About #5, I feel people do this in order to gain attention. Assuming a majority of Facebook users are either nosy or have nothing better to do, these kinds of posts beg for a questions to be asked by others who aren't informed of the original posters intentions. In a way, it's a sort of condescending attitude coming from the poster because from what he/she posted, one has to ASK about the underlying meaning of the fragmented post. It's almost like asking permission to be informed.
Love it, thats exactly how I feel. I never used Facebook or Twitter, believe it or not. Not because an old fart (because am 23) but I always thought the idea of always letting your "friends" that you've probably never met, know everything your doing was a stupid concept to me. Suprised how it took off.
I did create a Twitter acount not too long ago, but it was because of musician I like. But as soon as I created it, I notice it was so dumb and never used it again. More vids please.
Definitely agree about the "orphan posts". Nearly half - wait, scratch that - MOST of my friend's updates on Facebook fall into that category. The fact that so many Facebook messages are merely ambiguous sentence fragments defeats the purpose of using Facebook as a communication tool in the first place! And, although it's been said many times before, the laptop scene was the most brilliant second of video footage I may have ever seen.
@WestwindCA Yep. I suppose it would've been more accurate if I had it sitting sideways, like a book, but I think everyone got the picture. (No pun intended.)
It's probably been said before...my biggest FB annoyances are all the fake amber alerts and warnings, constantly posted and reposted by the same people without even a thought to check their validity first.
@Shinniebutt The thing about stupid people is that whatever region they populate, whether in a physical sense or out in cyberspace, it just makes it less and less worth while. From that perspective, just think about the diminishing value of the Facebook "real estate" when you get stupid shit like that in your news feed.
Hell yeah no better way to start the day than with a rant love this shit.I don't care who don't like it this is the best content on the web. I don't know why i love to here you give out verbal ass whippings but i wish they would come around more often!
@winder808 My guess is that it may have something to do with which end of the ass-whooping you're on. Simultaneously, those who rate these kinds of videos down establish their position on the receiving end.
@SpeedFreakNO Well, I did post it on my Facebook page. I just don't know if anyone will recognize the humor behind it or stretch the irony out as far as re-posting it themselves.
agree 110% if youre going to put your photos and stuff online only to private it then what the hell was the point? i also hate it when people post shit that like you said doesnt make any sense. either bring everyone in on what youre talking about or just dont post. as for that checking in stuff, yeah i dont get it. do i really give a shit that billy joe went to arbys yesterday? no. but it looks like you have two thumbs down and as usual they cant articulate what they dont like in the comments
@GeorgiaScion Yep, yep. Seems like clicking that "thumbs down" button is pretty much the epitome of their ability to argue a point. Kind of sad, but there you have it.
@GeorgiaScion its just so there friends can see it i mean theres so many perverts on the internet may aswell eliminate there chances of perving on facebook at you right? or even stalkers.......
other than that the people that cry for attention on facebook with status's like "its almost time" to draw attention to the comment so you have to ask questions to find out what there on about (i myself dont i just love reading on the people who actually bother to ask the questions 4 the attention whore)
@Loreleila It's just an overt act of futility that becomes agitating with repetition. Last night, for instance, a message appeared on my wall feed that said: "Here we go again." So, whatever the author set out to communicate through this fragment was immediately lost since no supporting context was ever provided. It's no different than if I posted a string of seemingly random numbers without any sort of an explanation as to their relevance. I'd just be wasting everyone's time.
@HexiBase Since I'm virtually unable to use facebook at all due to the sudden increase in ads it doesn't really matter to me. If people do irritating things I just remove them from my feed but I think it's a pretty stupid and ineffective way to 'communicate' anyway.
@goatskindreams As much as I'd like to, I rely on certain of it's features as a promotional / networking tool for my business. However, as a social networking platform, for me personally, it is quite useless.
I just reposted this hahaha Jk :D
