shadow and spirit temples can be done in either order when normally progressing through the game. The creators realized this, but assumed that the timeline between forest-fire-water couldn't be bypassed (the shadow temple doesn't open until then)
You don't need any medallions except for Shadow and Spirit. Those are the ones that are checked for in determining if it's time to get the light arrows.
the thing that highly impresses me on top of all the glitches etc, is that so much of the run is mandatory/unskippable text and cut scenes. So the actual in game playtime is next to nothing! You really are incredible, and you don't even use any cheats, you just outsmarted the programming of the game, and took the time to master it inside and out.
You will wish that you took care of your items here, I guarantee you. =P Good job with the segment. I probably lost 15-20 seconds on Ganon, so you'll have that plus the time saved with the superslide. I don't think there is too much to be gained from the rest. ISGing Ganondorf doesn't seem much faster, IMO. The rupee route and Deku Tree you can save some more time on. Maybe try doing everything after the slingshot in GDT in one segment using AKA's method for the vine glitch: watch?v=JRGthbFAd6k.
The ganon trick saves a little more than 30 seconds, and ISGing G-Dork saves a few seconds too. You're going to redo segment 2 for the new rupee route I presume which saves abot 15-20. You can probably do the tower a bit faster than mano too. All of those will probably result in a 2:15:30. The only way I see you getting 2:15 is redoing the last part of the deku tree, DC and Spirit and those were all great.
I don't know how much faster the tower will be than Cheese, probably not much since I can't do quick spins like that on the lizards with the N64 controller. But if I get a quick second phase of Ganon, I think I could save 10-15 more seconds since he missed a few times there.
Yeah, segment 2 split up will be a must. I think I can save some time in Deku too (10-15 probably). If I have to go as deep as Spirit I probably won't bother though.
@sveet actually u can do the water temple before the fire temple ncs proved it

if the cutscene that activates the "go to the temple of time" scene is after the spirit temple, why is it necessary to get the shadow medallion?

i have a question, how do you redo segments? I don't understand how that works. Do you do the game over again?
1chapper 2 years ago
If you don't have a save file then yes. You would also have to make sure everything lined up for consistency. Item counts, time of day, etc.
Runnerguy2489 2 years ago
it looks cool but now that I have seen the behind the scenes, it's like a nightmare doing these.

How can sheik come and tell you you defeated six stages if you skipped 2 temples?
Does he just appear if you just get the desert temple done?
Smonjirez 2 years ago
Only the Shadow and Spirit medallions are required. The game assumes for you to have those two you would have the rest.

You pulled of the superslide pretty fast.

ISG is faster than just power crouch stabs?
