When this tape came out..it was like Madonna could hear my heart. My Dad was very abusive when I was growing up. When my mom was not around he would go on rampage...I would go in my room and BLAST this song..then "The Act of Contrion." That was at the end of the tape. bless her for writing this song. <3

I remember back in 1984 when living in Mary Graham Hall of Stockton, Ca. I was very depressed, almost suicidal, but then I heard 'Like a Virgin' and from then on, whenever I feel sad I listen to something from Madonna and it never fails to cheer me up. It's sentimental I suppose, but she will always represent a light at the end of a tunnel for me.
