  • I punched my ear drum with Q-tips, I have to go for a Tympanoplasty. Does Your hearing get better now after surgery? I am scared because I will have a big scar aorund my back of ear. Is this better to get it done summer than winter?

  • omg i'm goig to have this type of surgery this Wednesday now i'm scared hehehe hopefully i'll be ok

  • how'd the surgery go martha0105?

  • thanks .everything worked out very well, my ear is very sensitive but does not hurt at all, but everything went well. thanks

  • thats good but just curious why did you need the surgery and was is nerve racking before the surgery?

  • Is your hearing better now after the surgery?

  • as another person who's had four of those things done, yes, it does hurt. you can't touch the ear at all for the first two months. it feels like dead flesh is attatched to your head. but that's only if they use glue. if they use stitches, it just itches. in the winter, its really sensitive, and it gets colder than the rest of the body very easily and it takes a lot longer to warm up too. as the nerves grow back, it can be very painful and will often require tylenol. it leaves a lumpy scar too.

  • ahhhh! what happened to that persons tymp. membrain? and after he dose that does the tymp. grow back?

  • Is taht a eardrum or something ?

  • Yes, it is reconstruction of the eardrum.

    Prahlad.

  • And the patient will be able to hear, right?

  • hopefully

  • That's wonderful.
