Do you actually keep the Sabbath? -It was to be kept from sunset to sunset (Lev. 23:32) -Beginning Friday evening. -No burden was to be carried (Jer. 17:21) -No fire kindled (Ex. 35:3) -No Cooking done (Ex. 16:23) -The penalty for doing any of these things during the Sabbath was DEATH (Numbers 15).
When I have arguments arise about biblical teachings, I always turn to the gospels. The Sabbath is one and the rapture is another argument that always seems to pop up. Christ says clearly, He wasn't here to change any laws, so I would have to agree with the author of our salvation on this argument. Christ also committed no sin in His life, He observed Saturday as His custom for the Sabbath. So the way I see it is, follow Christ example and you can never go wrong.
@jrmaximus There are good arguments on both sides on what Paul really means in Colossians 2:16-17 and Romans 14:5-6. I find it hard to believe if Christ did not and would not change the laws, that anyone else could hold this authority. The King James version even says ''Sabbath Days'' in Colossians, which would indicate more than one (which is strange). There are many days that people observe, that I do not even observe, so I can only assume this is what Paul is trying to say.
@322nemesis Act 15:8-29 And God, who knoweth the heart, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Spirit, even as he did unto us; and he made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith. ... it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things:
that ye abstain from things sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication; ...
@322nemesis Gal 4:9 But now that you know God, or rather have been known by God, how can you turn back again to those powerless and bankrupt basic principles? Why do you want to become their slaves all over again?
Gal 4:10 You are observing days, months, seasons, and years.
@jrmaximus Roger Morneau, A Trip Into The Supernatural (full testimony) is a good video on youtube to watch, even though its long I found it pretty interesting.
Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
In the same way, some think one day is more holy than another day, while others think every day is alike. You should each be fully convinced that whichever day you choose is acceptable. Those who worship the Lord on a special day do it to honor him. Those who eat any kind of food do so to honor the Lord, since they give thanks to God before eating. And those who refuse to eat certain foods also want to please the Lord and give thanks to God.
@jrmaximus You need to do some serious studying. The early believers were mainly Yahudim, and they kept the Sabbath. The only people that worshipped on sun day were pagans.
And this has nothing to do with keeping the sabbath or not. One can keep the sabbath and meet with fellow believers to share and worship on the first day of the week.
The point is that meeting on the first day of the week is just that - meeting the first day of the week. The sabbath is a different thing all together.
Why do you seek to stir up division among people over something like this?
@jrmaximus christendom meets on the 1st day of the week, but it is not just meeting on the first day of the week... it is meeting on a day that is historically connected to paganism. Acts 20/7 They met after Sabbath. Evening already being the first day. They met to eat. Paul left the next day being what we understand, sun day, at the break of day. re: 1cor16... laying up at store does not mean they met on 1st day. It meant that on that day ea one would set aside at their homes their produce.
@valleart I am sure there are many things pagans did that are on the same days we do many things today. What were the pagans doing on Saturday which is the Sabbath (a matter of fact-what do you call Saturday - that is the pagan name for that day). It is irrelevant
I totally fail to see what your point, other than trying to stir up dissension. If you think meeting on a certain day of the week makes you better in Gods eyes you have missed the point of Christianity all together.
@jrmaximus You typed, "The new testement (sic) church met on the first day of the week according to scripture"... and you gave verses. Those verses don't support your theory. Simply because you can't prove your stand, and somebody responds to it, doesn't mean I am trying to stir up dissesion as you claim. Since christianity was developed by man, like any other religion, it is not letting you see clearly.
@valleart you stir up dissension because you make a dividing issue concerning which day the church meets. Barnabas , Ignatius, Justin Martyr , Tertullian, Victorinus, Bardaisan, Cyprian, Irenaeus all write that Christians met on Sunday, all before 300 ad.
I haven't studied in detail but my guess is it has more to do with keeping of the sabbath. Christians meeting on Sunday is not a replacement of the Sabbath.
Why are you making it an issue about meeting on Sunday? That's my question.
@jrmaximus You make statements, somebody responds, you can't prove, and then you accuse the other of dissension. The new testament church did not meet on the first day of the week according to scripture, as you stated, neither did the original church. They kept the Sabbath. They were called nazerenes. Followers of xtianity, on the other hand, not only meet on sun day, but also follow numerous pagan practices. Yahushuah and christianity don't mix.
@valleart historical documents prior to 300 AD make it clear the church met on Sunday. There are biblical references that also suggest it.
I think I need to define my position better. For me the Sabbath, Saturday, is and always will be the Sabbath. Observing the Sabbath is not equated to meeting with the church for fellowship. These are two different things. This is why I say you are trying to cause discension because you make an issue out of it. You still did not answer my question.
@jrmaximus If you need to define your position better, why then did you type for me to "read acts 20:7 and 1 Cor 16"? I read those references and they don't prove your statement. You should really stop accusing people of dissension when you feel threatened by your inability to back up what you stated. Are people supposed to bow down to your claims and not question them? Come down to earth.
Interesting, I have just came back to God after rejecting him through my teens and my twenties : ( This is the first time in my life I have read the Bible and up until now I assumed the Saturday Sabbath was intended for Jewish people only, now I understand it was not.
rom 6:4 and col 2:12 and other verses of the bible with regards to baptism are perfect doctrines of our LORD JESUS.it is you that are not making any sense here.you should not add anything that was written on the scriptures.Deut 4:2,12:32. or else...Rev 22:18-19. i hope there are people that are reading this comments and make sense to all of these. i think im finish, seems like im corresponding to machine.
"Therefore we are buried with him by BAPTISM into death: that like as Christ was RAISED UP from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." Rom 6:4
