I know cooking is a task, but can you believe i went to a well known Harlem soul-food restaurant, and was served INSTANT MASHED POTATOES and CANNED CANDIED YAMS!
Nothing wrong with short cuts at HOME, but when I'm paying $40 for one serving of soul-food, please at least warn its not the real mccoy
I learned my lesson and am warning others - the food you receive may be overpriced and generic, stick with granny and learn from her so you wont have to pay and settle!
I love it, that's my kind of cooking because I am not a chef. If you are a chef why are you watching to criticize Chef Mel. I love your recipes because they are for us simple folk that don't have or want to take all day cooking. Keep 'em coming Mel.

The presentation is terrible...Your peaches are fake, Pie crust don't even fit the glass pan, then you add caramel on it.....What kind of mess is that??? NO I dont want to see this recipe ever again unless I want diabetes...
@pkeller82 I liked it, I think you are a bit harsh, some of us need simple and quick. Adjust it to fit your diabetes or use substitute sugar! Like with any recipe, we can adjust them to our liking or to our taste.

There is a difference between Peach Pie and Cobbler. Peach Pie only has a bottom and top crust. Cobbler has dumplings in it. mine is old school. And you have to have homemade crust. If you just can't make homemade at all, do what you need. You have to boil those peaches, add the dumplings and only put the top crust with a brush of milk and sprinkle some sugar on it. some people do the dumplings different Whatever works, but you got to have those dumplings.
Eeewwww!!! Canned peaches and store bought crust!! My mother and grandmother are rolling over in their graves. And that middle crust ..... no way it wasn't doughy. This is a no go for me :(
I made a Peach Cobbler from Paula Deens recipe and I had a perfect peach pie in 40 mins, not 90. I think I'll stick with hers...AND it uses butter lol

I make minds like this layered, i also add bourbon, but why does everyone use frozen pie crust, it's so easy to make one from scratch. It makes the Peach CObbler so much better.
