@LadyMaddy2000 When I was younger, I competed about every month or so, but now, with double axel and triples, I can't compete as much. The training is too important and difficult. I will probably only compete about 5 times this season in Intermediate.

Just Wondering How did u do all those jumps if you were in Prelimanary

@Breana6jbforever In Preliminary Freeskate, you are allowed to do all single jumps, including single axel and 2 of the first 3 doubles (sow, toe and loop), but in Preliminary artistic, you are only allowed to put 1 double jump of the 3 that are allowed at Preliminary in your program. I am in Intermediate this year and I am allowed to do 2 of the first 3 triples in the Freeskate.

@KathyKlamisme I am working on my triple sow right now and making the double as close to perfect as possible is the first step. I have to constantly remind myself to check after the 3 turn before the double sow. It is easy to just try to swing into it, thinking of getting the rotations. But, don't do that- you will land on your hip like I have many times. LOL. Make sure you check, then make sure the KNEE comes through and up. Good luck

hi, i'm currently working on loop jumps and sit-spins and on the loop jump (it's only a single) i can get half the way round but not the full rotation and on the sit-spin i can't make myself get into correct teapot position while spinning, do you have any advice, it's much appreciated :D

@xx5436 Loop is my worst double jump because it is all about the edge and not letting your shoulders get ahead of your hips. In the sit, believe it or not, the faster you spin, the easier it is to hold the spin and to get low. Practice shoot the ducks and that is your sit position. Good luck.

Hey, can you give me advice on how to be able to do the splits faster and how to go into them on the ice? I used to be able to do both splits on the ground, but it was before I started skating, and I didn't stretch enough to stay flexible. So now, 6yrs later, I can get about 4 in. off the ground in left leg splits, but nowhere near that for right leg. Any tips? I'm pre-juvenile level, landing all doubles except double axel, and that was a great double salchow, btw! Thanks, you're a great skater!

@julianaqtpi I like to watch tv so my mom had me do the splits sitting in front of the tv. I about a week I got all the way down. Once I could do it off the ice, I was able to do it on the ice. Good luck.

@julianaqtpi That will work, too. The thing is to spend a long time sitting in the splits- going lower and lower. In about a week, you will be all the way down. Watching tv keeps your mind off of the fact that it is uncomfortable.

@mrlottie1997 On the flying camel- jump wide and land flat with your back arched. On the axel- jump straight through with your first leg- lifting the knee. don't swing the leg around.

@maiselcat Yes- but she only weighs 63 lbs. She is landing double axels (cheated) in them and they are holding up well.

@maiselcat Thanks for your wonderful comments. Another nice thing about the Zero Gravity boots- Gia is landing 3S in them and they are still holding up amazingly!!! These boots have lasted 10 months now and are in wonderful condition. Gia trains 20 hours per week and prefers to jump above all else, so I would expect that the boots would break down, but no, not a bit. She has new boots in that she will have fitted next monday after her competition because these are getting too short.

@emilylte No. This program is for Showcase Nationals in Cape Cod in August. Gia only competes USFS, she doesn't compete ISI. Her next competition is June 4-6 the All Year Figure Skating Club Championships.
