  • I want this video on my W610 phone.

  • Can anyone tell me the episode after this one?

  • @jadenemoangel The Twin Dilemma, I believe.

  • I liked it when the master had an evil beard.

  • Here's how it ought to have gone: in the previous serial, the Doctor should have left Peri behind on Sarn to get blown to her component atoms by the volcano and taken Turlough instead. With a devious, intelligent companion at his side on Androzani Minor - rather than that useless bitch - he might have survived, then we'd still have the brilliant pairing of Five and Turlough instead of The Sulky and Psycho Show.

  • I'd like to give Peri some of my bat's milk.

  • So that's when the Interocitor console is from...

  • like the 10th doctors regeneration - "i'm STILL not ginger!"

  • rape drug

  • Worst pair of top comments I've seen in a LONG time.

  • Colin Baker needs more love. I loved this scene so much, because Colin came in!

  • Its the matrix

  • Why did he have to give it to Peri... :( Such a kind Doctor <3 x

  • Last word: Adric?

  • Peter Davison was excellent as the fifth Doctor. It's sad he didn't get many really good stories to show off his talent.

  • sad to see the doctor go

  • 1:48 His last word :'(

  • One good example of rude and not ginger!

  • I'm sorry but while he's regenerating is really trippy looking.

  • Die Doctor!!!!!!

  • I feel Peter Davison should of stayed on for a few more years. It was the second Doctor the late Patrick Troughton's idea for him to do three years and then leave. The Fifth Doctor is my favourite Doctor and also the only one I ever liked from the original series. One thing I liked about him is that he always put others first and was very compassionate especially in "Earthshock" when Adric died which was very sad. Peter Davison will always be my Doctor.

  • This regeneration started really sad, but then when the master appeared it was hilarious. This is one of my fav regenerations ever.

  • This is so damn psychedelic.

  • Master: Die, Doctor! Die!!

    Me: You're not helping!! :'(

  • what did colin baker say when he first regenerated??? 2:33.. =)

    thanks

  • @Doctorwholover10 he said "That's 3 i's in one breath, which makes you sound like quite an egotistical young lady"

  • "It feels different this time" Basically Colin Bakers Doctor was a REALLY bad gas attack.Nothing against Colin himself of course :)

  • @richpartist Yeah, Colin Baker's great and his Doctor would have been great if John Nathan-Turner hadn't been awful with the writing and personality. He made Colin strangle Peri!

  • and so a great doctor regenerated into the most obnoxious doctor, after the best story line in "caves of androzani"

  • @bokoredux Yeah...I have to agree. 6 is my least favorite of all the Doctors quite easily. But at least he was in between two great ones.

  • I was so gutted when Peter Davison regenerated into Colin Baker because Peter was my favourite

  • My favourite regeneration.

  • It was not that necessary to do mega-zoom on the Master's face. I don't think anyone wanted to see him THAT up-close

  • Comment removed

  • Doctor what's happened?

Change my dear and not a moment too soon.

That was my favourite regeneration sequence. :)

  • fucking 81 daleks, you never listen fuck off or i shall get the doctor

  • 2:25 ☺

  • Doctor Who 1984 Howlaround

  • NNOOTT COLLINN BAAKKERR NOOO

  • @TheMajorAssassin He regenerated into Colin Baker and I hate him "NOT COLIN BAKER NO" lol :D

  • "It feels different this time, I think I might finally be ginger."

  • Change, my dear :I

  • LSD much?

  • Piss off master you bearded twat!

  • Young Colin Baker looks remarkably like Will Ferrel!

  • Man.. 6th Doctor was a jerk

  • @Khrome1 I thnk he was one of the best due to his unpredictability.

  • I first saw this episode 2003. It was my very first Regeneration.

  • She's absolutely gorgeous

  • i would love to edit this clip and change into margaret thatcher regenrating into david cameron with this audio bit change my dear and not moment too soon

  • Caves of Androzani = awesome!

