(all the colored sparkles of light... well reminds me of the independence day we celebrate next day after tommorow :-) but I hope we will not be involved in any fire soon...
Do we have a date for this documentary? I'd like to know also which Icelandic volcano was producing the fire fountains. I don't think it can have been either Eldfell (Heimaeay) or Surtsey which I visited myself. I saw both lava fountains and a lava lake at Surtsey & the footage resembled neither. Didn't quite fit the Krafla Fires of the 1980s either.
@hreader The name of the Volcano is Eldfell, it began an eruption on the 23th of January 1973, they needed to evacuate the island where 5300 people lived and they needed to leave all of their stuff behind. Number of houses went under the lava but only one person died from inhaling to much of poison gas. The eruption stopped on the first weekend in July 1973. If you would like to know more about Iceland just let me know :)
@foxracer1231 I hope ppl like you get lava on their heads to eliminate stupid ppl from the species

WTF WHO WOULD STAND THAT CLOSE TO A VOLCANO SHOOTING LAVA THAT HIGH

@thebronzeeagle
Actually, it just looks like he´s close to it, both the camare angle and the size of the fountain help with that.

Mesmerizing in so many ways. One simply has to appreciate these sights with awe and fascination (from a distance, preferably) :)

I am not quite sure, but probably that documentary was filmed at Heimaey, south Iceland, during an eruption that started on January 23rd 1973.
