  • kenneth branagh?

  • Name of the song please..

  • @Andyscatt The Way You Look Tonight... old classic pop standard by Jerome Kern. I'm fond on Frank Sintra's rendition, myself.

  • Name of the song please!

  • lol Imelda has a beautifull voice!!

  • I wish my christmas was like this. =)

  • Incredible..I only feel sorry for Stephen, seeing as they made him sing and dance ^^

  • it's so beautiful!

  • I cry every time I see this clip.

  • hughs mouth trumpet sounds better then most trumpetists

  • Peter's Friends is one of my favourite movies - kind of a British Big Chill. And this is my favourite ever version of The Way You Look Tonight, thanks for posting it!

  • @Koshka42

You know what? I think I agree with you. This is one of the best versions of this song ever.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I thought I had seen all of Hugh's musical performances via YouTube, but had missed this one. Saw the film ages ago, still sweet. Thanks again.

  • lol hugh laurie is married to umbridge in sense and sensibility. wow she really has a nice voice!

  • Haven't seen this before but its beautiful!!

  • oh my, is it strange that i find hugh's mouth trumpet one of the sexiest things ever? and the whole scene is pure beauty. the piano, their voices, their chemistry!

  • He's shockingly good at the trumpet too. And the actress who starts the song has an excellent voice.

  • That's Imelda Staunton

  • @GhostNellie WOW Thats Umbridge...

  • @masterble If you feel like it, check out "A bit of Fry & Laurie" : he played the piano and did that trumpet thing at the end of every episode, and one time he did a cute and oh so sexy thing with his tongue ... You can find it on Youtube. :)

  • oh hugh is so adorable, esp when he does that trumpet thing with his mouth... :)

  • How name this film?

  • It's Peter's Friends

  • Thanks :)

  • i NEED to see this movie !!! :|

stephen looks so cute cuddling emma.

  • what is the name of that song?????????

  • The Way You Look Tonight. It's an old jazz song from the thirties.

  • whenever i hear this song, i inevitably think of this scene; first time i heard it was in this movie

  • AHH I have this on my MP3 player! This is what it comes from! Thanks for posting!

  • hahahaha omg YES

  • I didn't know the evil teacher from Harry Potter had such a fine voice.

  • I know, Umbridge or something isn't it? She's a fantastic singer, It really shocked me when I first heard this

  • adorable!

  • beatiful! those are really actor!

  • I love this song, thank you for putting this video

  • omg...

where is this from? a movie? a tv show?

and what's fry doing hugging thompson? i thought she was branaugh's for a while?

  • It's from Peter's Friends, a really great, great film.

  • it's written in the uploader's comment, the movie is called "Peter's Friends"

  • and since hes gay, I think hell get away with it ;)

  • who??? Peter? old news

  • @owowowroo This is from Kenneth Branagh's movie "Peter's Friends", with (as you can see) Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, Emma Thompson, Imelda Staunton, Tony Slattery, and Ken Branagh himself. He was indeed still married to Emma Thompson at the time, but in the movie, she's trying to seduce Stephen Fry's character (unsuccessfully), while Ken Branagh is married, but not happily, and is flirting with the woman he's dancing with. Awesome movie.

  • what is this film?

  • Rather lovely. What's this "Peter's Friends" though?

  • For everyone who comments about these actors being in Harry Potter: you should check them out too in other films too. They are incredible actors and actresses--and you only get to see a bit of that in Harry Potter. I love the British! And I love the low note Hugh Laurie hits at the end of this song :) Imelda Staunton has a remarkably good voice.

  • i think Emma was engaged to hugh...

i think they liked each other a long time ago.

  • You're sort of right. They dated in college but were never engaged as far as I know.

  • que coisa maravilhosa...

vozes em perfeita harmonia , pianista talentoso e uma ótima música

    Excelente

  • and Imelda Staunton was Umbridge, and Ken was Lockhart.

So many Harry Potter connections to Hugh Laurie, but as a friend they use the same actors in everything across the pond.

  • Why does Emma give me the horn?

  • I'm pretty sure Emma Thompson was Professor Trewlawney...All of the English stars from Harry Potter are closely 'related'. you don't even need 7 degrees to match them up.