  • I saw The Caves of Androzani today, and I quite enjoyed it! I wanted to see the rest of the Fifth Doctor's adventures, but my brother couldn't find them again >< Reminded me of Tennant's Doctor, I don't know why :S I think the whole 'sand' setting, made it feel like it. I started to tear up while watching the Fifth Doctor, was regenerating.... :'( Fifth will always be my favourite classic Doctors, even though I've seen 4 episodes of him :)

  • I loved Peri, Nicola Bryant is so beautiful in these early episodes.

  • Who are your favourite top 2 favourite Doctors and companions?

Mine Top 2 favourite Docs are

    Classic Series- Peter Davison :)

    New Series- David Tennant :)

My Top 2 favourite companions are

    ...Classic Series- Adric, Turlough :)

New Series- Rose Tyler, Sarah- Jane Smith :)

*I miss you Adric!! Why did they have to kill you off? I would've loved to have travelled with the 5th Doctor and Adric. I would've played Jenny, if she was around back then!! XD*

  • I don't know about you guys, but Colin is my favorite. I liked him right from "The Twin Dilemma.." I don't know why, but he was always the weird, backward quirky Doctor that made you hate him.... but then you grow up and really like him... and then there was Peri....

  • god, those old regenerations looked wobbly

  • I love every Doctor the same, and the Sixth Doctor's egotism is so over the top its hilarious.

  • @Walters78s Oh, I appreciated it ;D

  • Watching this a kid, I hated Colin Baker at first. But then, I always hated the new regenerations of a Doctor at first because I liked the old one so much. (Just like I hated Peter Davison at first because he wasn't Tom Baker.) And the dislike of Colin Baker actually lingered until Trial of a Time Lord, which I loved. Looking back, he was actually a pretty great Doctor all around.

  • Press 2 and then 3.... "aaahhhhhh... it's milk!" lol

  • This is the best generation ever!!!

  • thumbs for 0:34 & 0:35 pause to discover what im talking about

  • ginger doctor

  • 0:35 BOOOBS!

  • Die, Doctor DIE!!! MUAHAHAAHHAA!

    I freaked out as a kid :0)

  • @XxLi3rose123xX And how hes created one more account so that 81 accounts the Master created because he wanted the Doctor to die.

  • @JackWProductions that was when Time Lord almost returned, eh? 81 people were on Youtube!

  • @JackWProductions ??????

  • peri: there must be something i can do!

doctor: well..................a wee nip on those milk cans you got there might help.

peri: you want to suck on my nipple? will that really help?

doctor: of course dear. i am....................the doctor. :D

  • the best of the classic series

  • The best doctor was.. all of them except the new ones

  • @cymrutube3 The elevinth doctor isn't so bad i actually think younger is better.

  • @RubenDaVampire Even though the 11th is played by a younger actor, his character is very old, I think.

  • @Yetaxa Yep! Hes 901 to 911 I think in the show and about 1,000 when he 'dies' in the 6th season. Although I think hes more fun and Enthusiastic with more of a honest way of putting things in words. Still Matt Smith is a great actor he deserves the time on the show... atleast thats my opinion.

  • @RubenDaVampire Dont forget that he can move more.....easier than his previous incarnations(original name for the doctors forms)

  • @cymrutube3 I like David Tennant the best...

  • @cymrutube3

    Nostalgia filter at its finest.

  • colin baker was the worst doctor ever

  • What the hell does that Kamillion say i can't hear?

  • he's rude

    Rude and ginger

  • Probably the most badass lead-up to a regeneration ever- The Doctor crashes a ship into a planet, rescues Peri, carries her across the planet's erupting surface, and gives her the remaining antidote, all while dying from poison and holding up regeneration. Then facing death with dignity, he sees his companions and the master spinning, before exploding with purple and regenerating. Epic send-off for Peter.

  • all downhill from here ...

  • 2:38, Still the best introduction to a Doctor!

  • @FowardUntoDawn13 I think it's "not a moment"

  • @FowardUntoDawn13

    2nd best,

David Tennants "New teeth... that's wierd" blows the rest out of the park.

  • @yentalin12345 No! Not even close!

