This was RIGHT ON!! Malwarbytes fixed my PC. I tried a registry cleaner that really messed things up. My virus software (mcafee) also had it seriously locked up. I've been scared ever since to reinstall any virus software, so have only been running with malwarebytes and has been good. Based on this tutorial, I might try avast!. Listen to this tutorial. @faheeta I like those better than the others as I think they tend to work better, but I haven't done any real analysis comparing and contrasting them. Those are the two I use and the ones you'll find in use by the people you hire to get rid of that junk but if you have programs you prefer that work for you, then feel free to keep using them.

@gravtex I'm glad you told me about these two programs. Spybot stopped working as well on Vista and up. Adaware works really well but seems to eat up alot of memory even after closed.