"Buried with him in BAPTISM, wherein also ye are RISEN with Him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath RAISED Him from the dead." Col 2:12
Baptism--Paul tells us just as He died, we die, and just as He rose, we rise. Commemoration of His death & resurrection. God bless.
1st you say that paul tells you that baptism is celebration of resurrection, not even mentioning whos.now your saying that god says he gave your baptism to celebrate his sons resurrection.are you referring to christian GOD?if you are, what you quotes is nowhere in the bible.JESUS resurrection is celebrated from day one until now to the day of HIS return.its called christian era,AD in our calendar. TRUE CHRISTIANS NEVER HAVE A FORGOTTEN DAYS. JESUS IS OUR YESTERDAY,TODAY AND FOREVER.
Jesus gave us baptism--when we are buried under the water it pictures the death of our old self and rising to a new life in Christ, just as Jesus died for our sin and rose as our Savior.
This is how Paul tells us we celebrate His resurrection, through baptism. This is what the Bible teaches, not man. Please read Rom 6:4 & Col 2:12 again, and let me know if you have any additional questions, I'll be happy to try and answer. God bless.
is that the way you explain the word celebration of the resurrection? a one time act of a believer? all in past tense, buried, raised, risen. thanks anyway.im finish here. next time, quote your bible well...im not expecting this, how foolish of me. our topic suppose to be your forgotten day.it seems, lots of things are forgotten here, sorry for bothering you, thanks for your time.
Not mine, that is Paul's clear explanation of how the church commemorates the resurrection, by Jesus' ordinance of BAPTISM. Rom 6:4, Col 2:12. This is for us today.
The question is, do we have faith enough to believe Scripture, in spite of what we may have been taught to the contrary? Man's idea is observing the first day of the week to commemorate His resurrection, but God says He gave us BAPTISM to celebrate His Son's resurrection. Are we going to believe man or God?
is that the way you explain the word celebration of the resurrection? a one time act of a believer? all in past tense, buried, raised, risen. thanks anyway.im finish here. next time, quote your bible well...im not expectig this, how foolish of me.
where in your bible that paul tells you that BAPTISM is a CELEBRATION of the RESURRECTION? and what kind of baptism are you referring to,baptism of the water or the spirit? please im asking politely to be exact on such matter that tackle salvation.
Paul plainly tells us BAPTISM commemorates His resurrection. A perfect ordinance--buried as dead under water to be raised as Jesus was!
baptism is obviously is far out of context ot my question, why a so called christian must celebrate hebrew tradition of sabbath under the old covenant which you called the forgotten day. for me,to some people, the forgotten day,is TODAY.for evryday is to the LORD,for the LORD and with the LORD...AMEN.
Paul tells us BAPTISM is a celebration of the RESURRECTION, not keeping the first day of the week.
Repenting of our sins, we take part in His death & resurrection by symbolically dying under the water, buried in a watery grave, and then we rise out of the water, even as Jesus was raised from the dead, being forgiven of sin and now to live in the newness of life, a life being led by the Holy Spirit. Rom 8:14
This is how Paul tells us the church celebrates the resurrection.
baptism is not a commemoration, emersion by the water signifies the total acceptance of a person by faith the newness of life offered by LORD JESUS through the gospel. thereby he is no longer under the obsolete tradition and ceremonies of serving GOD(2Cor 3:13-18),but enter into new covenant(testament, settlement) which is a new order or dispensation inaugurated by the death of CHRIST(Heb 8:13).its well defined in the proceeding chapters of the epistle to the hebrews.
thats out of context.my question is what is a scriptural basis of christians must celebrate sabbath like the hebrews did before. baptism is a must for a man to be save. that is after they heard the gospel and believe on it and repent.then they become christian(disciple) if they abide in LORDS word.jn 8:31.
BAPTISM commemorates His resurrection. What a perfect ordinance--buried as dead under water to be raised in newness of life as Jesus was!
i had an honest mistake in posting my comment on my wifes account,we share same laptop.but im really interested on scriptural basis of christian celebration of sabbath,as for us,we celebrate the LORDs resurrection which is the 1st day,and all christian days are all sabbath, being our CHRIST the LORD of it.thanks for previous reply, and another reply will be appreciated.
Amen, Jesus rose on the first day of the week after being dead three days, just as He said He would rise (John 2:19), proving He has power over death, that He IS the resurrection (John 11:25), that all who come to Him in faith and obey Him will likewise rise. 1 Cor 15:22.
However, we ought to celebrate His resurrection as the apostolic church did, not in the keeping of a day of the week, but by the ordinance which pictures our resurrection, BAPTISM! Rom 6:4, Col. 2:12.
sabbath means rest.7th day in genesis and the 4th commandmenth means the sabbath or rest of GOD,in creating all things visible and invisible. man's saturday which base on calendar, whether lunar or solar, has nothing to do with it. GOD blessed all the days of the universe that follows HIS creation, which is GOD's 7th day.so any feasts made on sat by the hebrews are figurative and are shadow of good things to come, which is our LORD JESUS-the true sabbath and LORD of it.
@teacherdolly1 With my husband's kind permission, I am making this correction to (him),Pastor Rod (pastorodgonzales) who accidentally made an honest mistake posting his comment on my own account (teacherdolly). I (teacherdolly) was never part of this discussion thread. Thank you.
@pastorodgonzales Just to make sure that no one is reading from a newspaper here is what the bible says at the end of the 4th commandement; For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore THE LORD BLESSED the SABBATH DAY, and hallowed it. You are right this is enlightening and good news!
Admittedly, I'm not God, I could be wrong. But I would like to hear what you (and anyone else who wants to chime in) think. And sorry this was so long. ^.^
@worldslastchance believe God cares more about our hearts and how we "remember" the Sabbath than what day we worship it. This is something that I struggle with, I'm not perfect. But God has been working on my heart in the matter and He will continue to do so.
In closing, whether remembering the Sabbath on Sunday instead of Saturday is sin or not is up for debate. But I honestly believe we have a bigger picture problem about actually "remembering" the Sabbath.
@RandomOddPerson What could be bigger that sin & having Yah seperate himself from us as a result? Isaiah 64:7. This is what Yah says about the heart & relying on your own understanding; The heart is deceitful above all things, & desperately wicked: who can know it?-(Jeremiah 17:9), Trust in Yah with all thine heart; & lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him & he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear Yah & depart from evil.-(Proverbs 3:5-7)
