what advice would u giv to a dude thats maybe planning on moving to "the hat" thats from a small city of approx. 11,000 ppl?

@pyrofan420 Hi Pyrofan... Medicine Hat is one of the cleanest and nicest small cities you will ever come across. You will find you still have that small town atmosphere and trust of the good people, yet have a lot more services than you had in a town of 11,000. I plan to move to Medicine Hat myself some day and everyone I know who lives there loves it and is very proud of their city and rightfully so.

This town is turning into a bullshit little town with to many imports and old people, and if you disagree with this statement then its obvious that you are either one of the imports or one of the old people and if thats the case it doesn not matter what you think because that would make you a waste of skin.

@12strawberrie You will love it here. Ive been o Denver several times and the landscape is very similar and the people are really nice in Medicine Hat. It is one of Southern Alberta's nicest cities. Welcome to Canada!

Born and raised there. It's changed quite a lot from when I were a wee lad. I live in Vancouver BC now, and have no desire to ever move back despite family still living there. It's a nice place to visit for about a week or so is my take on it now and only because family makes it bearable. :)

I spent 6 months at British Army Training Unit Suffield in '73. Had great times in "The Hat". The Sin Bin for rockbands on week nights and the Royal Canadian Legion for crazy dances on Saturdays. Pubs were shut on Sundays so we had a disco at our club in Suffield. Some great women Maureen from the Legion, Lois, and Murphy. Many more whose names I can't remember. Happy Days indeed!!!

@seekbetterlife rent is much cheaper, yes...and there is no PST. I was relocated here for my job 3 years ago after spending the first 30 years of my life in Toronto. Let's just say I go back every 6 months and cannot wait to return permanently. Actually, I was ready to leave after one year...I cannot stand it here. But if you're tired of the big city, it's definitely a big change (and culture shock). Personally, I would much prefer Calgary...but that's just my opinion.
