I Just bought a used MV-8000 for $650 with all of the expansions and current MV-8800 OS upgrades. This machines is definitely a beast, especially with a MIDI Keyboard controller. I don't even need to use my SP-808 or DR-5 drum machine anymore. The MV does every and anything you can imagine. I'm going to be busy as hell with this thing for years. I love it!
How did he load the fx into track 3. I tried to load some bass fx but I can't hear anything, and I see no option in the parameters to load the fx in there.
@Sinosure could you hook me up with your source? here in europe the cheapest I found was 1250 Euros on e-bay. So 1100$ brand new would still be alot cheaper even if I had to pay delivery charges. would really appreciate it...
hi. was wondering if someone could help me. im not sure if i should get an mpc 2500, an mv 8000, or a fantom x6. i dont know which one to pick. ive saved up enough money but i dont know which. what could be recomended? thanks. also whats easiest to use?
I was trying to figure out if i wanted an mpc or the mv...but you know how even if you go to guitar center and try them out. You have no idea what ur doin...lol...this helped a lot...thanks
It goes onto the sample ram while you are recording. Once you save your project, however, it goes onto the hard drive. If there is not enough WAV space for you, you can buy a bigger hard drive.
40gig harddisk is WAY more space than you'd ever need though and with the CD burner in there, it's never been easier to export your songs and so on. I'm currently using a MV-8800, got LOADS of samples and I haven't even passed the 5gig... If I would clean up my sample base a bit, I'd probably have around 3 to 3.5gig of samples I really use. Don't use the hard-disk as storage space for songs though as every HD eventually wears out.
Yeah, plenty of people I know who make house on this machine. In fact, I know people that make rock music with this... a little bit like Linkin Park, but less metal, more rock. It's a pretty damn versatile machine!
get the mv8800 its the most powerful machine out...and get a korg controller keyboard since you say you like to do your own melodies its gone cost you bout $180.00
After having watched the fantom x demo it seems this machine is much slower with all the load from HD, assign to pad issues. You can do the same thing with an external cd player hooked to an audio patchbay then into the fantom. Then you can master into an external recorder. I just can't see having to wait to load patches and not having them ready for audition.
ARGH I wish I had the money for a 8800. I love my 8000, but I want 8 audio tracks

pretty sweet machine, the mpc5000 seems pretty tight too, but for the money it doesnt give you nearly as much as a good DAW.