It was supposed to be a day of rest, of no striving or "working", a day for us to just be with God. And yet how many of us, myself included, go to church, listen to the message, go home, and jump right back into our lives? I'm not referring to the "live one way on Sunday and another way the rest of the week", I mean even jumping into tasks that would honor God normally (such as working- God created us to work [Genesis 2:15]).
Jesus also condemned the Pharisees for being nitpicky about the Sabbath. Example: The Pharisees complained when the disciples were picking heads of grain to eat (Matthew 12:1) and Jesus rebuked them, even though their actions were not "doing good".
But really, all this is not the biggest problem with the Sabbath today. If we as Christians treated Saturday the same way we treat Sunday now, we'd still be breaking the Sabbath!
I agree that the Sabbath is extremely important and that it should be remembered. As you demonstrated in your video, God said so several times, and so did Jesus. But God meant it as a day of rest for us, as you have also said.
However, Jesus also said that the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath (Mark 2:27). This is why healing and "doing good" were lawful.
So...Since "days" are more of a man made concept how does anyone know what day it truly was? God said 7, yes, but man were the ones that named and through trial and error, have the sun-sat calender we use today, but it wasn't always the way it is now, right? I'm not criticizing or anything, just very curious. No one was there at the beginning. I'm Catholic...and open minded as well..\m/ Thanks
say to him well those will not be nesscary soon He said go sell all you have and give to the poor and follow me,It does not take a lot of understanding to know when Jesus said"""I have not come to destroy the Law But to Fullfill"",So we are like PAUL who also said do we get rid of the Law He said no way we astablish THE LAW!!! We learn from the law about sins and obedience to God !!!!!
HERE IS ALSO THE BIG QUESTION FOR EVERYONE TO READ,Why would Our Lord state in revelations such sayings as those who keep the Commands of God and testamony of Our Lord JESUS ""If there were no Commandments to keep"" And again in rev. it is said """I KNOW YOUR WORKS""" If there are no works to be done for the Lord,Again He state's time and time again in scriptures ""keep my Father's Commandments as well as this young ruler who said which ones he was keeping and JESUS did not, cont. on top.
Also juniper0421--- I WILL TRY TO MAKE THIS AS SIMPLE AS I CAN OK, If you get a speeding ticket you have broken the law ok now when you go to court you have to pay for your law you broke ,right!! Now JESUS steps up and says I will pay for his crime on breaking that law ok,and the Judge makes JESUS pay for your crime and it is paid in full, right!! Now here is the big question is there a law still about speeding,YES! And Jesus says do not break any more laws that are still inafect got it now. !
FATHER AS ALL ON THIS PLANET MAY YOUR TRUTH COME IN FULL FORCE AND BRING ALL JUDGEMENT TO THIS WORLD AND MAY THIS NATION AS WELL AS ALL WHO WOULD TRY TO CHANGE OR DISTORT YOUR TRUTH AND COMMANDMENTS LET ALL YOUR FULL JUDGEMENTS COME QUICKLY AND MAY WE BE READY FOR ALL YOU ARE ABOUT TO DO TO THIS WORLD AND PLANET COME LORD IN ALL YOUR FULLNESS AND GLORY IN JESUS' NAME ,A-MEN .! And we have heard from your Spirit to hide ourselves in you for what is about to come even so Lord A-men!!!!
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS ARE ( DO NOT STEAL) BUT THE JEWS HAVE STOLEN PALESTINE ( DO NOT KILL) THE JEWS KILLED AND STILL KILLING PALESTINIANS AND MAKE THEM REFUGEES ( DO NOT LIE) THE JEWS ARE THE MOST LIERS DID YOU SEE THEY FOLLOW THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD
REMEMBER END OF THE WORLD IS TRUE GOD MADE IT ALREADY ON HIS FIRST CREATION THE DINASAURS TIME ,NOW EVERY ONE KNOWS WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN BUT I KNOW THE LIFE OF EARTH IS CONNECTED TO A LIFE ON AN INDIVIDUAL PERSON BORN IN 1976 WHERE THE SIGN OF ROOT OF HEAVEN AND EARTH IS WRITTENOR LINED ON HIS PALM.THATS WHY WE DONT WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN THE DEATH OF HEART .....BECAUSE FOR YOU TO KNOW THAT ---EART-(H) is a (H)-EART a ART OF GOD from his HEART
the Word in which the author is pertaining is already not used...for the law in the old testament is now not applicable in our times because with the crucifixion of Jesus, He already saved us from such laws and we have then entered the what we call, the times of the "new" testament
@juniper0421 you dream my friend jesus did save himself only he give his message to worship god only and he is not crucified god took him in paradise and he will comeback in the end of life he will kill the antichrist with his seventy thousand jews wearing blue and white in the LOD near telaviv after the coming of gog et magog and their crimes in the earth god will kill all gog et magog jesus and the beleivers will come from their refuge jesus will kill the pig and break the cross and die
No, that was the Pharisees' false idea of God's 4th Commandment, and of other Commandments. Mark 7:6-13
Their understanding of God's law--His ways--was backwards due to their lack of faith, and they hated Jesus for healing & doing good on the Sabbath. They viewed what Jesus did on the Sabbath as sin, and called Him a sinner!
But Jesus showed the truth, that our Father is pleased when we show our love for another and do good on His Day. Matt 12:1-14, Mark 3:1-6, Luke 6:1-11.
Actually, several religions keep the sabbath, other than the Jewish. I'm seventh day Adventist, and we take all of the 10 commandments very serious but we find interesting that the 4th commandment is the only one other religions have an issue with. If you believe in Jesus you will learn to love him, and it's in that love that you want to obey him. May God bless you with wisdom and courage.
I've found that interesting as well. Also telling is the antichrist sea beast of Rev 13 claims the mark of her religious authority is that she has the power to change the laws of God, which before God told us she would in Daniel 7:25. Have a wonderful Lord's Day!
How do we change atrocety? There are so many who do not even know that Saturday is the 7th day. As a matter of fact the only church I know of that has Saturday services is the catholic church. Ironic is it not?! Jennifer
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
For further study - Ephesians 2:1-10
What a truth - the message of our key verse in our reading today, verse 8. It is the grace of our wonderful Lord and Savior Jesus Christ - it is the grace by which we are saved. There was no work that I could do to be made pure, only the blood of Jesus Christ could cleanse me, and you, and make us whole.
