Personally, I failed to support Jude Law's character at all. This man had done horrible things to so many people invariably killing them. Now he has an artificial heart (I R writer) and I'm supposed to root for this jackass? Hell no! Law's character deserved what he got and he didn't show remorse until it happened to himself. Whitaker's character was far more likable because he was far more believable than Law's sudden change.

I actually liked the ending. It was definitely a downer, but in the end, doesn't it make sense? We always see how in sci-fi movies like this, the big company always wins. Plus you can't bring down that empire just by destroying the database; just can't be that easy. Factor in that Jude Law was knocked out and we just forgot about it until the end? Makes even more sense for it to work that way, as it also ties in the whole 'new brain model' thing they kept mentioning earlier on.

This movie was total crap, i turned it off when he lost his heart. A normal world where people dont care if people are killed cold blood for their body parts. Jude law is a nice family man yet doesnt feel bad about just killing people and taking their organs lol.. the whole thing was goofy

The Genetic Opera was based on a stage play whereas Repo Men is actually based on a novel called Repossession Mambo by Mark Garcia (published 2009). The makers of Repo! have stated they are satisfied that they've created the premise long before these had ever existed and will not be sueing.

There's no such thing as a utopia but come on... contract 'repo men' that barge into your house and take away organs thus leaving you for dead...this movie depicts an outrageous malfunctioning society ... a pure dystopia. You can tell me it's all about the political message against banks and credit loaning, I would have bought it... if the 'future' so presented hadn't been an unimaginable wreck. The movie isn't serious, tries to be funny yet shows so much gore and fails to deliver any message.

Yeah, continuing with what pypeworld said, Keep in mind, Avatar was NOT completely original. I don't wanna say it ripped other movies off but it's something we've seen done before a bunch of times. And no one acknowledged that or really complained about it, they were just wrapped up in the visuals. Unfortunately for Rep Men, it didn't have the luxury of having any mind blowing effects so people focus on the minor inconveniences such as non originality. But its a great movie IMO

According to Wikipedia, this film takes place in Toronto. Now it was definitely filmed in Toronto since the subways in the subway scenes are TTC subway trains, but they never mention it in the film, and the film's medical premise of paying for organ transplants is obviously the US way of thinking, with Canada having universal health care. Now, maybe the filmmakers just didn't take that into account.

But a Repo men is based on the Book "Reposession Mambo" by the director himself of the film Miguel Sapochnik. So it wasn't a ripoff
