Very useful mods indeed. Ilea's garden looks awesome as usual, she truly has a gift for floral beauty. The Blade 400 looked awesome hovering over it with such a nice color scheme! 5 stars!
Hey Dave, I know you are busy but i have just one quick question. I got my third heli a few days ago, but it is my first fixed pitch helicopter. It came with a Lithium ion battery, and ive charged it right and ive tried just about everything and when i give it throttle the blades spin but it just doesent have any power, it can get off the ground but only for seconds then it loses power and slowly comes back down. Any tips?
i love the skids guys like me who fly on a budget can really use this. im new to helis i have learned to fly my exi 450 v2 so far i have at least 50 flights on it . i never thought i would wear out a heli befor i crashed it . but things are starting to get loose on it from flying.i am having so much fun..thank you
would be awesome if you posted a link to previous vids when you mention them. I have tried in the past to find a vid you mention that I haven't seen yet and have been unsuccessful in finding them.
It works and well at that so i do hope no one knocks it because i bet this video will help out loads peole who get stuck waiting on LG,thanks for sharing Dave = thumbs up,
The first time I bought a helicopter the salesman said I should start with a cheap training model. I said NO. Salesman said your going to take it home, take it out of the box, turn it on and break it--------It was the wildest 8 secs of pure terror in my livingroom . Hate it when people read me that easy!
this is just the kind of thing my dad does, although I was never really into it as I enjoyed having the actual parts, my dad would fab something up out his scrap boxes, I remember I had a heli where one of the gears stripped, and he found a gear with near enough pitch and he grafted it onto the gear of this helicopter, I am amazed at how resourceful my dad is and I am so glad to have him :) And yes now i do stuff like this :) Any excuse to make something!
That looks great Dave, sure works perfectly ! I made a cowl for my GWS Formosa couple of years ago, since the flimsy plastic stock one was so weak it was damaged after couple of fligths. The one I made even looks prety good in the air and is almost indestructible, cost me nothing but some cutting and some tape...lol Making it yourself is just so much fun and very rewarding, keep up the good work.
Excellent job! I really love your ability to think outside of the box and your can-do attitude. You are a true inspiration to all rc newbies out there. :-)
@SuperxMatt Thanks, well I un installed my Phoenix and have been hooked on Aerofly 5.5 since. I fly on line a lot with AF as my choice for what I think is the most accurate of all Sims. If you ever get that one, then there is a possibility you will find me flying. Keep up the good work and best regards, ~NightFlyyer~
Hey Dave, I sent you a PM, i was one of the 8,900 hehe. Anyway my PM was jsut about the gyro on my 400 and was wondering if you had any tips for the settings. Please also check my channel for my first blade 400 loops! Your vids have helped me so much, thanks :)
@SuperxMatt Thanks. Sorry about the PM as that inbox has become overwhelmed. My blade 400 gyro is set for minimum sensitivity and the single wire is not connected to any channel. I like a little help, but not as much as the gyro manufacturers think we need. I have gyros I can't turn down far enough! Since I learned without gyros on gas (see my response video above, where I fly a gas single rotor 10 Lb heli with no gyro) and I am happy you are flying so well. Best regards. ~NightFlyyer~
@Ramekenas I have certainly tried and own big electric helis. Search my channel for my E-Sky 900 electric Heli Videos or see my written reviews in Rotory Modeler Magazine, for more.
@DigitalMediaUK Big, heavy Nitro's I guess are still my favorite. Since electrics are clean and quiet, it depends on where I am flying. It's hard to fly the gas heli's in the gym you know. LOL Thanks for the comment.

Creative repair Dave! I've used lids, food containers, pop bottles, etc. to fix RC planes too. By the way, your landscaping is beautiful!
