  • what happens if you touch the metal things would you get shocked and die or would it jjust hurt

  • I've had my 360 since 07 and it runs like the day I got it. Verticle, with grate shelving for Max air flow.

  • I like how everone complains that the xbox 360 is crap cause they keep getting the RRD's. THATS YOUR FAULT PEOPLE! I have my xbox ever since it first came out, and ARCADE model at that, and have never once had any issue. User error folks, user error.

  • I have gone threw 3 xboxs within 2 days. the first one had rrod right when i tried turning it on. from then on it never turned on. that one lasted 3 hours

  • I have gone threw 3 xboxes within 2 days

  • THANKS THIS HELP

  • this happened when i bought my xbox and hooked it up for the ffirst time i almost cried then i went on xbox.com

  • its happend to me many times....

when it happens the first time i started to cry ;)

  • Awsome

  • um wud u buy my 360? since i dont want it any more.. its has the 3 redrings n everything else is good but im buying a ps3.... i'm selling it for $60...if u wanna buy it please privite msg me i'll send u pics about it as well...

  • Ben, if you wired that cable wrong I think it would have probably burnt out the DVD drive, as happened to my Falcon 360.

  • ERR-OR

  • Yep, knew that, still hasn't fixed my two RRODs.

  • 11,829,098 RROD in the world!

  • Wait... what?

  • Will you ever please please make a video gudie on how to redo the heat sink to a smaller one on the xbox 360 please i need help :(

  • what does ben think about the console bans? and the reasons for it? video response please? :)

  • I agree with many of the comments above, the PS3 is far, far better built.

I like to tell people that I've run Vista on my big PC for 2 years and it's been fine. During that same amount of time (actually less) I'm on my 3rd (personal) Xbox.

Which is a crappier MS product?

  • what are u talking about vista isnt that bad plus 360 is badly made so im buying a red ringed 360 from ebay and fixing it that way i wont have spent $300 which is what u should do since u know how to fix them

  • @benheckdotcom

    Their both amazing.

  • If u press and hold the controller search botton on the front and press eject 4 times u get different light on the roll that can be translated to a error code.

then u lok it up on the net and se wat problem it mite cud be.

    4 light = 0

    3 light = 3

    2 light = 2

    1 light = 1

  • you do know ">" means greater than, right?

    you just said

    360 "greater than" ps3

    lol, fanboys are SO smart!!

  • @xmitchell27 Damn bro you're retarded he actually said that the ps3 is greater than the 360. Obviously you didn't pass the first grade, Dumbass......smdh

  • @GoldenBoy5430 your a fucking idiot... this is 11 months ago... and my reply was to DARKCHEW12..... he mocked KYUBI and put 360 is better.....

stupid fucking moron.... look at the dates before you bring back dead comments.... ass

  • Frankenbox 360. Nice fan mod and heat sinks. Extensions for the dvd can be bought online. I got some for my PC XBOX mod. Love your work!

  • PS3 Is BEtter

  • I honestly do not know where the whole three red rings thing came from, the system has only ever had one ring of light not three that can turn red. Technically it should be the three quarters ring.

  • Yeah, but "Red Ring of Near-Death Experience" doesn't have the same ring to it.

  • lol

  • Yes, the RROD, or 3 rings of red light is when there is a general hardware failure on boot up. Its actually very broad, but in most cases it has been Heat issues in regarding the GPU and/or CPU's contacts shorting because the heat slagged up the solder on the pins.

Basically the Lights correspond to the Xbox's bios report.

  • How about you make a video on how to fix it for us regular people. if our warranty is out

  • It never meant it was dead, it meant something failed. Namely the console.

  • This can happen if your power cord isn't firmly connected. This happened to me. I shifted my Xbox getting to something and then got the ring of death turning it on. Freaked me out. I then turned it off, firmly seated the cable and fired it up. No ring of death.

  • Same

  • a friend of me had it too,

he just put a towel on the 360, put it on the floor for 10 minutes, and THE RROD dissapeared.

    weird thing that RROD

  • @artiejump: Ah the towel "fix". I think your friend will be visited by the RROD monster again before not too long. Using the towel will work again, but then the time to next red ring will get shorter, and shorter every time, until eventually it doesn't work at all.

  • So he did about the stupidest thing he could possibly do... and it worked? Weird.

Unless you're about to have a funeral procession, never put your X-Box on the floor (especially carpet), and never cover it.

Not a big deal if it isn't operating of course... but if the problem is overheating, you're making things worse.

  • no he put it off, he's not dumb

( now im doubting cause of your comments haha )

  • Hehe also a good way to tell if it is the powersupply. try opening the tray if it doesnt open then it is the power supply. Im glade someone finally shared this.

  • i got a red ring on my elite and panicked like a motherfucker

googled it and found out that in some cases you can unplug and wait 30 seconds and replug and it worked

    giant sigh of relief

this was 5 months ago and havnt had a problem since

    *touch wood*
