Wow I need me one of them.... Girls that can ride like that it's hard enough finding friends that have the balls to buy a streetbike.
I had a high side crash exactly like that on my 07 r6 but I was going 74mph and didn't have race leathers, slid about 130 feet and totaled my bike. Survived and got a new r6 it's all part of the sport, real riders will at least lay a bike down once... If you don't, your not riding hard.
Nice riding, too much lean angle. Lead with your head, you get your butt off the seat but your head and shoulders stayed centered. Get off the bike more and lean less.
The best thing that happend on this high side was that fortunanty the bike caught grip and popped up rather then completly lean over and slide with you're leg still under it. Or maybe you're just so good that was youre recovery and you meant to do that to escpape the accident. lol
she looked really comfortable on the left hand corners but not on the right a lot of riders are like that ether ride right handers better than lefts or the other way round
Nice bit of riding in general but... IMO you are a bit crossed up on the bike.
Your arse comes over the seat enough but the upper body doesn't follow. Your head should have been low with the chin probably about in line with where the mirror is whereas if you look at the vid, it's not far off the centre of the bike. The result is that you're hanging off effect is reduced as a lot of your weight is still inboard.
Honestly, I think your lean angle was too great and you opened the gas too early.
i m sorry for rider. she can lean well and there s no problem about road but she fallows wrong line for all video so she always has problem about throttle and braking.
You look pretty good, but maybe try and change your lines a bit. You looked a little wide in a few. Get a good controlled entry, you will have a more stable mid corner and a stronger exit. Multiple corners, repeat.
damn thats attractive!!!! A FEMALE THAT CAN RIDE BETTER THEN MOST DUDES!!....thats a piece of equipment you cant find at any motorcycle dealer or after mark/performance shop!!
@barcode0954 Seriously. I'm sure I could come up with a few excuses like "we don't have roads like that up here" or "i've only been riding since march." But doesn't matter because shes a hell of a lot better than me period.
Irene that looked like your footpeg dragged prior to the accident? Hope you recovered well.
This was caused by a lean angle that was so excessive that any amount of throttle or rear brake would have caused a slide. Irene, you're undoubtedly a great rider and you've got some pretty huge balls, but part of surviving on the street is leaving a margin of error. You're not on a track, and you're not on slicks. Judging by your obviously high riding ability, maybe you should be. Glad you weren't killed. My rule on the street is "90% of what sport touring tires can do."
Well... i'm sure someone may have mentioned this... but your hitting those curves with the WRONG body position... your rear hangs off and your head remains on the opposite side of the tank... What happens when you do that is that the bike leans too much and all sorts of bad things can happen... ONLY about half a butt cheek should come off the seat and your head should be always be on the inside of the the turn... In this instance you should have had your head close to the right rear view mirror.
Well said, and I couldn't agree more. Too much lean angle due to insufficient body weight inside the bike and I'd guess the throttle was cracked a bit too early on an already compromised contact patch...end result, the rear breaks away and then grips again!
too slow :P i think you have a wrong position for riding, like some other said in the comments...When i go riding down with my R6,i'm 50% off the bike with my body during the turns,to have the best grip..i think your head is too much on the opposite side of the turn...u have to keep ur head near ur elbow +/- (ok i cant rly explain,i'd better make a video and post :P)
WOW ! ! ! ! ! AT LEAST UR STILL ALIVE I HAVE A R6 AND IM FIXING IT, IT WAS YELLOW AND BLACK NOW ITS BLACK WIT RED FLAMES ON IT DIS IS MY FIRST BIKE AND IM KIND OF A RECKLESS DRIVER AND IM SCARED DAT I MIGHT CRASH REAL BAD ONE DAY BUT MY FRENZ SAY DAT NO NEED TO SHOW OFF JUS BECAREFUL WEN I RIDE......
I hope you're way past the post-crash effects by now, Irene :) Question, please: What exactly went wrong? Yout waited too long in the turn or what? All the best :D
I'll check out her other videos, but this is what concerns me about bike riding. I would love to ride a bike. It looks like so much fun. But they seem to be very temperamental. It doesn't matter how good of a rider you are... when the bike wants you off, it sends you flying. In all the crash videos I've seen, I can never tell what the rider did wrong. It always looks like the bike just fails them.
@seattle0002 This is actually not true. It is almost AWAYS user error. It can be hard to see what the rider does wrong when you don't know what to look for. In this case the rider was simply trying to lean off the bike too far. It's almost like she was more focused on dragging her knee than having proper body positioning. This causes the rider to be "crossed up". It also appears that she "chopped" her throttle while at full lean. This will cause a high side.
@sameyeham You are wrong, she didn't have a problem with her body position. More than likely she started sliding because she came into the curve a little to fast, dropped the throttle and hit the front brake to compensate and caused the rear tire to gain traction and try to upright the bike which led to highside. Without her pushing thru slide, most people do what she did or try to hit rear brake which would cause a lowside. Problem is that its hard to use rear brake while dragging right.