Amen. We are justified ONLY by faith in His righteousness, not by anything we ever can do, because we have all sinned and fallen short of God's glory (Rom 3:23), so we need His righteousness credited to us (Rom 6:5, Gal 2:16). This can only be done through believing that our Creator lived a sinless life and loved us to suffer incredibly and die for our sins, and accepting His death as payment in full for our sin debt, which we otherwise never could pay.
Saved by grace, we cannot walk any longer in our old lifestyle of sin--breaking His commandments (Rom 7:7-12, James 2:11)--because that old way only caused our death, and His. Those who are saved by His grace now walk as He walked, in the newness of life, living a lifestyle opposite of sin, which sin is breaking His law. 1 John 3:4, Rom 6:1-4.
Since when Christians are so dependent on calendar, astrology, stars? You are very fast to claim your greatness because of your "sabath" but don't so fast to be Christian with your whole heart, to sacrifice yourself for your brothers. All you speak is your pride, like Pharisees did.
Man is way more important than Sunday. Calendar changed so much, that you can't be sure that your Sabbath is not Wednesday or any other day.
@jovanj777 THE TEN COMMANDMENTS ARE ( DO NOT STEAL) BUT THE JEWS HAVE STOLEN PALESTINE ( DO NOT KILL) THE JEWS KILLED AND STILL KILLING PALESTINIANS AND MAKE THEM REFUGEES ( DO NOT LIE) THE JEWS ARE THE MOST LIERS DID YOU SEE THEY FOLLOW THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD
do a word search and look up all the places where it says week and you will see that they are all "sabbaton" which is taken from the Hebrew shabbath. continue...
I believe that God is eternal and totally beyond our concept of time. The seven-day week is a mortal construct based on the lunar cycles. There is no way that He would require us to follow this structure as a requirement of religious practice. How can we even know that the Sabbath should not actually fall on Wednesday? Creation was a very long time ago.
Quite right, God is eternal, omnipotent, omniscient, and is beyond our comprehension.
"For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts." Isa 55:9
However, because for some reason He actually loves us and values each of us individually as of high worth, He gives us His word, the Bible, to explain Himself to us, and what His ways are.
From that Word, we see that the seven day week is not a construct of man, neither is a day reckoned by the moon. Read the Genesis account of creation. God made our world and everything in it in 6 days. He tells us each day had an "evening and a morning", this could only mean a day was and is a 24-hr period in which the earth, illuminated by the sun, rotates once around it's axis.
On the seventh day, He rested from all His work, thus making the seventh day, the LORD's Day (Rev 1:10, Mk 2:27-28) as a gift for man. He blessed it, sanctified it (Gen 2:2-3).
As for lost time, it may interest you to know that astronomers can use the heavens to perfectly determine that. The US Naval Observatory reports there has been no interruption in the weekly cycle since the before the days of Jesus. We can have confidence the day Jesus kept is the same day we keep today.
Simple(6,74) English(7,74) Gematria(8,74) is 'the key'(6,74) to identifying the 666. Ronald(6 letters) Wilson(6) Reagan(6) was the opposite of the Christ, "leader of the world, lied to all nations, and was wounded yet lived". George(6) Walker(6) Bush Jr(6) is the "2nd Beast" who "made fire come down from the heavens" with the "destruction of Babylon". Exactly, those are the types of answers you will get if you ask someone to explain Bible prophesy, and they use their own reasoning and do not rely on the Bible to interpret and explain itself.
Here is the Bible's definition of "beast" in prophesy:
"The fourth BEAST shall be a fourth KINGDOM on earth." Daniel 7:23
So a prophetic beast is a kingdom or nation. This is letting the Bible interpret itself.
"Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. "
Are you going to block God's word here like you did the other scriptures that others have posted? P.S Ellen White is a false prophet.... sorry. Fear God not man~
You SHOULD worship Him every day, there is nothing in the new covenant 4th commandment Lord's Day which says we only ought to worship Him on one day, that is simply a false doctrine of those who refuse to in faith keep His commandments.
Col 2:16-The new moon sacrificial law shadow sabbaths (see Lev 23) were
nailed to His cross and done away with, now that we have the real substance, Christ, His one-time perfect sacrifice, which the ceremonial sacrificial law of Moses pointed to.
It clearly says that God would make new sabbaths and new moons in the old testaments, and Apostles gathered on the first day of the week therefore we follow what Jesus Disciples did
7th day adventists allow drunks to still be a part of their Church, It is written that not, drunkards,fornicators(boyfriend/girlfriend is tempting God and on the way to fornication) adulterers(having a wife then divorcing, then marrying again, liers(those who break their own marriage after they made a promise to stay with that person the rest of life) etc.
@dk686489 r u retarded? who r u to judge matt7:1 "Judge not, that ye be not judged"
and u need to stop twisting the words of the bible. SDA's don't know what ppl, r doing behind close doors, besides other churches let those type of ppl come in, some ppl got to church and the next day they r out clubbing, and i am sure they r ppl like that in your church( if u got to church), all chuyrches have ppl like that "church" ppl r not perfect, u need to get your facts straight
so saturday is the real sabbath?! im methodist by the way...hmmm...thats an eye opener...are there churches that worship on saturdays, its been years since ive been to church trying to find my way back.
Truth is what God tells us. John 17:17 God blessed and sanctified only one Day, Holy (Ex 16:23, Isa 58:13), the seventh day. Gen 2:2-3. This is the Day that Jesus made for man and tells us He is Lord of (Mk 2:27-28). As for knowing if what we call the seventh day of the week today is the same seventh day Jesus & the apostles kept, it may interest you to know astronomers can easily determine(don't ask me how) if the weekly cycle has been broken, they tell us it hasn't.
The point is not whether we ought to worship Him every day. The point is scripture tells us by grace Jesus made and gave us a certain day as a gift, and blessed and sanctified it for us. A day for us to draw closer to Him, not to do our own ways nor even think our own thoughts. Gen 2:2-3, Isa 58:13
According to the Old & New Testaments, the Lord's Day is the seventh day. Rev 1:10, Mk 2:28
LUKE 13:10-17 10. On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, 11. And a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all.
12. When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, Woman, you are set free from your infirmity. 13. Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.
14. Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue ruler said to the people, There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.
