when ever anyone of us wants to write music, we should stop. because ANYTHING we write will be compared with his work and deemed worthless because it is the lowest of the low compared with Mozart.
i dont care if you believe in god, gods, or nothing , This piece is the definition of beauty and peace, and it was created by a human.... amazing dont you think.
My wife died too young(she was 29),she showed me Mozart in a time that i was listening Haendel,Beethoven, some heavy metal too,i was thinking that Mozart was overrated !!....I know that all classic composers are great ;but listening Mozart i feel a deep deep peace in my soul...this "Ave Verum Corpus" it´s so peaceful,so simple,it´s like the Heaven itself!
@apowell65 Thank you very much for your comment ,.Last year i married again, but i will never never forget my wonderful old teenager friend and wife! She was(is yet in my heart) a unique person.Thank you again and i wish all the best for you my friend.
As a theme in the motion picture "I AM DAVID", this music is exactly what the message in the movie would deliver, i.e., where war creates a conflict in the mind of the innocent, and nobody seems to be trusted, there is no refuge but GOD!
What a lovely rendition. We are singing this tomorrow in church and since I am unable to attend our Thursday night rehearsals, I rely on accompanying myself on piano at home or finding videos on here with which to sing. Thank you for posting this one -- it is the best by far. How sad that some people feel the need to be instigative and cruel by writing hateful things on here. It's simply a beautiful piece of music. Even an atheist can appreciate that, I would hope.
To the poster of this Video, I'm terribly Sorry to hear that it's attracted some unwanted attention for the wrong reasons. This is such a Beautiful piece of music that explores the boundaries of what can be achieved with human voices..... Stunningly Beautiful, and just a Fantstic piece of "Das Wunderkind" Mozart, and definitely worth sharing with the world, Thank You for sharing!!!
I love the pause shortly after 2:50, none of the other versions on youtube seem to do such a dramatic pause but I think it really adds something. Beautiful.
As an altar boy for many years, I heard this sung countless times, often at funerals. When this was sung at my beloved Grandfather's funeral, it took on a whole new meaning. I'm sitting hear with tears welling in my eyes at the beautyf of this version. Blessings from the U.S.
I've loved this since I sang it age 13 in a fabulous choir in NYC. I must say, although not as full as this performance, the Swingle Singers have the best rendition available. I found this one listening to them. See what you think...
To me, music is something that makes you feel closer to god than anything else you can have on this planet, or anywhere else. Thumbs up if you agree. I am loving the video so far.
@alishepwil You've a lot to learn about musicians, performers and composers. Enjoy them for their gifts - NEVER marry them. It's bad enough meeting them most of the time!
I never met Mozart, of course, but from what I know of him that's a very good thing.
this is how it should be done :) used to sing this with Southwark Cathedral choir over the river, it's the piece of music that made me love Mozart more than any other.
I sing this in my choir-Each and EVERY time we do it, I shake and get tearful. It is so beautiful that even a non professional choir like us sound like angels.
@cheximus: Do us who believe in God and see His beauty in sacred music a favor and get off this site. Your atheistic comments are not welcome on this beautiful site.
Thank you, Snezhinka9 for putting this exquisite piece on YouTube! It's truly glorious!
@elivansouza I myself cannot explain the universal appeal of this song. It is being sung in all Christian denominations, be they Catholics, Baptists, Episcopalians, Mormons, etc. Divine Providence must have worked through Mozart when he composed this song because until now it is still being sung after almost five hundred years that it was composed!
@Nonie46 Too funny, 500 years?? It probably will be sung 500 years after it was written, but that won't be for a long time. It was written in 1791 which is 220 years ago!
Please let me remind everyone that this is a music video. No religious or political arguing in the comments please. If I see another comment intending to start an argument I will have to moderate comments and I dont want to have to do that! Let's keep it peaceful. <3
Whats your problem, dearest. Its just Mozart. And its from heaven! A famous writer wrote about Mozart: There is nothing to argue. You simpply have adore him.
im in my highschools chorus and were singing this song. its so beautiful. its also a bit of a challenge which I love about it. motzart is simply delightful
@Snezhinka9 Haha right.. well greetings anyway:) i thought you were all the way away in Russia. I hope you have received a good welcome here in England. Do you play the piano?
@mitsymagicful It only shows that Mozart's composition transcends time, place and religious denominations. This song is sung by all Christian denominations, even the Mormons. It was composed a long time ago but remains sung by Christians. It is sung in all the countries even where men do not profess Christianity as their faith!
yes, this is a great version! If you haven't listened to more recordings from this choir, you absolutely should. They are one of the best of their type in the world!
Ahhhh so beautiful!!! <3 I'm agnostic but I still listen to these beautiful songs :)
