  • Are you from Fine Tech?

  • @vroom350

Fine Tech? huh, nope. Just a guy with time on his hands. (That time)

    I am from Holland.

  • very nice job..yes indeed

  • @harleypiper

    Thanks Harleypiper.

I am currently working on a new machine. I will post another video when it is ready.

  • Good Machine Mate do you think could be work for shape surfboards too 6'.2" inch long if you put longs liniair bearings.

  • @Jose2010824

If you would make your machine big enough, yes you could!!

Take notice that the liniear bearings could bend over such a long distance.

You should use very thick shafts.

  • The z-axis sounds rough, are you sure that the motor is wired correctly?

  • Looks Nice...

    I have a few questions...

    Whats that "Noise" at 0:45???

Have u tried to cut, mill, machine any aluminum?

Have u used some plans or is this "out of your head"???

  • Dear Imit,

The noise you hear are the (3) stepper motors running at very low rpm. Stepper motors become weaker as their rpm rises.

I never tried to cut aluminium.

I built the machine from scratch. I first made all the drawings myself in 3D, then sticked to the plan!!

  • how much did it cost to build it

  • stepper motors & driver card: € 210 liniair bearings (11 pcs) € 100 liniar shafts € 40 Aluminum plates € 60 M6 stainless thread € 15 Power supply motors 2n hand € 8 Power supply card (from old pc) € 0 Ball Bearings for thread € 0 Piece of nylon hose (shaft couplers) € 0 Bolts & nuts € 10 2nd hand Spindle motor € 25 The look on my face when everything was working: PRICELESS!!! Where are you from?
  • lololololololol@ "the look on my face when everything was working".

  • I like all of the wacky noises it makes! Sounds like something from Star Wars.

  • @Grimgorus Sounds like a CNC machine /shrug. =)

  • what program r u useing

  • I use MACH 3 downloaded version. Software runs 100% and perfectly controls the machine.

Only limitation is 1000 lines of G-code maximum.

    Regards,

    Peter

  • so how much work would that be? can u add more after to the same "printing"?

  • Heyn Boxa888,

Basically you can "start where you left it".

So large complex g-code files would need to be cut in several files. If you have line numbers, no problem.

I must admit that I never tried that......

  • @peterismobiel You can download EMC2 for free and there are no line limits either.

  • Please send me plans and links to hardware, motors, software, and any data needed to build your machine. Nice job on your design. Thanks...Krish

  • maybe you want him also to send you the machine itself?

or come to your house and help you build it?

or even better come to your house and build it while you sit comfortably and watch him building it for you?

  • @xZeeMx Sounds like a plan! You set it up OK?

  • gate openers and shafts like that are usually connected by flex couplings like lovejoy

  • You are right. Unfortunately, my budget said otherwise!!!

  • great machine!! What did you use to couple the stepper motors to the shafts?

  • I used an improvised flex coupling.

A piece of pneumatic hose and two hose-clamps. Cost $5.00

That's it. Send me your e-mail address and I will mail you a picture.

    My motto is KISS!!

    Keep It Simple Studpid!!
