finntroll is more blackened folk with just traditional finnish music...i would say Korpikklaani is more traditional folk with strong humppa and irish folk influences. So none of these are 'humppa folk metal' in a pure form or you would get something like Eläkeläiset mixed with traditional irish folk....

There are so many genres in Folk Metal! Beacuse it's about which country the band is from and which folk music style they use!

Finntroll are Humppa and Korpiklaani is based on finnish/sami folk music (their old stuff from the "Shaman" era are more like Yoik Metal, yoik is a traditional sami songstyle)

It's actually very different music.

Korpiklaani is more headbang and party music.

Finntroll sounds much heavier and darker and use humppa melodies to make it sound really interesting.
