It's truth that after Chrylser. The safety have lowered. But now, the Mercedes have improved their safety. Look at their crash tests of E-Class, S-Class, B-Class etc.
I own the 98 model and hit a deer going about 55, didnt break the front bumper so the airbags didnt deploy, but only broke headlights, grille, and hood.
I love this car. People need to get with it. Mercedes makes great cars but they are not bulletproof

The Mercedes have improved the E-Class, look at the 1997 E-Class and this 1998 E-Class, there's a difference. Kudos to Mercedes!