  • @FowardUntoDawn13 I'd have to disagree.

"New teeth" was a good funny "haha" moment.

Six's "Three I's in one breath, that makes you a rather egotistical young lady" was funny, and a defining moment of character establishing. We KNEW who he was by his first line.

  • @RoyalGuard503 I think you have replied to the wrong person, I said that the Sixth Doctor's line was the best, it was Yentalin12345 who said that David Tennants first line was better.

  • @RoyalGuard503 technically it was actually "You were expecting someone else?" but I agree that "Three I's in one breath, that makes you sound a rather egotistical young lady" is amusing.

  • the reason baker doctor was so agressive was they wanted to make him a opposite to the 5th doctors compassion, the feels `diffrent` regeneration was because of dying from the poison. it brought out darker sides of the doctors mind and the multi coloured costume was a symbol of his bizzare unstable initial personality.

  • that new guy seemed like a dickhead

  • This is the best regeneration ever imo! Still sends a shudder down my spine.

  • Not sure why but I hate the 4th doctor, 6th doctor, 7th and 8th doctors!

  • @TOMMY95215 How can anyone hate the 4th Doctor? Also, I thought 8 was pretty good even though his only appearance was in a mediocre movie.

  • should i not judge colin's doctor from what seems like a hypocritical statement?

  • Hahahahaha

Colin Bakers doctor is such a jerk. I like it.

    House on the Tardis

  • @pufferfishish HARHARHARHARHARHAR!!!!

  • Man the 6th doctor was a knob -__-

  • tom baker was the best doctor!

  • 35 secs in seems to be the best bit lol but where did the red go at the end under her white shirt???? couldnt help notice

  • "Perry, I see...boobs"

  • 5th was definitely one of the top three, possibly the best.

  • I spent most of this clip laughing at the poor womans pathetic lines...

  • Damnit Google! I'm not here to watch commercials, I just want my fucking video!

  • Those are some lovely jugs!!

  • Grew up with Tom(toward the end) and Peter.

  • Nice tits on the broad.

  • NO! You were my Doctor, Number 5! *sniffs* I miss you...

  • Fascinating thing is I totally like/love/appreciate sixth doctor, and I totally hate Peri and her I-know-two-expressions-acting. It is just fascinating that people will always be incogruent, isnt it. Since we all have different opinions. Long live sarcasm and irony and this doctor.

    And I want his coat.

  • I noticed something when I watched The Twin Dilemma, Peri never thanked him, no wonder 6 was a dick.

  • I liked Colin Baker. He was my first Doctor. He's a great character. Anyone who thinks different is a beaver hater. Also puppies.

  • It's almost as if the Doctor had regenerated into Dr. House. :P

  • the special effects make me laugh but they were all the rage back then haha

  • Colin Baker to my mind is a good Doctor Who and I forgot he played a character called Bayban the Butcher in Blakes 7 in 1980, Colin Baker was good in that and it was three years before he came the sixth Doctor in Doctor Who, just search for Colin Baker in Blake's 7 or Blakes 7 - Bayban

  • I can understand why people generally vote Colin Baker as thier least favourite Doc, I think he played the Doc too aggressively and condescending. I wasn't big on John Pertwee for the same reason. The Doc does indeed seem to have a flavour of priggishness that can come through but some actors pull it off better than others and Colin didnt do it that well. Peter davison was good and Sylvestor McCoy was perfect, it was a disgrace his time was cut short, but Colin in the middle was too up himself.

  • @frithwks Yes, Peter Davison played Tristan in the James Herriot series and was one of my favourite TV personalities for playing that role. I could never get used to the idea of him being the Doctor though!

  • It's worth remembering that McCoy's Doctor was generally well received. Colin Baker was good in the role, and I think both characters would have developed well if given time. The failure of the show lay more with the production crew than the actors..

  • Why is Colin Baker's doctor so rude? Glad they fired him.

  • @ironjoker101 they were the ones who made him like that way in the first place

  • I love how at the end of episode 3 you see the wiggly lines of regeneration. Shows the Fifth Doctor fighting back death to save Peri.