  • Also, Stephen Fry was the narrator for the audiobooks.

  • Beautiful voice!

lol hugh making trumpet noises XD

  • Wow, Imelda can sing!

  • ¡Y además canta! ¡que hombre!

  • see the woman singing at the start, is she that woman in harry potter that's obsest with pink? =]

    x

  • yes she is!! :D :D

  • Professor Umbridge! Oh my god, it is!!!

  • now i remeber where i recognise her from...

  • which movie is this? -ignorant swed

  • Peter's friends 1992. Some lovely acting, very funny bits but all that talent is rather wasted on a dull film.

  • It's beautiful, and I would love to see this movie, with all my favourite-actors/actresses. I've never seen it in a store, though, but this is a "must-see-before-I-die"-film. Hugh's piano-playing, perfect as always. And I didn't know about Imelda's wonderful sing-voice. The film looks so cosy, but I've understood that it's quite dark too...

  • I couldnt fin it anywhere for ages, then i found it in HMV :) For about 7 pound. Bargain.

  • Is that an english shop, or internet-shop?

...I'm swedish, so...but I've seen that they've shown it on TV here, for some months ago...

  • Its an English shop, but you can buy from it over the internet.

  • Ok, thankyou.

  • I've got goosepimples. I just love this movie, what a super talented bunch!

  • wow, imelda staunton is with these guys way back then.... and hugh laurie, stephen fry, with ken & em... Funny Kenneth Branagh uses this song again in his musical version of Love's Labour's Lost. :) Love it! They all criss-cross paths so many times in their films...

  • That is some very lovely singing. <3 Yay.

  • ohh

    I love Hugh!!!

this is one of my favorite movieS moments

    XDDDDDDDDDDD

    ...and I love the song!!

  • professor umbridge! gosh she sings so beautifully

  • It's beuaty as fine as it could be?

  • woooow, that was so beautiful! I had no idea those actors could sing!

  • What is Stephen Fry doing at the end of this clip? His he tying a bow? What is he doing?

  • He's tying a bow. Ending the song. Same way you end wrapping a present, by tying a bow.

  • He is bringing the song to an end by tying a bow and finishing off the present

  • This is one of my favourite films.

Imelda, Hugh, Stephen, Emma and Kenneth together!

    many thanks

  • Which fim is this?

  • It is Peter's Friends...from 1992, directed by Kenneth Branagh.

    It's a very good movie.

  • thanks! i'll check it out.

  • I have the movie on DVD and it's such a great movie!!! I love how Hugh is always doing that trumpet sound with his lips... cute!!!

  • LOVE.

    Love.

    love.

    This was perfect.

  • Those two ladies singing can harmonize quite beautifully...Hugh's piano playing is wonderful as usual =)

  • Hugh on the piano- wearing glasses... melt.

  • Wow. Emma Thompson, Kenneth Branagh, Imelda Staunton, and, of course, Hugh Laurie. I didn't expect to recognize so many people. Ha. One of my teachers told me about this movie. Is it really good?

  • It surpasses "very good". You should watch it. You really should.

  • I shall. I'll go rent it one of these days. =)

  • And there's one of the guys from the original 'Whose Line is it Anyway?' in there, too!!!!

  • Tony Slattery, who is actually quite impressive in it. I'd never had him pegged as an actor before.

Got to be my favourite scene. I remember going out and buying the sheet music for this song after I heard it in this film and was bitterly disappointed that the Kern arrangement was nothing like this one. Still brings a tear to my eye.

  • I purchased the DVD from Amazon a week ago, its a very good film

  • The song is called "The Way You Look Tonight." It's an old standard by Jerome Kern and Dorothy Fields.

  • dang it's trelawney, too!

    and lockhart! =D sorry^^

  • Peter's Friends: great movie. Wish they would release it on DVD.

  • no harry potter references, thank you --this movie was really good

  • dang.. its umbridge! >.<

  • I was surprised too *gg*

  • really? I don't feel like clawing her eyes out, hmm

  • Imelda Staunton, the most underated british actress of all time!

  • I agree, and what a lovely clear voice she has as well.

  • jaime bien cette musique

  • So sweet, very pertty.