@sameyeham Don't think she chopped it, I suspect she opened the tap too early ie while still at full lean, or to be correct, at more than where full lean needed to be-due to rider position.
hello irene, this clip is three years old so i hope you have fully recovered by now. i'm glad to see you got another gixxer. its a good thing you wear the proper riding gear, otherwise it could had been much worst. que dios te vendiga y valla con tigo siempre.
ouch, hope your recovery was quick! your a good rider, too bad you lost traction.I have to be extremely careful how I take corners my bike, once and a while it tries to get away from me...glad to see you where able to smile after that..its a shocker when we "bikers" go down the sudden realization of pain hits us then we get over it and get back on. I crashed in 1999 swore in the hospital to never ride again. got another bike and back on in 2006. continue to ride everyday still loving it..lol
Looks like you just ran out of grip on the rear by leaning it too much. Try to lean off your whole body instead of just keeping an upright position and moving your butt all the way off, upper body has got to be off also and you have to be tucked more.
fantastic riding there girl, doesnt look like you were too bad afterwards...hope you recovered quickly. Come across to the UK and see our roads...awesome. Are you back riding ?
WOW, NEVER SEEN I GIRL TAKING CURVES LIKE THAT, CONGRATS, WHAT HAPPEN??? TO MUCH REAR BRAKE ON MIDLE CURVE??? THE BEST PART IS WHEN YOU SMILE AFTER THE ACCIDENT. EVERYTHING LIFE HAS TO OFFER WE HAVE TO TAKE IT WITH A GOOD SMILE ON OUR FACES. TAKE CARE, KEEP YOUR LOVE ON TWO WHEELS.
hot chick on a hot bike handlin it like road racing. Not bad, impressed. No doubt you can lay it low. looks like you laid it so low it slid out, and you contered steer the slide which would catapulp you like that. Any how you got my vote....
Good to see a girl that can throw a bike around. Wish I had roads like that in my part of the world. Good to see your still in the game mate. Ride Safe
nice ride... try leaning off the bike though... your riding twisted and you can see it in the photo... might be worth looking into... when you corner move your body head and torso off the bike.... other than that its awesome to see a chick ride like that... nice work
inspirational! Wicked out mama. Way to fight through, heal and get going again. Also more reason for riders to follow your lead and wear thr right gear.
They dont have ride days where you are? no cops, cars, trucks, trees, animals, oil or dirt to worry about on a race track. get a group of mates together you have just as much if not more fun... just a idea
Irene congrats on recovery and the new bike ! Have you figured out what caused the highside ? Would be good i you could tell us, might prevent someone else from making the same mistake.
There are 14 vids under this account. Could you tell me which one to watch (I don't understand Spanish language, so if it's one of the videos in Spanish it wouldn't work for me).
@roynexus6 There are two reasons for highsides. To much gas or brake. It looked like around the apex of the turn she hit the brake causing the highside. Not sure tho. shes looks like a really good ridder. She just needs to not brake in the turn and she will be fine. Good Vid!
You might have already responded to this at some point but you were on the side of the road out of the lane after the accident? That's what it looked like anyway. So why did the guy pick you and got you to your feet? Was there no ambulance?
Just watching video and enjoying music thinking of how I would be expecting my tyre to slide ,and then it happend.I dont like fast tite bends.I brock my pelvis to, very badly & knee.I had a Epalepsy drift and ran state of the road on a new custom 185hp GSX1400.Please slow down on bends.I know of meny people that have had bad crashes on them, some killed.
Vsssssss !!!
HOLA QUE BUENA ERES EN UNA MOTO. LOS ACCIDENTES SUELEN OCURRIR PERO QUE VIEN QUE NO OCURRIO ALGO PEOR (NO FUE ALGO MINIMO). COMO APRENDISTE A PILOTAR DE ESA FORMA Y CUANTO TIMPO LLEVAS HACIENDOLO? SOLO CURIOCIDAD.
Like TheAllha, I saw the sketchy moments before the crash. You are a better rider than I am on my old zx-12r, but, as a self-check, anytime I blow the lines I pull over and punish myself with a time out and serious self-talking to.
Those were some nice turns. I am glad to know you're back and riding, but hope you're a bit more cautious or riding with folks who will check you when you fail to check yourself. 55mph in a turn with advised 25mph isn't speeding, but is questionable. I do it too.
That looks just like the guy who flipped it in front of me in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. I was happily putting along about 10 miles over the speed limit on my 1970 Triumph Bonneville T120 when he passed me in my lane in the right tire track on a blind right hand turn. He highsided, ended up crossing the line and went under a car full of kids pulling a camper. Pretty much ripped his arm and head off. The kids were upset. What can you do!!
looked like you had a couple of sketchy moments leading up to the crash. no disrespect but wouldn't you be safer learning on a track? you wouldn't have been sat there with a big grin had you landed into oncoming traffic. not only that but your clear lack of experience could kill other road users. don't try to run before you can walk!
great to see you back on the bike, im luky that i havent drolped mine into a corner yet but i have been hit by two cars so iknow the pain. love the new bike, and again glad to see your ok

