Roaming chickens are also extremely common back in my home country of Indonesia. It's not unusual to see a local hand-hold a chicken when they're travelling somewhere, like as if they're holding Prada bags with feathers.

On the east side of the island, near the mountains, there are flocks and flocks of wild chickens. A friend caught two chicks and gave them to my brother. A few months later, another chicken just came onto our property and stayed.

We had them for about a year. Then the roosters became aggressive with our dogs, wanting to fight them so my brother released them back into the woods.

I live in Hawaii. Here on Oahu there are many people who keep chickens as pets. It's quite common in the country areas, which is most of the island.

They usually roam the property during the day and sleep in a coop at night. When the hen is ready to lay eggs, she often goes into hiding. If the owner don't find the nest, the eggs hatch and the babies run off to find their own homes. We always searched for our hen because we didn't want that to happen. Eating fresh eggs was a bonus.