  • My little brother reckons that Peter Davison was a crap Doctor Who coz Adric died during his reign. I hardly deem that good enough. I hated that character at first but warmed up to him coz he died a teenager. U'know, Dr.WHo goes down hill from here. I read a fanfic once about a terrorist group called the "anti-mccoys" I think I'll do that coz these 2 were the reason Dr.Who was cancelled!

  • @chelliebelly101 No, Doctor Who was cancelled because the man in charge of programming, Jonathan Grade, hated Doctor Who. He complained about the cheapness of the show even though he was the one who cut their budget and fired Colin Baker. Grade then cancelled the show even after signs of improvement. Baker and McCoy were great Doctors. The only flaw during their era was the budget cuts and writing.

Go listen to their Big Finish audiobooks.

  • @ELO1138 Well MICHAEL Grade wasn't actually in charge when it was 'cancelled' (They said it was put on indefinite hiatus) but it was down to him. he was the one that put in the 18 month hiatus in 1985 and then decided to basically doom the show by halving the season length and put it on next to Coronation Street on ITV.

  • @Yetaxa Ah Michael. Don't know where I came up with Jonathan.

There's a youtube video of him on BBC radio talking about Doctor Who and much the new series looks great compared to the classic series. Yes Michael that's because Who now has a higher budget compared to long ago.

I think the idea that Baker and McCoy ruined Dr. Who is nonsense. They did the best they could given the circumstances.

  • @ELO1138 he is clearly an IDIOT!!!

  • Three Is in one breath lol

  • I remember watching this with friends the night it aired. One or two episodes later, Colin Baker was talking when one of my friends said, "I don't like this new guy." Just then, Baker looked into the camera and said, "I'm the Doctor, my dear. Whether you like it or not." Perfect timing!

  • Colin Baker was brilliant in Trial of a Time Lord, I would totally recommend it. I love Colin Baker's Doctor!

  • Bye Five, hi Six!

This is my favorite 'classic' regeneration scene.

  • ai look its the master . . . hes always a dick

"die doctor die hahahaha . . .dick"

  • @thehawaiian96792

That's what I thought when I saw that too, those exact words

  • then he choked her....

  • 0:36 The real reason why the Fifth Doctor regenerated into the Sixth---Peri's stunning cleavage gave him a heart attack!!!

  • @DoctorPretorious616 I can think of worse ways to go... :D

  • @DoctorPretorious616 Must...save...Peri...she's...too...sexy...to die...

  • @JamesOhGoodie That's exactly what I was thinking.

  • @1madDogz She may not have been the best actress in the world but she had a cracking set of top bollocks

  • @randomdave30You mean tits.

  • @DoctorPretorious616 i think what he means is that peri gave the doctor TWO heart attacks because he has TWO hearts

  • @DoctorPretorious616 you mean Hears Attack

  • @DoctorPretorious616 you you mean Hearts attack

  • @DoctorPretorious616 lol You know your more right than you know, apparantly Peter Davisons only memeory from doing that scene was staring down her cleavage

  • Comment removed

  • Amazing story, amazing regeneration. Robert Holmes was so brilliant, Graeme Harper is still so brilliant :) Anyone else have a problem picking a favourite regenration?

  • the regenerated doctor looks like seth rogen

  • wats the ep of this doctor who series and dang the chick it hot

  • @715cool well the season is 21 and this episode is called The Caves of Androzani

  • Thank god for technology, haha.

  • Everybody: You mustn't die Doctor

    The Master: DIE DOCTOR!

  • @Nabbasan * kicks the master in the "bits" *...nah o.O

  • This one of the reasons why Peter Davison is my favourite. He is in fact the only Doctor I liked from the original series. He was brave and willing to put others before himself. What he did for Peri was one of his most selfless acts. It's a shame he regenerated into the unpopular Sixth Doctor who was the complete opposite of him. Maybe things would have been differant if he had stayed for another year. It was Patrick Troughton (Second Doctor) who told him to do three years and then move on.