15. The Lord answered him: You hypocrites! Doesnt each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water? 16. Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?
17. When he said this, all this opponents were humiliated, but the people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing
JOHN 5:5-18 5. One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight year. 6. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, Do you want to get well?
7. Sir, the invalid replied, I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.
8. Then Jesus said to him, Get up! Pick up your mat and walk. 9. At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.
The day on whitch this took place was a Sabbath, 10. And so the Jews said to the man who had been healed, It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry your mat.
11. But he replied, The man who made me well said to me, Pick up your mat and walk.
12. So they asked him: Who is this fellow who told you to pick it up and walk?
13. The man who was healed had no idea who it was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there.
14. Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you. 15. The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.
16. So, because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jews persecuted him. 17. Jesus said to them, MY FATHER IS ALWAYS AT HIS WORK TO THIS VERY DAY, AND I, TOO, AM WORKING. 18. For this reason the Jews tried all the harder to kill him, not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.
Jesus never broke the Sabbath, It was his day, as He is Lord of the Sabbath. He walked a sinless life, how could He have if He had broken the Sabbath???
1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Jesus is God, He does not change and could not break His own law.
It was the Jews who had it wrong, they added and added, so their traditions were making the law of God a burden.
Matt 15:3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
Matt 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
[9] And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
The Jews were wrong not Jesus, you are just like them with your Sunday tradition!
Almost all humans reject or attack the 4th commandment sabbath because they are deceived, LAW trashing, GOD hating (JER 17:9/ROM 8:7) rebellious criminals.
TRASHING the 4th commandment/Saturday sabbath (MEMORIAL OF CREATION) is the most obvious religious con job/deception on EARTH. Just compare how 99% of the church use ACTS 20:7 and never teach about ACTS 13:42-44, 16:13, 17:2 and 18:4. If PAUL trashed the sabbath, why didn't he warn all of the gentiles in ACTS to stop hanging around the Jews and come worship with him on the SUNday/Lord's day? Anti-evolutionists shoot their creation campaign in the foot by deleting the weekly creation reminder
Man cannot change YAHUVEH Almighty's True Sabbath Day (Saturday) no matter what they do. It will remain now and the same just as surely as YAHUSHUA/ JESUS CHRIST is Lord of the Sabbath Day.
Stormy, The Bible is the supreme Authority. Timelines are based off what is written in the Book and societies and their laws are based off the Book. America itself used the 10 commandments (or most of them ) to make law and order here. SHOW ME IN THE SCRIPTURE where it was Changed, otherwise you have been living a lie and accept false doctrine. See Col. 2:8. Be Not deceived!!!!!!
It is my belief that the disciples with Christ blessings changed the day of worship to Sunday--I also believe it was the Catholic church that tried to claim credit..How many churches worship on Saturday..Not many but one thing that should be pointed out is that they are in the most parts "Cults"...You would determine salvation by the day of worship::You have no Biblical background for that and that makes you false..The Messiah came to earth and things changed..Your doctrine is false.
Is it not interesting those who deny the Lord's Day 7th day Sabbath are the same which also claim that those who walk with the Lord in this respect, do so for the purpose of trying to earn their own salvation?
Interesting that nobody accuses the same of those who look only to Jesus, refusing to worship other gods, with trying to earn their salvation. Nor do they accuse those who remain faithful to their spouses with trying to earn their own salvation in keeping His law of love.
As for the first day of the week, it is mentioned only 8 times in the NT. Six of the times refer to the same day, the first day of the week when Jesus rose. One time, Paul asked in his epistle that the saints lay aside a collection for the the saints. Church historians note there was a famine at that time, and Paul wanted to pick up the donated food when he came to Corinth, intending to bring it to Jerusalem. 1 Cor 16:1-4
The only other time the first day of the week is mentioned in the NT is when Paul visits the local church at Troas, and this is the only time when it describes a religious meeting! Paul, the visiting evangelist, preaches past Sabbath into Sunday evening, and up until midnight. They broke bread (ate) after his lengthy sermon, Paul healed a believer who had fallen asleep and then fallen apparently to his death, and then Paul departed, walking a long way at night to catch his ship. Acts 20:1-14
That's it. The Bible does not show Sunday as a "new" day of worship, quite the reverse. We see the Sabbath being kept and preached on in the NT! Acts 13:14, Acts 13:42, Acts 13:44, Acts 16:13, Acts 17:2, Acts 18:4. John kept the Lord's Day (Rev 1:10), he received Revelation on that Day!
We see no command from Christ nor His apostles regarding the first day of the week. Keeping the first day of the week comes not from the word of God, but is simply a tradition of men.
The Catholic Church readily admits this, they further claim as a mark of their authority in religious matters that they changed the observance of the 7th day to the first, not on the authority of Holy scripture, but by their own authority! THAT'S why Catholics and Protestants alike keep Sunday.
As it is your belief the disciples with Christ's blessing changed the day of worship to SUNday, please share that verse with the commandment to worship on the 1st day.
Also, please provide the verse in the BIble which proclaims a blessing bestowed upon the 1st day SUNday.
This is gonna be quick..I'm not with my Bible right now so the best I can explain it is the Sabbath is a DAY OF REST-Now as far as worship do you think he cares as long as we worship him..Sunday through Saturday..
.If I worshiped on Tuesday this would not be in question...God says there are saved people in every church..7th Day Advents want to claim salvation simply because of the Sabbath..NO!..God Bless you ..I can rest on Sat and worship any time I want..You may go to church on Sat...Dressing, driving, cooking dinner..Now tell me about the Sabbath.
Stormy, SDAs make no claim to be saved by works as you suggest. When you love someone, you listen. "If ye love me, keep my commandments" -Jesus Christ (John 14:15). Its really that simple.
Now, you can worship and should everyday. I agree. But, did you know that only one day has a blessing? Meaning, you will not receive that blessing on any other day at all. None. Only one, and thats on the Sabbath, when Jesus asks to remember and keep it. Why not listen to the Lord of the Sabbath?
