@BeerMoneyLive Pianos are not like stringed instruments that get better with age. pianos eventual reach the point of no return & are no longer economical to restore. People seem to think that they are OK because some sort of noise comes out of them. There are hundreds of thousands of very cheaply made pianos that were not built to last due to there poor design & poor quality materials.
I've played a few piano's that need this same treatment.
For you piano HUGGERS out there... some piano's deserve to DIE. Some are, right out of the box JUNK. and when they get old and used beyond being anything but pleasurable to listen to... BURN!!!
You are right. This is an indication of the philistinism that rages in the hoi polloi. They should be pitied. Those who are applauding this activity are not just anti-social by bent but monumentally ignorant indeed. What they are celebrating is a body blow to civilization itself!