  • @ultimateMacgregor There was nothing wrong with the Sixth. There was supposed to be a huge storyline where he mellowed out, but executive meddling scrapped those stories for bullshit writing.

listen to the audio dramas and you'll find he's a much more complex, and ultimately one of the most warm hearted Doctors there are. His moments of kindness and humanity are rare, but when they are, he's sincere and very fatherly.

  • @RoyalGuard503 Colin Baker in the hands of a competent writer was miles better than most of the drek he got saddled with. Case in point: Robert Holmes' first four episodes of Trial of a Time Lord. Baker is FAR more mellow and agreeable in that story while still maintaining his edginess. I've never heard any of his audio dramas, but people tell me his Doctor is one of the best in the audios.

  • @RoyalGuard503 yeah I've heard some of the audio plays and it's true he did seem to mellow out a lot I loved his sarcastic nature also I think in his run along with Salveter mccoy the BBC was trying to kill the show for a long time running

  • @RoyalGuard503 I never said there was anything wrong with the Sixth Doctor, every Doctor had his special traits. I always blamed the BBC for Colin Baker's short lived tenure as the Doctor. He had many ideas for his character such as wearing black to show the Doctor's more dark side instaed of the awful rainbow coat that he hated wearing. But they wouldn't cut him any slack. If the BBC had accepted his suggestions, I'm sure he would of been more successful.

  • @ultimateMacgregor Makes more sense. And I rather agree. I think the BBC was far too hung up on making the show a lot dumber for the sake of going with parental complaints, even though the kids actually really thought the darker tones were a welcome change, at the time.

But, as a result, they ruined two potentially good Doctors for the sake of it. Luckily, the audio dramas make up for it.

  • @RoyalGuard503 The Fifth Doctor is still my favourite of the classic series though. I liked the way he cared about his companions, was willing to put others before himself and his cricketer outfit with the stick of celery was a fantastic touch, especially when he played the game in the episode "Black Orchid." I'm sure Peter Davison did some audio dramas himself and they were successful. Do you like the more newer series with the Ninth, Tenth and Eleventh Doctors?

  • @ultimateMacgregor OMG I so agree. He is so compassionate!!! Shame he turned into a bit of an ass. No offence to the 6th. It's just personal preferance. He attacks Peri!!!

  • @TheMachinegunkitteh Yes, he attacks Peri, however it was to be explained that the Doctors unstable personality and vitriolic attitude were meant to be by-products of him not fully recovering from his regeneration, and you can definitely see him mellow out and become more compassionate to his companions, including Peri, in the audios.

  • @ultimateMacgregor Davison is one of my top 4. His audio dramas are also pretty fantastic!

I like the new series. Love Ninth and Eleventh Doctors but I can't STAND 10th. He really seemed like he was trying too hard to be the Fifth Doctor for his first two seasons, and then the third he got better... only for him to purposely become as unlikeable as possible once the specials started (after Donna left).

  • @RoyalGuard503 Yeah Colin Baker was saddled with john nathan turners' constant meddling, a bimbo for a companion, and abysmal writing throughout his tenure. BBC changed the format and cut the budget, and they made him wear that horrible coat. Its a testiment to his acting ability that he elevated some truly awful scripts into watchable programs. Listening to his audios from Big Finish and Real Time on BBC website to see the sixth doctor in a far superior light!

  • @hamanu666 I like the coat, I wouldn't want to wear it but I like it. It's the kind of thing you want a friend to wear just so its nearby.

  • @ultimateMacgregor I find that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. You'll find that a new Doctor is a reaction to his predecessor. For example, No. 9 was hard-edged and gruff, so No. 10 was silly and light-hearted. So having No. 6 be more arrogant than the selfless No. 5 isn't NECESSARILY a bad thing, but the writer forgot to make him charming in spite of that.

  • Doctor, she is unconcious, she can't hear you! 0:30 Peter should have said, come closer, lean over my head. Then, Peri says, PETER! You pervert!

  • Caves of Androzani was just an awesome finale for Davidson; certainly in the top 5 all time best episodes