First of all, of the 10 commandments listed in Exodus 20:1-17, only 9 of them were reinstituted in the New Testament: (six in Matt. 19:18, murder, adultery, stealing, false witness, honor parents, and worshiping God; Rom. 13:9, coveting. Worshiping God properly covers the first three commandments) The one that was not reaffirmed was the one about the Sabbath. Instead, Jesus said that He is the Lord of the Sabbath (Matt. 12:8).
completion of Creation God rested/on the seventh day. But, since God is all powerful, He doesnt get tired, need to take a break and rest. Why did does it say that He rested? The reason is simple: Mark 2:27 says, "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath." In other words, God established the Sabbath as a rest for His people, not because He needed a break, but because we are mortal and need a time of rest, a time to focus on God. In this, our spirits and bodies are both renewed.
IN THE OLD TESTAMENT IT WAS A PACT THAT GOD HAD ABOUT SATURDAY, BUT WHEN JESUS CAME EVERYTHING CHANGED. THE ADVENTISTS CHRISTIAN, BE ABOUT OLD TESTAMENT.
THE PERSON WHO NOT RECOGNIZE THE NEW, DONT RECOGNIZE JESUS.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY IF YOU WANT TO SAVE YOUR SOUL!!! YOU NEED TO RECEIVE JESUS. JESUS IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE
Friend, nothing changed. And the Sabbath was not a pact with OT people. It was sanctified, set apart and declared Holy at Creation week. See Genesis 2:2,3. That means it lasts forever. See Psalms 111:7,8.
In the NT, if you still believe everything is different, then see Luke 16:17, where it is emphatic in that NOTHING is different.
If you still have doubts, consider this undeniable text.
There remaineth therefore a rest (keeping of a Sabbath, margin) to the people of God. | Heb 4:9
The Seventh Day Adventists are about the whole Bible for it is written:
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: | 2 Tim. 3:16
And thats coming from an NT text, friend. Its not about the NT alone. Its really not. You gotta use the whole Bible. Yes, even the OT ;)
The Sabbath remains to the people of God, cuz God said so in His word. Make no mistake.
HAHAHA ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Matthew 12:8 or Mark 2:28 or Luke 6:5 It means that Jesus was working on Sat. (READ ALL CHAPTER AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND) The Jews tried to kill Him becuase He made many things on Sabbath and Also He called Himself equal of God. They was following the Jews laws of the old testament like Moses laws.WE ARE FREEDOM IN CHRIST. YOU MUST TO LEARN GALATIANS. DON'T FOLLOW THE LAWS BECAUSE IT CAN'T SAVE YOU AS APOSTLE PAUL TEACHED TO THE GALATIANS.I HOPE YOU CAN UNDERSTAND BRO
Your sarcasm, arg, is the end of this conversation. I just showed you its forever, and cannot be undone, and remains to the people of God. Your resolution was as you cannot go through it, to try go around it. Unfortunate.
Now you may be the type that feel better about themselves if you get the last word. Your pride may be too much, maybe not. But maybe, because you chose to go around proof rather than understand it.
Hypocrit, If you can't understand the Jesus Christ messages and signs. Don't teach the "GOD HOLY WORDS" Becareful don't play with the God words!!! In the next days I will teach you about the truth, READ GALATIANS, (ALL CHAPTER) AND I PROMISE YOU WILL UNDERSTAND AND WE GOING TO BE BROTHERS IN JESUS CHRIST IF YOU UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT THE JESUS EDUCATIONS AND SIGNS. HE CALLED HYPOCRITES!!! (REMEMBER IT) LIKE YOU REMIXT
Friend, that opening statement is not true. I have found it repeated three times in the NT. Matthew 24:20 from Jesus Himself, Hebrews 4:9 (you may want to read it in the KJV and see the margin and Greek), and Revelation 14:6-12.
Thats plenty to see it is commanded ;)
If you follow the Lord of the Sabbath, you should seek Him on the day He is Lord over. Not a day He is not Lord over.
Trick question..LOL..U know there is no commandment..I simply said the disciples met on Sunday for fear of the Romans..They did not worship with the unsaved Jews..Christ blessed them on a Sunday for their for their worship (Mathew)..Christ is the new advent..I promise versus to you..*smile*..Soon
I do, jus making sure you knew that too ;) They did meet on that day for that reason, I'm glad you stated the reason. Many forget and think they were there as a new custom to worship on the 1st day, which is simply not true. As you said, they were gathered because they were afraid of the Jews. I don't remember reading they gathered for reason to worship as they did on the Sabbath, do you?
I'm not sure what u mean by Christ=new advent. Sure, verses will be great :)
Why do you actually think, that Sunday worship has the same value as the law of Mt: 22:37ff?
Its just a traditional day and is by no means a law which anyone has to obey. I don´t know any protestant church which says one have to worship on that particular day or is not saved.
Because Sunday is not part of our New Covenant with Him. The danger is not worshiping on Sunday, but forgetting His New Covenant, which is His law written into our hearts! Jer 31:31, Heb 8:10, 10:16, Rom 2:15
One of those laws of love written in our hearts asks us to keep holy the Day which identifies Him as Creator, the Day He made (Mk 2:28, Rev 1:10) and gave us as a gift (Gen 2:2-3), and also has been revealed is a weekly memorial for our salvation, our entering into His rest. Heb 4:1-11
"And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men." Matt 15:9
So we can worship Him in VAIN and not know it!
So, as far as Sunday is concerned, is it a tradition of men or a commandment of God? Of man clearly, there is no commandment from God. It is not part of His New Covenant with us, not part of His law of liberty and love. Under His New Covenant, He has given us a Day (Rev 1:10), Holy, a reminder of entering into His spiritual rest.
@Nirky The 10 Commandments were written by the hand of God on stone tablets for ALL mankind. These ARE the laws of God, not man's laws. These laws have been changed by man - the fourth commandment changed by Roman Emperors to make us worship caesar whose latin name is pontificus maximus that is also the Pope's latin name. Hence millions of "Christians" worship caesar and obey HIS laws rather than God's laws. Sunday keeping is the mark of the beast.
Amen Clarkewi, and now in His new covenant with us, we agree to let Him write His laws in our hearts by His Spirit, thus rectifying the FAULT of the old covenant:
"For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second." Heb 8:7
" For this is the covenant that I will make ...I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people." Heb 8:10
@jovanj777 God is the most important, mot man or sunday.if the catholics did change the sabath then it is wrong.God made the sabath not man and thats the main point of this vid.we are to obey God more than man.man will take you to hell with lies and whatever.

