If I remember correctly Sonic didn't have the "stop and spin" thingy. That was a new feature to Sonic 2. I heard that there's alot of people complaining about the spin dash which did not exist until Sonic 2. If you were not alive on when Sonic launched nobody's gonna take your comments serious. The lack of a spin dash made this game harder, Sonic 2, 3 and Knuckles were easier compared to Sonic 1