Any how you got my vote....

nice ride... try leaning off the bike though... your riding twisted and you can see it in the photo... might be worth looking into... when you corner move your body head and torso off the bike.... other than that its awesome to see a chick ride like that... nice work

inspirational! Wicked out mama. Way to fight through, heal and get going again. Also more reason for riders to follow your lead and wear thr right gear.

They dont have ride days where you are? no cops, cars, trucks, trees, animals, oil or dirt to worry about on a race track. get a group of mates together you have just as much if not more fun... just a idea

looks like you nearly lost it on the corner before the one you highsided on too, lol.

Irene congrats on recovery and the new bike ! Have you figured out what caused the highside ? Would be good i you could tell us, might prevent someone else from making the same mistake.

Hi Irene,
There are 14 vids under this account. Could you tell me which one to watch (I don't understand Spanish language, so if it's one of the videos in Spanish it wouldn't work for me).
roynexus6 1 year ago
@irenecanary ---I could not find this video explaining why !
durgaaa 1 year ago
@roynexus6 There are two reasons for highsides. To much gas or brake. It looked like around the apex of the turn she hit the brake causing the highside. Not sure tho. shes looks like a really good ridder. She just needs to not brake in the turn and she will be fine. Good Vid!
thebrad277 1 year ago
You might have already responded to this at some point but you were on the side of the road out of the lane after the accident? That's what it looked like anyway. So why did the guy pick you and got you to your feet? Was there no ambulance?
Ouch doesn't even come close.
Maishley 1 year ago
@Maishley He pick me up because I told him to do it. A professional photographer that was there that day took me to the hospital.

I do it too.
epheseus 1 year ago
That looks just like the guy who flipped it in front of me in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. I was happily putting along about 10 miles over the speed limit on my 1970 Triumph Bonneville T120 when he passed me in my lane in the right tire track on a blind right hand turn. He highsided, ended up crossing the line and went under a car full of kids pulling a camper. Pretty much ripped his arm and head off. The kids were upset. What can you do!!

mdsp00001 1 year ago
looked like you had a couple of sketchy moments leading up to the crash. no disrespect but wouldn't you be safer learning on a track? you wouldn't have been sat there with a big grin had you landed into oncoming traffic. not only that but your clear lack of experience could kill other road users. don't try to run before you can walk!

Now you see what it means to have good gear on ya :D