@322nemesis So what do you do with Colossians 2:16-17 and Romans 14:5-6?
jrmaximus 2 weeks ago
@jrmaximus There are good arguments on both sides on what Paul really means in Colossians 2:16-17 and Romans 14:5-6. I find it hard to believe if Christ did not and would not change the laws, that anyone else could hold this authority. The King James version even says ''Sabbath Days'' in Colossians, which would indicate more than one (which is strange). There are many days that people observe, that I do not even observe, so I can only assume this is what Paul is trying to say.
322nemesis 2 weeks ago
@322nemesis Act 15:8-29 And God, who knoweth the heart, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Spirit, even as he did unto us; and he made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith. ... it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things:
that ye abstain from things sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication; ...
What of these-the Sabbath clearly missing?

@322nemesis Gal 4:9 But now that you know God, or rather have been known by God, how can you turn back again to those powerless and bankrupt basic principles? Why do you want to become their slaves all over again?
Gal 4:10 You are observing days, months, seasons, and years.
And what about these scriptures?

Colossians 2:16-17
Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

Romans 14:5-6
In the same way, some think one day is more holy than another day, while others think every day is alike. You should each be fully convinced that whichever day you choose is acceptable. Those who worship the Lord on a special day do it to honor him. Those who eat any kind of food do so to honor the Lord, since they give thanks to God before eating. And those who refuse to eat certain foods also want to please the Lord and give thanks to God.

@jrmaximus You need to do some serious studying. The early believers were mainly Yahudim, and they kept the Sabbath. The only people that worshipped on sun day were pagans.
valleart 2 weeks ago
@valleart read acts 20:7 and 1 Cor 16
And this has nothing to do with keeping the sabbath or not. One can keep the sabbath and meet with fellow believers to share and worship on the first day of the week.
The point is that meeting on the first day of the week is just that - meeting the first day of the week. The sabbath is a different thing all together.
Why do you seek to stir up division among people over something like this?
jrmaximus 2 weeks ago
@jrmaximus christendom meets on the 1st day of the week, but it is not just meeting on the first day of the week... it is meeting on a day that is historically connected to paganism. Acts 20/7 They met after Sabbath. Evening already being the first day. They met to eat. Paul left the next day being what we understand, sun day, at the break of day. re: 1cor16... laying up at store does not mean they met on 1st day. It meant that on that day ea one would set aside at their homes their produce.
valleart 2 weeks ago
@valleart I am sure there are many things pagans did that are on the same days we do many things today. What were the pagans doing on Saturday which is the Sabbath (a matter of fact-what do you call Saturday - that is the pagan name for that day). It is irrelevant
I totally fail to see what your point, other than trying to stir up dissension. If you think meeting on a certain day of the week makes you better in Gods eyes you have missed the point of Christianity all together.
jrmaximus 2 weeks ago
@jrmaximus You typed, "The new testement (sic) church met on the first day of the week according to scripture"... and you gave verses. Those verses don't support your theory. Simply because you can't prove your stand, and somebody responds to it, doesn't mean I am trying to stir up dissesion as you claim. Since christianity was developed by man, like any other religion, it is not letting you see clearly.
valleart 2 weeks ago
@valleart you stir up dissension because you make a dividing issue concerning which day the church meets. Barnabas , Ignatius, Justin Martyr , Tertullian, Victorinus, Bardaisan, Cyprian, Irenaeus all write that Christians met on Sunday, all before 300 ad.
I haven't studied in detail but my guess is it has more to do with keeping of the sabbath. Christians meeting on Sunday is not a replacement of the Sabbath.
Why are you making it an issue about meeting on Sunday? That's my question.
jrmaximus 2 weeks ago
@jrmaximus You make statements, somebody responds, you can't prove, and then you accuse the other of dissension. The new testament church did not meet on the first day of the week according to scripture, as you stated, neither did the original church. They kept the Sabbath. They were called nazerenes. Followers of xtianity, on the other hand, not only meet on sun day, but also follow numerous pagan practices. Yahushuah and christianity don't mix.
valleart 2 weeks ago
@valleart historical documents prior to 300 AD make it clear the church met on Sunday. There are biblical references that also suggest it.
I think I need to define my position better. For me the Sabbath, Saturday, is and always will be the Sabbath. Observing the Sabbath is not equated to meeting with the church for fellowship. These are two different things. This is why I say you are trying to cause discension because you make an issue out of it. You still did not answer my question.
jrmaximus 2 weeks ago
@jrmaximus If you need to define your position better, why then did you type for me to "read acts 20:7 and 1 Cor 16"? I read those references and they don't prove your statement. You should really stop accusing people of dissension when you feel threatened by your inability to back up what you stated. Are people supposed to bow down to your claims and not question them? Come down to earth.
valleart 2 weeks ago
@valleart answer - why do you feel that the church meeting on Sunday rather than the sabbath is such an issue worth causing arguments over?
By your stance in this way you are your own accuser. I only state the observation.
jrmaximus 2 weeks ago
@jrmaximus You state things that don't prove your point.

@pastorodgonzales

@pastorodgonzales

"Buried with him in BAPTISM, wherein also ye are RISEN with Him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath RAISED Him from the dead." Col 2:12
Paul plainly tells us BAPTISM commemorates His resurrection. A perfect ordinance--buried as dead under water to be raised as Jesus was!

baptism is obviously is far out of context ot my question, why a so called christian must celebrate hebrew tradition of sabbath under the old covenant which you called the forgotten day. for me,to some people, the forgotten day,is TODAY.for evryday is to the LORD,for the LORD and with the LORD...AMEN.
pastorodgonzales 3 months ago
@pastorodgonzales
Nirky 3 months ago 5
baptism is not a commemoration, emersion by the water signifies the total acceptance of a person by faith the newness of life offered by LORD JESUS through the gospel. thereby he is no longer under the obsolete tradition and ceremonies of serving GOD(2Cor 3:13-18),but enter into new covenant(testament, settlement) which is a new order or dispensation inaugurated by the death of CHRIST(Heb 8:13).its well defined in the proceeding chapters of the epistle to the hebrews.
pastorodgonzales 3 months ago
thats out of context.my question is what is a scriptural basis of christians must celebrate sabbath like the hebrews did before. baptism is a must for a man to be save. that is after they heard the gospel and believe on it and repent.then they become christian(disciple) if they abide in LORDS word.jn 8:31.

i had an honest mistake in posting my comment on my wifes account,we share same laptop.but im really interested on scriptural basis of christian celebration of sabbath,as for us,we celebrate the LORDs resurrection which is the 1st day,and all christian days are all sabbath, being our CHRIST the LORD of it.thanks for previous reply, and another reply will be appreciated.

