  • where's the dirty sound demo?????

  • 0:35 OOOOH love hurts... Awesome.

  • i hate how most of the retro pedals are gone, and they have this new boring design

  • reminds me of listing the classic rush :)

  • @northstarallstar not the same at all, 2 very different pedals...

  • if only electro harmonix made a chorus/phaser...

  • @JerrysDerby why not just use this pedal with a chorus pedal

  • i heard that this pedal affects the volume and kinda reduces. making it unsuitable for live gigs. how true is this??

  • @agentelectric It's very true. As with most all of their effects, a serious volume drop is noticed. Stay away from their pedals, that's what I say. Well, I have to be honest, they make SOME great effects, but not enough. You tend to have to spend hundreds for an EHX pedal to get something decent. Look elsewhere.

  • Handles bass frequencies better than any of them.

  • does thing run on a ac adapter?

  • @WASD9ox Yes, but make sure it's no more than 100mv (milli volts) or you MAY damage it...

  • @WeSaluteYou888 Huh?!? What do you mean?!? This effect must be fed @ 9V (9 volts = 9000 mV). At 100 mV no IC will ever wake up inside. You maybe refer to 100 mA. Yet, this makes little sense. The current rating of a PSU tells you the maximum current you can drive at a given voltage. So if the effect draws 100 mA, the PSU must be rated *at least* 100 mA. If your PSU is (say) rated 3 A at 9V, it means it can give you *up to* 3 A at that voltage.

  • @pyrotas This man speaks the truth.

  • Is it true, that when you switch it on, it slows down a bit the volume????

  • Please Help =D

I'm sure that more than one of you will want to murder me....

    1) please don't =p

    2) I still need some help xD

    I can't decide between the 1) Small Stone 2) Phase 90 3) Phase 100

    Suggestions? Anything?

    thanks! =D

  • @miru021 Small stone has a warm rich milky phase sound. Phase 90 has a more biting trebley phase sound.

Phase 100 has a completely different phase sound then the others. I personally like the Small Stone the best.

I would go to a guitar center and try them out.

  • @helpdonate1 thank you so much!! =D I'll go this week to try them out.

  • @miru021 ibanez pt9!!

  • the last one with the color switch off sounds like last kiss by pearl jam

  • nevermind just read older comments :D

  • Is there a diference between the nano version and the original small stone, besides being smaller??

  • @sungretsch I think the nano doesn't have a volume drop like the original.

  • This phaser has a wonderful way with bass frequencies, adds something the others dont.

  • I'm very happy to say that this review was completely free of bullshit.

  • i got this pedal and i think it sounds very good, but i also think that it really kills the volume!!

  • the start is like the collegehumor outro :P

  • good demo man nice simple, lots of playing thanks!;)

  • Nice Star Wars fade out at the end :-D

  • this thing is pretty awesome, but doesn't compare to the 70's small stone's richer sound.

  • does this have a volume drop or raise? i bought memory toy and it sucks, the tone is awsome, dark delay, AWSOME, but it has a volume boost, which makes the pedal unusable... is this one cleaR? i heard phase 90's have volume drops...

  • @TequeDiogo use your fx loop! it maybe will help you with the volume if your loop has a FX control!

  • @TequeDiogo I think some EHX pedals have volume problems. I've got a #1 echo. The effect itself is really good but it causes a volume drop.

  • @TequeDiogo YES Memory Toy boosts the volume. I had one and got rid of it. They also stop working when the daughter board becomes disconnected. Not their best effort that effect. I muchhhhhhhh prefer my MXR Carbon Copy.

  • I love the original small stone but can't find a decent working one these days. i head that these nano one's cause a decrease in volume, has anyone else had that problem?

  • @liveweyer I had one of these Small Stone nanos and I didn't notice any volume issues. I'm the type that doesn't like anything adjusting the volume either so I would have remembered. I'm actually thinking of getting another nano Stone.

  • @melindagreenjeans that's good to hear, i might be getting one of these soon.

  • @liveweyer the original small stone is awesome... definitely better than this one... but i still think this one is nice sounding.

  • does this add a gain and treble boost like the phase 90?

  • I have this.

  • phase 90 sounds better

    to my ears anyway :)

  • this is true bypass and the MXR`s are not true bypass

  • The only phaser by MXR that isn't true bypass is the '74 script one.

  • i don`t think so.Don`t get me wrong.I like MXR but i don`t like when they don`t make true bypass pedals.

  • 1:41-1:43

are my eyes playing tricks on me or does that knob move magically about 5-7 degrees after his hand turns it?!?

  • no it`s fucking real omg. Some mesa ghosts are mad at him

  • but it`s real i saw it that was a joke..

  • It was a fade transition to the next part, it made it look like the knob shifted but it didn't.

  • @zerosoma33 I also saw it, pretty weird...

  • good video the sound was a little low but i like the setting with the color switch off and the knob at 12 o clock!

  • I didnt hear any volume drop on this video it seems that they fixed that issue. The nano Holy Grail used to be a little noisy and they fixed that too.

  • Interesting that you say that... MXR was kinda the first "boutique" brand when they first started out way back in the day... Not that I'm dissing on them at all, just sayin. And for sure: I swear by my EHX pedals. Electric Mistress, Small Stone, Linear Power Booster...

  • Is there ANYTHING different between this and the original Small Stone other than it's size and lack of volume drop, (or does the volume drop)?

  • i hope not because they are a great price.

  • Compare them...you can find them at any dealer

  • There is: I own one of the old big mid 90s Sovtek greenies and the new nano. For one thing, the boards are entirely different (components are different and soldered different).

The Sovtek model is more bass-heavy and full than the nano. On the other hand, that's what accounts for the volume drop as well, too much of the signal filtered. The old Russian stuff is also really unreliable. I like the sound of both (the Nano is currently my main choice for live use), but they are different.

  • what is the name of the effect this pedal creates?

  • ...this is generally referred to as a phaser, or phase shifter...

  • phase shifting...Phaser for the fellas' xD

  • phasing, phase shifting

  • Christ almighty that's a good pedal. I've completely underestimated it until now.

  • This pedal is cool it fits on any pedal board i use it on gigs it is worth it get it

  • do all EHX products have true bypass?

  • alot of them, but not all of them.

  • is this one cheaper than the regular size? cuz sometimes smaller things may cost more

  • yeah, it is

  • Hi, just wanted to ask what's the difference between the Small Stone Nano and Small Stone full size?

  • No difference. It's all about size.

  • that's what she said....

  • I see no reason to go out and buy some 200-250 dollar phaser, this pedal sounds great.

  • Exactly! Botique pedals are completley overrated and overpriced. EHX and MXR are my bread and butter (but mostly EHX).

  • @TheBlackCrayon77 wat phaser pedal is 200 bucks?

  • @hyperphoenix11

There are plenty of 200 dollar phasers out there.

  • @TheBlackCrayon77 well damn i had no idea lol
