Marvin Gaye's version was barely the Star Spangled Banner

He made that song entirely about himself, made it barely recognizable and he is not 1/10th the singer Whitney Houston is.

It would make sense to like Marvin Gaye's version better if it were any song but the national anthem. It sounded cool but it is most definitely not what the Star Spangled Banner was intended to be, it was just a sexy smooth song that happened to have the same words as the USA national anthem.

Whitney has so much natural talent.  When she was singing she just looked so relaxed when she hit her high notes. There is probably not another person that has performed at the superbowl that relaxed looking when they sang.

Whether it was lip synched or not, we all know Whitney can sing amazingly live. The only reason it would be lip synched is because of the acoustics of the stadium. Whitney never lip synchs in regular performances.

God Bless America; this is surely the most memorable and spectacular performance of the Star Spangled Banner; it had so much meaning when our troops were over in a foreign land fighting. Whitney was amazingly and still is still blessed. Beautiful!!!!!!!