@pastorodgonzales

RandomOddPerson 6 months ago
@worldslastchance
RandomOddPerson 6 months ago
Dear @worldslastchance, (sorry, this will be in parts.)

didn't jesus comit acts of healing on the sabeth day which was against the law and tell others to break the sabeth law?
lordybrett 9 months ago
@lordybrett

Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
For further study - Ephesians 2:1-10
What a truth - the message of our key verse in our reading today, verse 8. It is the grace of our wonderful Lord and Savior Jesus Christ - it is the grace by which we are saved. There was no work that I could do to be made pure, only the blood of Jesus Christ could cleanse me, and you, and make us whole.
Thank you Jesus.
spiritslain 1 year ago
@spiritslain
Nirky 1 year ago
@spiritslain

On what drugs you people are?
Since when Christians are so dependent on calendar, astrology, stars? You are very fast to claim your greatness because of your "sabath" but don't so fast to be Christian with your whole heart, to sacrifice yourself for your brothers. All you speak is your pride, like Pharisees did.
Man is way more important than Sunday. Calendar changed so much, that you can't be sure that your Sabbath is not Wednesday or any other day.

I believe that God is eternal and totally beyond our concept of time. The seven-day week is a mortal construct based on the lunar cycles. There is no way that He would require us to follow this structure as a requirement of religious practice. How can we even know that the Sabbath should not actually fall on Wednesday? Creation was a very long time ago.
delvebelow 1 year ago
@delvebelow
Nirky 1 year ago
@delvebelow
Nirky 1 year ago
@delvebelow

ArgDesigner2008 1 year ago
7. Sir, the invalid replied, I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.

1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Jesus is God, He does not change and could not break His own law.
It was the Jews who had it wrong, they added and added, so their traditions were making the law of God a burden.

Nirky 2 years ago
The only other time the first day of the week is mentioned in the NT is when Paul visits the local church at Troas, and this is the only time when it describes a religious meeting! Paul, the visiting evangelist, preaches past Sabbath into Sunday evening, and up until midnight. They broke bread (ate) after his lengthy sermon, Paul healed a believer who had fallen asleep and then fallen apparently to his death, and then Paul departed, walking a long way at night to catch his ship. Acts 20:1-14
Nirky 2 years ago
Nirky 2 years ago
The Catholic Church readily admits this, they further claim as a mark of their authority in religious matters that they changed the observance of the 7th day to the first, not on the authority of Holy scripture, but by their own authority! THAT'S why Catholics and Protestants alike keep Sunday.
Nirky 2 years ago 2
As it is your belief the disciples with Christ's blessing changed the day of worship to SUNday, please share that verse with the commandment to worship on the 1st day.

Stormystew 2 years ago
.If I worshiped on Tuesday this would not be in question...God says there are saved people in every church..7th Day Advents want to claim salvation simply because of the Sabbath..NO!..God Bless you ..I can rest on Sat and worship any time I want..You may go to church on Sat...Dressing, driving, cooking dinner..Now tell me about the Sabbath.

I'm not sure how your next statement helps dismiss the Sabbath.
God rested as an example. I agree with you in that He cannot get tired, He cannot (Isaiah 40:28,29).
Because He rested it is Holy. God did not rest on any other day, and now this cannot be changed. It has been done and so it is now.
So with your last statement, it seems you are admitting we still need the Sabbath. Am I wrong?

JESUS IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE
MATTHEW 12:1-13 AND MARK 2:23-28 AND 3:1-6
LUKE 6:1-11 It says exactly the same.
LUKE 13:10-17
JOHN 5:5-18

You speak of Jesus being the only way, and this is true. You are right, for it is written:
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. | Acts 4:12
Remember, Jesus is also the LORD of the when? Sabbath ;)
See Matthew 12:8, Mark 2:28, & Luke 6:5. I hope you noticed this is recorded 3 times ;)

Reply if you wish, it is in vain however.
God bless in your studies.

:)

Stormystew 2 years ago

Chrilsama 2 years ago
Because Sunday is not part of our New Covenant with Him. The danger is not worshiping on Sunday, but forgetting His New Covenant, which is His law written into our hearts! Jer 31:31, Heb 8:10, 10:16, Rom 2:15
One of those laws of love written in our hearts asks us to keep holy the Day which identifies Him as Creator, the Day He made (Mk 2:28, Rev 1:10) and gave us as a gift (Gen 2:2-3), and also has been revealed is a weekly memorial for our salvation, our entering into His rest. Heb 4:1-11

Will our Lord accept any kind of worship? Will He be happy with anything we give Him, in any form or manner, as long as it is in His name? Jesus asks
"Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition?" Matt 15:3
So human tradition, that is, tradition devised by men and not God, can cause you to transgress the commandment of God!
Nirky 2 years ago
Then Jesus quotes Isaiah:
"And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men." Matt 15:9
So we can worship Him in VAIN and not know it!
So, as far as Sunday is concerned, is it a tradition of men or a commandment of God? Of man clearly, there is no commandment from God. It is not part of His New Covenant with us, not part of His law of liberty and love. Under His New Covenant, He has given us a Day (Rev 1:10), Holy, a reminder of entering into His spiritual rest.
Nirky 2 years ago 11
@Nirky The 10 Commandments were written by the hand of God on stone tablets for ALL mankind. These ARE the laws of God, not man's laws. These laws have been changed by man - the fourth commandment changed by Roman Emperors to make us worship caesar whose latin name is pontificus maximus that is also the Pope's latin name. Hence millions of "Christians" worship caesar and obey HIS laws rather than God's laws. Sunday keeping is the mark of the beast.
clarkewi 1 year ago
@clarkewi
Nirky 1 year ago
@clarkewi your stupidity is mark of the beast. What is more important? Man or sunday?
jovanj777 1 year ago
@jovanj777 God is the most important, mot man or sunday.if the catholics did change the sabath then it is wrong.God made the sabath not man and thats the main point of this vid.we are to obey God more than man.man will take you to hell with lies and whatever.
