  • Simply epic. I was wondering if it's from a documentary? do you know if it's available? Thanks!

  • Best rendition, only the longer version where she says 'Hi', at the mike, has been cut off in this version, is better.

  • I am not into country music but that was kick ass - Her light voice and his deep voice blend well together - They sound great

  • June was like Janis...in another era.

  • this makes me so happy .

  • Fantastic

  • JOHNNY ROCKS JOHNNY ROCKS!!

  • amazing,,, I love it

  • The best version, love the part from 1.21 to 1.40 makes things happen for me. Exactly what I wont say.

  • The only comfort I find in this video when I tend to remember they are both gone and so is my Dad, is that they are All together now. God Bless!

  • JOHNNY ROCKS!!

  • Made me cry too

  • Keep in mind, this was performed in a Prison. Not exactly a comfortable environment, but they knocked it out!!!! Fantastic for the time or any time as that goes. They were both very relaxed and performed with an awesome ability.Peace,Rod:)))

  • I love the look on her face when he hits the harmony note and they sing the chorus.

  • That made me cry :(

  • talented family, also like his daughter's (rosanne)'s song 7 year itch, and september, when it comes

  • A great love story.

  • God Bless them both miss them and them days. this was a time when America was proud and a lot better off... Miss them days

  • Ditto the Man and June was perfect if only there was another xx

  • wish i coulda been around then too, but hey its still good even today :)

  • June Carter Cash is so cute, what a sweet couple. May they rest in peace.

  • i love them both

  • It does not get any better than that! Johnny and June in front of a captive audience!

  • LOL!

  • THIS is the KIND of woman I NEED TO FIND!!!

  • June saved his life, much like my wife saved mine, god bless them both.

  • Johnny used to listen to the Carters when he was in the army , he always said he was going to marry that girl and man he did.

  • June Carter carried her self with Grace & Class......

  • June may be the sweetist woman that ever lived--Johnny shot over his head on that one--

  • What a wonderful woman!!! she even smiles with her eyes!

  • And Jesus will say: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall June and Johnny say, Lord, when saw we thee in prison? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me!

  • june was a true woman, she stuck with him through thick and thin.

  • they were great people many blessing ive always loved there spirit ******************s

  • He's brilliant, she is just precious!

  • He "rolled it" both with voice and sweat and she "ripped it" like no other female in country music to date. You could tell when he looked down at her or when she looked up at him, they truly completed each other. He would battle out there as that 'BIG" fish, but she'd just step up to the microphone and reel him back in .............and he LOVED IT. Then they'd do it all over again. Ring of Fire, etc. They were the perfect DUO. Bad Boy & Good Girl balancing each other out.

  • What a DUO!!!!

  • wow they work very well together!nice song!

  • Buddy you got that right. They completed each other onstage and off.

  • This is my favorite song of them together

June sing the part with 'you big talking man... behind my jeypan fan (or something) 2 times, instead of 1 time and 1 time go comb your hair... see if I care.

  • ME TOO,ALL THE WAY

  • it's a fancy hand fan from Japan..she pronounces it Jay-pan. Great song.

  • Amazing performance

  • thats Marty Stuart talking at the end

  • This is San Quentin.

  • piperBrad13-

By all accounts this is actually San Quentin, their first concert there. I saw them enter the prison and comparing it with other prisons. Later in the video, he comments it, too. So, I'm sorry, but it is really SQ.

Hope I shed some light on it.

    My best, Yrs, H.

  • This is San Q. The programme was filmed by the UK Televison company Granada as " Johnny Cash in San Quentin" Excellent! All tracks were released on an LP but the entire show could be found somewhere. I have it on VHS.

  • lincsposter-

Yeah, thanks for the comment! I have it on VHS too, but of

course it lacks something in picture quality. However, we can be glad to have it - and that Johnny & June did the concert!

    My very best, H.

  • Well, love looks like June Carters shining eyes at 1:53.

I knew John couldn't survive that loss. He might have been run over by a freight & made it - but not losing June.

I am happy just to have seen them.

  • johnny is the best!!! and the american five is the best cd box but the vids are good tooo :D

    Johnny and June 4 Ever!!!

  • i always wondered if he was talkin about jackson TN, thats exactly where i live. i know he lived in hendersonville TN...

  • W.S. Holland, Johnny's drummer, is from Jackson, TN as well!

  • Its at San Quentin, its from At San Quentin-Legacy Editon

  • they are so cute together, they were truely in love.

  • They are sooo cute 2gether...!!

  • No one does it like Johnny and June!!

  • They are the best showbiz couple EVER

  • thank you so much for posting this!

  • rip johnny and june..we love you...

  • feel the love - here's the chemistry, hot as a fever -

  • they were truly amazing together and obviously sooooo in love xx

  • In this day and age they would never let something like this happen.

  • It would be nice if some musicans would do shows for the prisoners like johnny did

  • but hardly any prisoners would agree on what they like, in this time they all liked johnny cash

  • I wasn't talking about any particular artist just the thought of doing something like that

  • o ok, got ya

  • Hard to believe they're both gone. They were awesome.

  • this was at Tennessee State Prison and it was in December 1968 and they were marries

  • this was sanquentin 1969

  • If this is San Quentin, I'm George Bush. The whole concert and sound isn't like San Quentin, and i guess the film crew went in the future, since they were done filming when San Quentin was done.

  • Never mind Folsom was January 13, 1968

  • The date at the beginning was 1967, this would have been right before he got off drugs and was still chasing June. Their story is an awesome one. RIP June and Johnny.

  • folsom

  • thaaaaannnnnk yooouuuuuuuu Carters01 :D

  • This is not the San Quentin concert

  • Luther Blissets cousin was on drums

  • wow! thats why ive named my son after you rip john n june lets hope your old account was settleld N.K

  • Ah thanks!

  • Well that is like a music hall, you're right- in San Quentin it was very bright and not very nice like it is here. Put the camera angle is great, the nearest.

Was Carl Perkins Luther Perkins' brother?

  • Carl Perkins and Luther Perkins were not related.

  • This is not the San Quentin concert. This is some prison in the south- Carl Perkins is missing here and Bob Wooten filled in for him. I believe this prison was in Fayetteville Arkansas. I have this footage from a dvd called THE MAN THE WORLD AND HIS MUSIC.

  • id be sweating too if i were any near those guys in san quentin too. lol :). What performers, great couple, great music, original performances. thanx for posting

  • someone get that man a hanky to wipe that sweat off! lol

  • everytime before he went on stage he drank a whole bottle of beer in one gulp then ran and stage. He said the audience loved o see him sweat
