2:24, I was expecting him to say Hi hi hi there, and imagine if Mary said, Granny, what a great big.... thing you have, and the wolf would say, all the better to do a little of the old, in out, in out with you my dear.
From 3:13-3:15, what did the wolf say to Granny before he ate her? It sounded like he said "who goes, you're not oil pain are you" but, I'm not sure what he said.
When Reggie ate Mary's Grandma I was scared sh**less!! I remember going to sleep and waking up every hour or so cuz I kept thinking he was going to come out from my closet, growl like he did at 3:06 and eat me!
I was also scared when he ate Granny when he made the screen go black at 3:17.
(Since that part scared me, I was always scared to watch this Faerie Tale. I even remember when I was very young that I rented this Faerie Tale and "Hansel and Gretel" and "Pinnochio" when I had a babysitter at my house, and after we watched "Hansel and Gretel" and "Pinnochio", she then decided to watch "Little Red Riding Hood", and I said "no" while imitating what the wolf does when he ate Granny, telling her).
That's true. (I'm sure the directors and producers who made this Faerie Tale got a lot of young kids (including myself) scared when the wolf ate Granny. Probably they should have used the same way on how it looked when he ate Little Red Riding Hood).
Yes, it also did scare me too (it mostly scared me when I heard the wolf growling and Little Red Riding Hood screaming) but, I just found the part where he ate Granny more scarier than the part he ate Little Red Riding Hood.
@afriendofbean Likewise. I think because the part with Granny was shot from a first- person camera view so it really looked like the Wolf was lunging at you.
Yes, that's what I thought was very scary. With the camera going into the wolf's mouth and the screen fading to black at 3:17 made me feel very scared thinking when I was very young that the wolf ate me.
Maybe the thing that you found funny was when the wolf made the screen go black at 3:17 and Granny is heard screaming a little bit as he's eating her or, after he ate Granny, he had a fat stomach. (It used to scare me when I was very young when the wolf made the screen black at 3:17). I think the funny things in this part is seeing the wolf with a fat stomach, seeing him wear a woman's night gown and cap, the way how he talks imitating Granny, and how he almost forgot his line from 8:33-8:35.
hi hi hi there 'lil grandma' ! no time for the old in out, i've just come to read the meter...and EAT YOU!!! (because you're old and unattractive, but you know what they say, the old chicken makes the good soup! mheeheheeheheh >:))
Yes, I also used to be very scared when the wolf ate the grandmother when the inside of his mouth went inside the camera at 3:17. (When I was very young, I never even wanted to buy or rent this show all because of seeing the wolf do that. I was scared of this show. I guess the directors and producers should've made the wolf eat the grandmother the same way he ate Little Red Riding Hood without his mouth going inside the camera just so that young kids wouldn't get scared).
"Unlucky!" Haha. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that's may be a reference to the movie "O Lucky Man!", which for those who don't know is one of Malcolm McDowell's best and most famous films. Gotta love him!
@sweetvegan74 Reminds me of that "Robot Chicken" where the wolf is still wearing granny's clothes, and his wife is like, "It's been three weeks since you ate that lady, why are you still wearing her clothes?!"
I love it too. The only thing I wasn't sure was that, I wasn't sure whether the grandma forgot to load her gun or, when she pulled the trigger, she missed the wolf since at 2:57, the wolf turned around and looked at where the bullet went (if the gun was loaded) and before the grandma said "oops" at 2:59, she was looking at where the bullet went (that is, if she had her gun loaded). So I'm not sure whether her gun was loaded or, if she missed him.
I am surprised that they had the wolf eat the grandmother. Most people do not enjoy that part of the story so it is removed from a variety of sources.
Yes that's true. In most "Little Red Riding Hood" stories, they just had the wolf kicking the grandma out of the house. However, I know that some of the "Little Red Riding Hood" stories don't have the wolf eating Little Red Riding Hood. Sometimes, after the part where the wolf says "the better to eat you with", a woodcutter comes in and stops the wolf from trying to eat her, and sometimes the wolf is chasing her and the woodcutter stops him. (This is only when she doesn't get eaten).
I love when the wolf changes his voice every time he loses it!

Thank you very much. Now that I listen carefully I can hear him saying "who goes, you're no oil painting are you?"

Since Granny was sick, I'm sure the wolf could have gotten sick too for eating her where he would have gotten food poisoning for eating her.

Sounds more like he's raping her than eating her.
mcog2006 3 years ago
yeah, it's pretty weird. I heard that critics viewed the eating of grandma and little red as a Double rape.
MaryHelsing 3 years ago 3
Not to mention how impatient the wolf sounds when Mary takes a while to get into bed with him. XD
Jal8919536 3 years ago 4
Yeah, that was like a sexual innuendo! Why? because Malcolm's character is trying to get his wife's character into bed with him!!
MaryHelsing 3 years ago 8
I love the grandma in this version! She drinks, she beats up her attackers with a cane, and she uses a gun to blow a wolf's head off! LOL!!!
CreatorOfCaledonia 3 years ago 7
I agree. Grandma rules!! That is the same actress who played Happy Gilmore's grandmother. The wolf is hilarious too.

YEAH!!! I <3 THE WOLF!!

The grandmother's confrontation with the wolf reminds me of Alex's confrontation with the Cat Lady in "A Clockwork Orange" (1971). XD
