Nemov is amazing no question. This was his last Olympics and he deserved better on this routine. He really handled all that with grace and seeing his face while the crowd is going on and on you can tell just how appreciative he is of it. Whatever the outcome of that final he will never forget that.

First the 2000 Vault controversy (officials forgot how to use a tape measure), and then the TOTAL debacle in 2004 when judges/officials forgot how to add and subtract. I just can't watch gymnastics anymore.

Let's face it, the judging has always been a joke, but it reached new heights starting in 2000 and it has not stopped.

Just the fact to "change" the score because the crowd is loud proves the judges sucked. When you score someone, you take deductions when you have to. If there first score was correct, they won't have change anything. But they DID !! Enough for them to make stop the crowd (it faild) but not enough to put him into the medal. Frtunately Nemov's grat sportmanship saved the judges from this embarassment. To me HE is the OG!

Why am I not surprised that every gymnastics video ends up into a political debate. He was a victim of a bad judging system that didn't reward difficulty as much as it does now. This routine would have medaled in the new Code of Points.

Yes, this was a disgusting injustice to Alexei, but dont you think its wrong that pressure from a crowd can make the judges change their score? Which proves that the judges couldnt have had a lot of faith in their original very low score to begin with. What a class act Alexei is though; even though he had been done up like a kipper, he still appealed for calm.

I don't know much about the old code, but I read somewhere that they also might have deducted on the arms on his giants and when they bend, but that's about it really, blasphemy how even after they scored him again it was only a 9.762. Pirouettes are boring, we see even more pirouettes and less releases in the new code...mostly Zou Kai and his profession of being a male code whore.
