • fuck yah!!! XD

  • very nicely said

  • *tear* U just made my day .. Well said my friend.. well said.

  • I love Leonard Nimoy. I don't call him the OLD Spock, I call him the ORIGINAL Spock :) Zachary Quinto was a very good choice for a new Spock, but I would have to say I like leonard <3 something about him really fit the character to me.

  • True. Leonard Nimoy will ALWAYS be the original Spock. He brought that character to life. Although I also really loved Zachary Quinto. He was able to give us a version of a much younger Spock and he gave a spectacular performance. Both are great.I love them both. :D

  • Except that someday, people will say Zachary Quinto is the original Spock, since this movie is set while they're still in the Academy.

I don't like prequels. Star Trek should go FORWARD.

  • Leonard Nimoy is, and always will be known as the original Spock. No one can change that.

Besides, this is set in an alternate universe. It isn't really a prequel.

  • This clip says the movie is a prequel. I just hope they're wrong. That like Mirror, Mirror, we (those who can) will enjoy this without it destroying Star Trek as we know it.

Personally, I think Star Trek is becoming too much like Star Wars.

  • Well, I suppose in some aspects it could be considered a prequel, just setting you up for the actual storyline, but it's still technically a different universe than TOS.

Star Wars? Ehm... I don't know, I still consider it to be a lot more intellectual. As long as they add a lot more intellectuality in the next movie than they had in this one, it should be fine. I still don't think they're very similiar.

  • I miss the "pompous moralistic babble" from TOS.

Like "Errand of Mercy", one of my favorite episodes.

    Kirk: "We have the right...."

AYELBORNE: "To wage war, Captain? To kill millions of innocent people? To destroy life on a planetary scale? Is that what you're defending?"

To me, that is Star Trek. And I think it's what made Star Trek great, worth watching.

I'd like less focus on razzle-dazzle, special effects, and heart-pounding action and more focus on pompous, moralistic dialogue.

  • Not to say you call it that, but that's what it's been called.

Some people say Star Trek finally grew up when it stopped trying to be moralistic. But to me, that IS Star Trek.
