From what I've gathered, When Bush took over, the deficit (not debt) was about $255 billion. At the end of 8 years of Bush, the deficit was about $500 Billion. 500-255= 245. That's about $30.6 Bil a year. Since Obama took office, our National Deficit (not debt) is projected to be $1.8 TRILLION. In 1 year. Not 8. In 1 year, he is going to blow the Bush deficit out of the water. That has nothing to do with opinion. Those are just facts.

As I recall, there are several banks still begging for more bailout money. They aren't stable. What I meant was that the country was headed for this trainwreck long before Bush took office. It didn't just happen overnight.  The crap just hit the fan while he was in office. What is the US going to do with all the detainees? Yes I remember that Afghanistan was where he planned 9/11. That doesn't mean that it's the only place we need to be. As for lots of other countries liking us...oh well.

You're right. Unfortunately, some of the banks aren't doing that great but doing nothing would have far worse consequences. The problem is the over inflated price of homes that are now worth squat. (Again this is due to Bush and the SEC looking the other way with the CDO investments beginning in 2003.) Holding a handful of prisoners in the continental U.S. is nothing to fear. (What can they do?) Again, Afghanistan should be the focus. I wouldn't dismiss lightly the need for Allies.
