  • it's funny because this is probably the most complicated part of nuclear power

  • ah basic SSTG small compared to the main engine and they dont really rely on pressure, its the amount of force per unit time the steam can exert (impulse) hense impulse blades, pressure is kept high to reduce impingement and blade chilling from a wet vapor

  • Maybe 12 - 8 stages only, because the steam is just slidly overheated. On the other hand they are directly driven (without gearbox) to generate a 50 or 60 Hz power output.
